what was your fav. book? i personally liked the Horse and His Boy. i thought that was the best. i mean, you detract from the 4 children and you see a regular boy rise up to fame. i thought it was the best. i want to read it again now.

the last time i read it was in 6th grade and i liked the first one
I can't decide between The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and The Horse and His Boy. It's hard to choose, because I liked the characters and plot of The Horse and His Boy best, but The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was the first book I read, so I'm attached to it (I read the books slightly out of order).

The Last Unicorn. I had to read the last book of it's series like 1232 times.

My favorite one EVER is The Magician's Nephew. However, The Horse and His Boy is a close second.
Don't get me wrong, I love Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. And Jill and Eustace. And Caspian. But I just love Diggory, Polly, Shasta, and Aravis a little more. :laugh
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is my favourite.
It was the first one I read, and it was definately amazing.

No, you didn't. CS Lewis meant for The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to be read first before any of them. Trust me, this whole chronological order people are selling the set in is a crock o' bull.
I liked The Horse and his Boy because we actually got to get a glimpse of the Penvisies when they were reigning as Kings and Queens of Narnia.
....did anyone at all like The Silver Chair? I personally thought it was the weakest of the seven...

Ehhh...Kinda. I didn't think it was awful. And at least I got through it. It does move slower than the others. And the absolute lack of Pevensie children is kinda disappointing.
I didn't actually finish the Narnia books until last April...I kept getting to chapter two or three of The Last Battle and then losing interest. That happened for about...six years. I finally checked it out from the library on cd (along with the rest of them) and listened to the entire thing, and it was okay.

I read the story out of order too. I read silver chair first. and then..started from the beginning. eh......Silver Chair was ok. but Horse and His Boy FTW

I read the book 'The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe' soon as I finished that I skipped straight to 'The Last Battle' so I hadn't really finish the series yet.

I never read them at all. Would it be too late for a 19-year old guy to read them?:oh

It makes sense that we're meant to read The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe first, but I don't understand why it's always second in all of the book sets. :oh
Seeing the Pevensies as Kings and Queens was one of the best parts of The Horse and his Boy. Even when watching the new Narnia movie, the scene at the end where they're shown as adults was one of my favorites. ^_^
I agree with you about The Silver Chair - I never liked it much, mainly because the story wasn't that exciting, and Eustace and Jill just aren't as much fun as the Pevensies are.

It's not too late. :) Actually, you'll be able to appreciate them more by reading them now, than if you had read them when you were younger. I re-read the books recently, and it was such a different experience.

Ahhh thanks. In the intervieuws, all I heard them saying was: "I read it when I was 7/8/9 years old." Made me think it would be too 'kiddy':amuse

Probably because The Magician's Nephew takes place before Narnia was born and it gives the backstory of Aslan, the Witch, the lampost, and the Professor.
Putting it first as a set is the place that makes the most sense.

ya different box sets put different books first. though i think personally that magician's nephew should be first, since it's the first chronologically (not that everything is chronological in the series, anyways...... i mean, for example, the horse and his boy is set when the four kids are kings and queens, while they go back in the lw&w, and return in prince caspian..... so it's set during while they were ruling............ if anyone understood that '^_^
