Well, as you can probably tell, I'm a huge spidey fan, and I coulda sworn I had seen a fanclub for him around here somewhere a while ago, but after countless searches and coming up with nothing, I decided to make it myself :D

so let's begin:

Here we can discuss anything and everything spidey related. The comics, movies, animated series, spidey's past, present and future... anything at all! So all spidey fans unite and celebrate one of comicdom's most original hero's ever created.

This is my first fc, so I'm still learning how to be an owner. But anyway, hopefully if we get enough members, we can get a cool banner, and have some triva/fanart contests or something. We'll see how it goes :/ I guess for now, I'll be excepting 2 co-owners, let me know if you want the spot :)

Haha, I have problems drawing women as well, but not as much as men. I have problems with drawing guys because they usually only have short hair with one style. With girls, you get a bunch of different hairstyles.

For those of you that are following "the other", how do you think spidey's going to *ASM 526 spoliers* evolve? Do you think he'll grow a new eye, or get a fake one? Do you think they're going to change his powers/costume a lot (since tony stark is suppose to give spidey a new costume).

Have you guys read Kraven's last hunt? If you haven't just recommending it, one of the best spidey stories I've ever read, and it completely changed how I viewed Kraven.

As far as house of M goes, it's this huge event where scarlet witch basically changed reality by giving all of the marvel heroes what they wanted, and created an alternate reality where mutants are the majority over the humans. There are a whole bunch of mini's from it (a lot can be found at the manga cult), but I only read the main "HoM" book and "spider-man HoM" (which doesn't really relate at all to the main storyline) So there are people who could answer any questions you have about it a lot better than I can. I won't spoil the ending for you, but it's very interesting, you should download it.

So what do you guys think Spidey's new costume will look like (as it is suppose to be given to him in ASM #529) I think his original costume is very iconic and one of the best superhero costume designs ever. However sometime change can be good (black costume, scarlet spidey suit) but I'm more than certain it won't be permanent.

I'm wondering, what do you guys think of the spidey movies? Which of the first two do you like better? Which villan did you like better? Do they do the character justice? I love both, (although I think I perfer spidey 2). Great action, especially spidey 2, and IMO, some pretty great actors.

However, there are some things that I think keep them from being the definitive spidey films. For one, MJ's character doesn't seem quite like mj. I thinks she should be more of a party animal, like when she first appeared in the comics. Also, I think tobey maguire plays an awsome peter parker, i just wish they would give him more wise-cracks and one liners while he's in costume.

But still, other than some other minor things, I love both films and can't wait for the thrid one. Sandman is the only comfirmed villan, and I can't wait to see all the special effects and whatnot they use on him. should be awsome :D

haha yeh, I completely agree with you about J.J. They got his character 100% right, and I don't think they could've found a better guy to play him. For the villans, It's hard for me to pick which one I liked better. Doc ock was a real bad ass, and the arms looked awsome, also their fight at the clock tower/train was amazing. But I think willem dafoe played a great green goblin (even if the suit wasn't all that great), he got the goblins insanity down great. Bah, they were both great villans :leepose

I have a question for you guys, how many of you have actually read the clone saga? I just want to hear some opinions cause most people I know hated it a lot. Me, there were some things I liked (Scarlet Spider, mainly) and of course many things I didn't, namely trying to replace peter as spider-man/ "death" baby may. But regardless of whether you liked it, it was a huge part of spideys history, and if you wanna look at it in more detail, this is a great site (http://www.newcomicreviews.com/GHM/specials/LifeOfReilly/1.html), 35 pages that cover the whole confusing mess, cause I know I got lost a few times reading it.

I for one, have a lot of questions regarding the clone saga of Peter's life... one of the reasons was that I took a break in collecting comics (financial reasons) and I missed a whole lot of issues.... As of now I am still wandering what happened to their baby, if you had read the "Other", it was mentioned in one issue that spideys one regret is that they never had a child.... did he forget about baby may?? ah so many questions left unanswered...

I'll try to read your recommended site once I have time....

Yeah that site will help out a lot, although it is rather long but I know it still confuses the hell out of me sometimes. A lot of people think that the baby was what the nurse delivered to Norman Osborn at the end of ASM #418. I don't know if she was still alive or anything, but I believe pete and mj think she's dead.

Eventually, I think they should let spidey have a kid. That would be soo hilarious seeing him try to adapt to being a father.

Hey guys XD sorry, I was away with out a comp for the last couple of days, but I'm back now. Yes, last issue was freaking awsome, and kinda a tear jerker, just picturing peter dying (even though I know marvel will never be dumb enough to really kill him.

I guess they forgot Mj got her arm snapped in two :/ and pat lee is probably my least favorite artist on the spidey books right now, but oh well, I know I'll still love this issue.

And apparently, someone already read this issue and posted what goes on in it. I will not be reading this though, and I suggest others don't either, just so we're pleasantly surprised :D But I'll put it here anyway, just to tempt you XD

Yes, I'm spoiling next week's comic. Just in case the title wasn't enough of a giveaway...

MJ is grieving through most of the issue. She starts by sucking it up so she can be strong for Aunt May. She asks Steve to talk to May about it (cuz she respects him a lot, and so did Pete) and goes talk to Tony who has some pressing business.

Tony hates doing this, but he starts talking about how to protect the secret ID. How they have to fake Peter's cause of death. Like drowning, or getting caught in the propeller fans, or burns. MJ freaks out and runs off.

MJ runs into Wolverine and instantly flips on him (about the crap he's said to them in the past). Wolverine says he just wanted to ask her out now that he's gone. She yells at him and storms off again. Jarvis asks him why he'd do something like that since he's been through this. He says that's why he did it: He wanted her to be pissed. Rage will get her through this. If she's busy hating someone she won't be busy grieving. At least that's what helped Wolverine.

MJ finds Tony and tells him she wants Peter to be a hero dammit. She comes up with a scenario where some hudlums try to get her and Peter, the human, is beaten to death to save her. Tony says it'll work and comforts her a bit.

Skip to night, MJ can't sleep. May is sleeping (sedatives) and Jessica comes talk to MJ. Jessica makes mention of how, when he was fighting Morlun, she felt a strong connection to him. Like something she never felt before. And right on cue, alarm goes off in Peter's room.

MJ gets there and Peter's body's been ripped open across the chest, window is broken. Avengers determine that someone broke OUT the window, not in.

Cut to some school teacher explaining things about spiders. How they make nests in dark, damp places. How some spiders shed their skin, but unlike snakes, they do it only once in their live ("usually in moments of--" and gets cut off). Finally we see Pete in his cocoon under the bridge."

ooook, so I just read MKSM #21, and I must say, it was better than I thought it would be.

Even though I know he's not dead, it was still very emotional. I could feel it in my stomach when tony was talking about what to do with peter's body. And the scene with wolverine was a very nice touch.

So overall, dispite the lacking artwork, I loved it! Cannot wait till ASM #527. The anticipation of his new powers is killing me.

and actually, uncanny_Sama, there was a arc about a year ago in spectacular spider-man where spidey kinda "evolved" and he gained organic webshooters, so right now he already has em'. Thanks nybarius :D Hmmm, tips.. The way I learned was just by coping comics and cartoons when I was really little, then i just evolved from there. I never really had any formal art classes. Also, do a lot of little thumbnail sketches of what you want your pic to look like, just so you can get the position and figures in the right spots. Besides that, I guess just looking at books and stuff to learn the correct anatomy (which I still have to work a lot).

^why yes he does. Uncanny sama posted the design for a few posts ago. I don't think its getting very good reviews, but I'll wait to see how it is used and whether or not a different artist can make it look better before I decide to hate it completely.

As for those things coming out of spideys wrists, they are called stingers and he used them to kill morlun in FNSM #3. I'm still not sure if I like them though. They just don't seem like something spidey would use.

Apparently somebody got a hold of ASM #528 early and posted that spidey has some other new powers, which would be:

1. Spider-Man can now see in the dark. That's right, he has night vision.

2. Spider-Man appears to have a pshychic link to his webbing. He can sence vibrations when something's touching it and stuff.

3. Spider-Man can now stick things to his back, the same way that he sticks to walls.

Also, here is the cover for ASM #531. I think they blacked out his costume so as to not give away what it looks like??? I don't know...

They've said that Iron Man and Captain America will lead opposite sides in Civil War, and hinted that Spider-man will owe a debt to Iron Man to side with him due to his suit.

Presumeably at some point Spider-man will decide Cap's the "right" side and will give up the suit renouncing his debt to Iron Man.

There's actually been quite a bit of working up to this. The "Iron Spidey" suit is supposed to "contain the spider" but this seems to go in the opposite direction Cap was going with Spidey; trying to get him to work with his instincts better, and suggesting that he get a costume that doesn't hide his face totally.

Kinda subtle stuff, I was really surprised to see the "Iron Spidey" suit as the new costume because I hadn't been reading about the Civil War things, just the interactions between Cap and Spidey.

Interesting... That could be, it breaks the sides along the lines I was guessing. (Mutants on one side, F4 on the other).

If they're really bringing the "Superhero (Mutant) registration act" back, I can't imagine Spidey being for it. And if the split is Cap/IM, IM would have to be pro-registration. But we've still got quite a while before Civil War starts up, so we'll see.

I like ultimate spiderman, it looks pretty fresh and kid Peter Parker has some spicey humor^^
I also have the game (ulitmate spiderman) watched both spidey movies went to New York not so long ago and bought me a spidey suit there.

Personaly, being a big venom fan, i enjoyed Ultimate Spiderman the game a lot. The graphics are bad ass. But as far as fighting style and movement goes, i think that Spiderman 2 is better. In ultimate spiderman all you gotta do is use that jump-home-in-kick thing over and over and your enemy cant do anything. It requires less skill than spiderman two. But playing as venom is totaly badass. Jumping off of the tall ass buildings is fun. And i was originaly dissapointed by the venom story in the comics, but after playing the game i dig it much more. And suckin people into your body to drain them of life is kick ass!

oh yeah, i love venom in the USM game. His free roam is sweet too, i love running from shield. The game was great, particularly the graphics, voice acting and overall style, but I just wish the story mode was longer.

as far as stories from the comics, kraven's last hunt, death of gwen stacy (and captian stacy), first master planner, spidey vs. the juggernaut, and the first few apperances of venom are the first that come to mind, but it's impossible for me to pick only a few.

ahh, yeah, the lizard is classic. I wished they used him more. But then again, maybe that's why he's so great, cuz he's not overused. Hmm, for me, I've always loved Doc Ock. He's like spidey's complete opposite, and had me loving him in his very first appearance. He was like the first to ever really defeat spidey also. There's so many others, but doc ock and Norman osborn (for being the cause of most of the horrible events in peter's life) are my top villans for the most part.

ah, the cartoon ending loooong ago, wish they made a new one again. As for comics, I usually get torrents from isohunt.com, they got all kinds of stuff. or I can reccomend some good spidey comics for you to narrow it down a little. Also, check the manga cult in the konoha library, they can help out a lot.

well, I don't know about that... the movies and the comics both have some great features to them, some they both have, and some are exclusive to one or the other. I don't care for the new style comics, so if we are comparing those two I take the movies hands down and happy, but the classic comics did have a certain magic.

Yes, I loved that last shot, freaking awsome, it did look like it came straight from the comic. It seems like every film so far has had a shot like that (Spidey 1: Goblin glider periceing norman. Spidey 2: Costume in trash can)

And yea, if we're counting all the comics, I would have to say they're way better than the movies. There's just far too many great stories my hundreds of different writers, and there's tons of comics that I'd wish they'd adapt to a film (like Kraven's last Hunt). But I don't really like to compare them, just enjoy them for what they are.

I agree, its alot more fun to just watch and enjoy in their own right. To some degree I feel a comic movie must match the comic is came out of, but I still loved alot of the movies that have been sort of different. Spidey seems quite accurate, actually. They only appear to have changed little things. ^_^

Finally got to see the high quality version on youtube =). I could see alot more things. I'm glad that Harry isn't in that old goblin suit. I didn't really like it that much, i prefer rubber :nod. That last shot does look amazing doesn't it, my fav part of the teaser =P. Heh i've not read a spidey comic in years. The last time i read one was probally 10 years ago, and it had the scarlet spidey in.

Yeah, I'm glad they chose to redesign the costume for harry. It suits him. But I really want to see it in full clear view.

And I'm happy to say that for the most part the movies have only changed some little things here and there, which is completely understandable. What matters the most are the characters, which are for the most part, spot on to they're comic counter parts.

Hmm i am a little disapointed in the black suit. Well in the cartoon it did just appear and covered him when he wanted the suit on, but in this it just looks like he has a black suit on, which he must put on and take off. Of course that's nothing major is it, it just looked cooler when it appeared =)

yeah, it seems to me like the black costume bit is a fragile and detailed area, so its easy to make fans either hyped or outraged. I'm leaning far towards hyped, but I am not as much about the suit as I would've been had it been more comic or TAS esque.

his new suit isn't anything like his old so for the first couple comics me and my friend were like what the f. but it has some pretty cool features such as morphing (visually) into what ever peter thinks of. and being bullet proof is pretty nice too.

has he actually used his extra arms for anything usefull yet?

and what i meant about the movies not capturing the essence of spiderman was this. no matter how you put it Tobey Maguire is no peter parker. tobey (i'm not sure anyone can) just can't capture peter parker the way the comics due. while as i said i do love the movies, and own both, tobey comes off as a chump compared to spiderman in the comics.

tony stark (iron man) made it for him since his last costume got completely destroyed.

he has cool new powers too since he died and was reborn with a more acceptence of his spider half. that was a crazy comic, and shows how badass spidey is. you can kill him but he'll just come back to life, at least that one time at least.
