I don't read the manga so I don't really know. But i'd assume that they will get stronger. They aren't really weak, Chad can prolly take a VC in a close fight. Orihime's ability seems weak b/c she doesn't use it effectively IMO, but she'll most likely be stuck in a healing role. For her to be a good fighter she needs killing intent and I doubt that she'll be able to direct killing intent at anything other than a hollow.

Chad will get stronger and the Orihime opinion is correct I believe.

Orihime's part in this anime became obvious, not an ofansive type, she'l just be in the back and save their asses. I don't think she will be very strong. As for Chad, he doesn't seem to be a very important character so I don't think he will be strong as hell. But I hope he doesn't become like Abarai, facing all the opponents he can't beat.
