For anyone who knows it, or has taken a class for it, I was wondering how difficult it is to learn? I'm considering taking this class online this coming Spring term (online would be the best option for me, schedule wise, otherwise, I'll have to wait until Summer to take it, providing they offer it during summer), but I'm not sure if I should since I really don't know what to expect learning curve wise and workload wise (meaning, is it time consuming...ala programming).

On the other hand, I really don't want to wait until summer, possibly fall, to take it, if I can get it out of the way this coming term.

I'm fairly smart. I can easily get a B in most classes without spending a lot of time, and get As when I actually put in effort. I've taken C programming (hated it, too tedious and time consuming), desktop/server administration using Win XP/Server 2003 (found it boring, but I need it so...), and I'm currently taking a Cisco class for CCNA (this one did get my attention).

I've also taught myself html/css and Dreamweaver 8, as well as PSP CS2. Have passed A+ certs, and have been around computers when DOS was still a main OS.

Suffice to say, I have a fairly decent and varied experience when it comes to computers.

So yeah, what should I expect if I take this class?

Any help/advice/info would be appreciated.:)

Well as far as the SQL language itself, I think it's pretty interesting. It's not hard to learn, and it is definitely beneficial to know if you want to be working in the software market.

The language is not that hard, taking a class on it now and it is quite interesting, i dont know about your class, but the language can be greatly complemented with a class of database design and management, also normalizing (sp) can be a bitch :P
