I was just wondering if any of you know how to carve. I've been carving for 2 years now and im getting tired of making my regular things. Ne1 got any ideas? Ive got a carving set, so im not just using my pocketknife. Im looking for a good shuriken design (Hira), regardless of the number of wings(the part that sticks out of the center), as long as they do not get too thin.

I have to move this to the ArtClass section :leepose
I only took Sculpting in highschool XD we did alot of carving work, it was pretty difficult the first time (I was more afraid of breaking my block in half that anything else, lol)
What types of things have you been making? And what are you carving out of? n__n
I'm not sure where to find some shruiken pics with nice designs, but I'll look around

Ive got a lot of dead ash trees behind my house, and theres a couple maple, but they arent quite dead yet (my neighbor will probably.........) and my dad just finished building my little brother a playhouse, so hes got alot of thin (about 1cm high) maple boards and lots of, i think, cedar (1 inch thick or 2.54cm). and ive mostly been making swords, staffs, spears, and tiny monkeys....

And I also built this DVD Shelf. Holds around 210 DVDs. The second shelf is warped because I picked out a bad wood by accident. :cry
