Just found this today, its a preview of the next arc for the anime (the one the manga is currently in)

This is quite fantastically spoilerific for anime only watchers so only check if you are sure you want to, featuring 5 characters who'll be appearing in the next arc.

With the anime's current speed, it could catch up to that spoilerific pic by 70 episodes, yes, but it'd end right there.

it was from within the manga, but the style is clearly the anime style.

I'd estimate that they might show us them coming down to earth and then we'll get fillers with various stuff with those shinigami as well as Ichigo and co + the shinigami who isn;t seen there, probably fighting and a lot of comedy

Also to all the manga readers, you know what sort of crazy things happen even before the shinigami get down on earth XD the prospects of seeing that animated has me extra excited

dunno about you guys but Im happy to hear this one way or another. Even if it means more filler eventually, I was really hoping theyd keep on with the arc, and maybe stop with the second movie. Kubo Tite seems to be playing a big hand in the anime, so Im sure they know what theyre doing. My guess is the anime catches up right in time for the manga to end the arc, before the movie comes out next winter.

I mean the anime isnt even in the 170's yet, and the manga has about a 40 chapter lead. Assuming they do 2 chapters an ep give or take with fillers and stuff, itd take 20 eps to catch up to where they are now, 10 more for where they are then, 5 for where they will be, and 3 to be fully caught up. So thats like 38 more eps or 40 for fillers sake, which is almost next winter in time for the movie. But can the arc really finish in 40 chapters?

Yeah I'm apprehensive at anybody having the talents to keep up with Kubo Tite's crazy vision, but as long as he's keeping his eye on the anime, then maybe the fillers won't be naruto-filler bad.

no its not the manga scan

its a screencap from the anime version

its like the OVA of bleach that came out earlier this year
at the end they also had short clips of what was gonna happen 30 episodes later

I think the anime is going to be screwing with the storyline...Having these 5 characters introduced then put into a bunch of filler episodes BEFORE the manga-events that are prior to the 5 character introduction occur.

It appears they are taking one of the important things that occurs, and putting it a bit sooner than it occured in the manga...

and then using that to make a new gap for a long block of filler episodes (possibly scattering in hints of what is going on in the manga), before moving on completely.
