I have bad news ...
In france, the government is going to vote on a law against "freewares" on the night of the 22nd December.
If it is approved, we won't be able to download any fansub or anything, or we'll be considerer hackers or anything else ... And it does not only implies manga, but EVERY freeware ! Encrypting too, of course ! Many french sites are going to close...
Yes, it's astonishing, but it's a reality !
Help us by voting ! http://eucd.info/index.php?English-readers
Or i'm really going to have a bad holiday... And many are going to.
I feel so sorry for u since u live in France. I dont think the government should be so strict when it comes to freeware. After all, it's FREE. Why do they want to impose this kind of rules?
Besides, once France impose this rule (that is if they decide to do so), then the whole EU will soon follow suit. In that case, no one in Europe will be able to watch or read Naruto again? That's so bad considering that we only download freeware for our own use and we dont use them as a profitable income or sell them.
What actually is the government's reasons for this anyway? Too many hackers? If someone only download fansubs for example, for their own entertaiment, I really dont see a problem for the government to act harshly and close down all the sites and so on.

What the hell? All of them? :mad With that law in place we can't even do anything with stuff we legally own! *goes to vote*
Can someone tell us how to vote against it because I dont understand French and I certainly dont speak French.
Better still, can someone screencap all the steps we need to do in order to vote against it?

Damn it, I hate the French Government. How do I vote? I think they impose this rules because if this stuff were considered legal, then people wont have to buy a VCD/DVD, they'd just download for free. I for one am a downloader and it's very sweet cause it's for free. I don't sell though since that is too much.:narutokyu

My question is what is the french government going to do about sites that are not hosted in france? Are they going to become like a comunist state and block certain sites like NF?
Besides, once France impose this rule (that is if they decide to do so), then the whole EU will soon follow suit. In that case, no one in Europe will be able to watch or read Naruto again?
OMG the chance is high that EU will follow this. Maybe it won't be so easy for them to force this to whole EU (I bet there are some ppl that don't like the idea) but the sole idea gives me creeps, cuz I live in EU, and honestly speaking my current government would probably like that idea. :mad
So I'm going to vote, even though I don't know french.

Damn, that is so retarted. However, it's a logical result when you keep in mind the reason the capitalist moralists are enforcing these things upon us.

Only shitty EU countries like Italy and Belgium might follow.

And UK as well after Blair will give in to his french Masters just like he did last week instead of sticking to his guns on the rebate issue.

You tell france to go fuck their selves for imposing such ridiculous rules on free distrubition of material. If your not making a profit who are you exactly hurting, so you can't download free trials any more?
I feel sorry for all of you, but then again if your still downloading Naruto or have any naruto productions which are now licensed then were already stealing, but if you have it before it was licensed is it considered stolen or does it fall into a loop hole? Well hopefully it doesn't pass.

The problem at work here? Most political leaders are technology-impaired, due to being old and having several secretaries apiece to do computer work for them. This allows those who do know computers to use scaremongering tactics to push through absurd bills.

I pity the French.
I doubt that too many other countries would follow suit but it could happen.
You French have got to do something about this...What on earth have the politicians been doing in their spare time to come up with this?! Cant they try to solve the immigrant issues in your country first, before declaring outright non-tolerate policy upon downloading source-files?
I am sorry for you guys, so seriously sorry. Whoever is in charge of this has obviously no idea of computing or they would know alot more about source-files and why it is not theft.
