View Full Version : NFL Week Thirteen Predictions!!!

Gold Knight

So what do we have here? Drumroll, please...

A whole weekend of divisonal play.

Four entire divisons, two in each conference, are involved in divisonal games against each other: the NFC South, the NFC North, the AFC West, and the AFC East.

There's also at least one divisional game in the rest of the divisions.

So on first glance, it looks to be a crucial weekend for a lot of would-be playoff contenders. Dallas, New York Giants, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Cincinnati... who will make it to the playoffs and who will not?

The heat's on!

Make your predictions here.

Sidenote 1: Asterisks will indicate divisional games.

I would totally agree with that.

On another note your not picking on the spread on the KC/Denver game KC has a point advantage on alot of spreads. Only the one fsn/espn use which was posted from last sunday has Denver at 2.

I go by the Sportsline.com spreads, which have DEN -1.5.
Bodog.com's sportsbook has the line at DEN -1.
Sportsbetting.com has DEN -1.5.
And I like Denver to win.

So the Broncos are the pick.

FUCK, DENVER, YOU NEED TO WIN THIS GAME!
If KC wins here, it's a huge blow to our wildcard chances. We need KC to lose two games plus one for every game we lose in the last four, and San Diego to lose one plus one for every game we lose in the last four.

Ohhhhhhhhhh fuck that's bad for Pittsburgh.
KC now needs to lose to two of these four: DAL, NYG, SD, CIN.

Denver driving to win, and we the Steelers need them to win it. KC needs to lose two games in their last five for us to have a shot at the last wildcard slot.

Pittsburgh playoff scenarios:
Division winner (#3/#4 seed): CIN loses 3 of 4, or 2 if losses to CLE and either KC or BUF, and PIT wins out. Adding one loss to each preserves this scenario.
Wildcard (#6):
SD loses one, KC loses two, PIT wins out, and JAX does not lose exactly two. Adding one loss to each preserves the scenario.
SD plays @ KC Week 16, and CIN plays @ KC Week 17. Most likely, it is to PIT's advantage if KC loses to both SD and CIN.
SD (7-4) plays: OAK, MIA, @IND, @KC, DEN. Expected losses: IND, KC, DEN.
KC (8-4) plays: @DAL, @NYG, SD, CIN. Expected losses: NYG, SD, CIN, possibly DAL.
CIN (9-3) plays: CLE, @DET, BUF, @KC. Expected losses: Possibly KC.
JAX (9-3) plays: IND, SF, @HOU, TEN. Expected losses: IND.
PIT (7-5) plays: CHI, @MIN, @CLE, DET. Expected losses: CHI, possibly MIN.
If every team loses expected games, the finishes are as follows:
CIN 13-3/12-4, AFC North champion
JAX 12-4, Wildcard #1
PIT 10-6/9-7, Wildcard #2 if 10-6 or KC 8-8
SD 9-7
KC 9-7/8-8
If SD and PIT end in a two-way tie, PIT wins Head-to-Head tiebreaker.
If PIT and KC end in a two-way tie, PIT loses Conference tiebreaker.
If three-way tie (PIT-KC-SD), PIT loses Conference tiebreaker.

12-2, by the way. Gained one on Cam, 2 on GK to move ahead of him in wins, and 3 on Illusion to draw even with him.

KC already has lost to SD horribly owned the whole game, you seriously think that the team(SD) which has the best record in the afc west against KC in december at home is going to loose? SD will loose to IND (tho last year they forced it to OT at indy home) and there will be a huge game against DEN which denver may scrape a win they are on fire this season. If chargers win one of those steelers will fall short.

KC will fall short because they will loose to the bengals and the SD, with tiebreakers for SD. The steelers and SD will be in a fight to the end for the WC with the Jaguars grabbing the first WC.

I oopsed that one, predicted both teams to lose. Actually, I expect SD to win, which puts them in a two-way tie with PIT, who wins based on Head-to-Head.
If PIT wins out, SD only has to lose one game (IND) and KC two (SD, any of the other three, all of which will be difficult).

KC will fall short because they will loose to the bengals and the SD, with tiebreakers for SD. The steelers and SD will be in a fight to the end for the WC with the Jaguars grabbing the first WC.
Correct.
I expect us to beat Chicago, but for the sake of consistency (I'm trying to avoid homer picks here), I put it as an expected loss.

Now they're coming back from a sunken ship to rocking the boat, and no, I do NOT mean the one at Lake Minnetonka. :tem

ROFL :laugh

Anyways chargers move to 6th in the afc with the second wc if it ended now. Its on their shoulders to make it now, they run the board they win the wc regardless, or maybe the division which is very hard and wont happen but its still in their hands and out of waiting for losses.

Not to mention the Vikes, who are now 7-5, were given up for dead.

The Vikings haven't exactly been playing top teams... they're more than beatable.

They still haven't finished their head-to-head with KC, and they have an extremely difficult schedule. Pittsburgh has the tiebreaker on the Chargers unless we end up with a three-way tie, which nullifies head-to-head.

Didn't we already discuss this haha, i said if they ran the table they would win the wc regardless. The pitt tie breaker is only if SD looses both those games. I said that it was improbable to win out the rest of their schedule but if they did they would win the wc or maybe even the division. Its in their hands they dont loose they go to playoffs no matter what the steelers do. They dont have to depend on losses anymore, whereas steelers do.

I wouldn't exactly call having to beat Indy, KC, and Denver being in control.

Nor do I say there in control not in the least, but its is still in their hands irregardless it hasnt been all season this is the first time they had it in their hands. I remind you I already said realistically the chargers wouldn't win the rest of the schedule, just stating it now possible for SD to go the playoffs even if the steelers win every game left this season. At 3-4 they were on the outside looking in now at 8-4 its completly different.

11-4 for me.

I don't actually feel too happy about it - I picked the wrong team in three huge games (Carolina-Atlanta, Cincinnati-Pittsburgh, and Kansas City-Denver).

So, eh, I don't feel like I did well this weekend.

But, at the moment I'm just sitting back and watching the Colts cruise. I'm fascinated with seeing how they will handle the rest of their season.

I don't think they'll have a letdown for the next two weeks at least; next week will be for the divison, and the week after that against San Diego will be for homefield advantage. Coach Dungy and Peyton (who's practically a coach himself too) will remind the others of all the rewards they'll get with winning these games.

And then there's Seattle.

It depends on whether they get too carried away with the "hype" of that game possibly being a preview of the Super Bowl. That's the game I predicted back on Thanksgiving that Indy would finally lose, because I don't think they will care much about it, and it's away from home. But who knows.

If they do manage to get thru Seattle unscathed, then they only have Arizona left. There's no way that Tony Dungy will tell Peyton to sit down, considering his consecutive streak of starts and history of being injury-free. Still, Arizona isn't likely to back down...

Well, anyway. Basically I only care about the Colts at this point, I'm having fun watching them, since the Titans' season ended a long time ago.

Poor eagles are getting gang raped. Actually nah I don't feel bad for them :xp, superbowl losers historically have a losing season the next. (The past five Super Bowl losers have followed up with a losing record the next season. The 2001 New York Giants, 2002 St. Louis Rams, 2003 Oakland Raiders, 2004 Carolina Panthers and now the 2005 Philadelphia Eagles)

Well I can pretty much say I am 16-0 now perfection is nice ^_^

Ugh. Formerly-went-to-my-high-school-guy McMahon threw two picks for touchdowns, neither of which should have been picks. Both times, the receiver didn't even try to catch the ball or tackle the defender, both of which could have been done easily.
The WRs for Philly are just uninspired.

Congrats, Redemption.

Yeah, Philly got demolished. Big time.

Well, sorry for taking so long to do this week's Predictions thread - I've had a busy last couple of days ( I'm always mad busy at the start of every month ). Working on next Predictions thread now, tho.

Naru-chacha, sorry I didn't notice your standings correction sooner.

Yeah, Minnesota beat Detroit and NY Giants and I still marked them as losses - I guess I was having a hard time believing it XD

I'll correct it on the next standings.

Thankies, Phil :hi5 :hi5

And who knew they'd be knocking on the Wild Card's door after that incident?
I too did not believe they beat NYG that day... xDDDDD
