EDIT: your right. i wonder why thoguh. when i made it with windows video maker the song played when i manually moved the thing that shows where in the movie it is. any body got any help to offer?

well some mp3s don't quite agree with wmm, you also need to check the levels of the movie---music slider, and if that doesn't work I'd suggest converting your mp3 to an uncompressed wav file, better quality and wont freeze up wmm...
