Need help making a gif

I thought there was a tutorial about this but I can't find it anymore so here goes my qeustion.

How can I make a gif from one picture for example this: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y149/Oompje/NarutoScreenshot.jpg
and make the gif show Lee first from his feet and then slowly moving up towards his head in Imageready ???

I tried searching for a function in Imageready that allows me to do such thing but I couldn't find any. I have to say that I have zero knowledge of working with Imageready or Photoshop so if you answer this, please make it easy to read :tem

Oompje i think u should cut the slices u want in the gif from that pic
have the slices u want on image ready and save it as a gif.

euhm slices... seen that tool, but I don't really understand what to do:blink O well seems you are going to explain some things on msn :amuse
And I know how to work with virtualdub (I can make gifs using that and imageready) but as you said it is still not what I'm asking for, thanks anyway :tem

ur busy on msn lyke 24/7 xD
so ill jus try and explain it here.

use the Crop tool to cut out the part of the pic you want to start with.

eg

then (using the same crop demensions) crop out the second part
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/HAUNTERAGM/tututututu.jpg

and so on until you reach the bottom of the pic.
then move all the cropped images to image ready, copy the second pic and paste it on a new frame on the first pic.
do that to all the pics.. may take a while depending oh how many pics u have.

i hope that made sence.
if u still feel un certain, say so, and i will completely animate that pic here showing all steps!

mm ok... could you animate it, because I'm still a bit uncertain about it. And this seems alot of work, I thought there was an easier method to do this... well thanks for the help :amuse

and if I crop it the whole image is gone except for the part that I selected...

ok here we go.

Creat a new file on your desktop called 'whateva u want'

to start of, crop the part of the picture you want to animate.
the pic you posted was to big, you only wanted rock lee so simply crop him out.

Now.. press 'ctrl + R' rulers should appear.
using these rulers you will keep track of the demensions you cut.

1. crop the image with the selected demensions, and save it in the 'whateva u want' file on your desktop.

2. now, you will notice that the main image has gone!
simply press 'alt + ctrl + z' and the image will re-appear.

3. using the same demensions crop the pic, only going down one unit (or half a unit if u wanna make it look real smooth) on the ruler.

repeat these three steps until you have covered Rock lees entire body.

Now, open up image ready go to 'file', 'import', 'folder as frames' click on ur 'whatevea' file. save it as a gif, and ur ready 2 go!
