Does even 4Kids know their dub version of one piece is amazingly crappy?

it may be crappy, but for new comers, do u think we really care? We don noe the original japanese version, hell, we don know what happened in the original to know what was cut out. Luffy and the crew's voices are new to us, so they don't sound weird. Watever happened in the episode, we think is the original, because we never saw the true original. As long as the story is kept and they maintain the same animation and wat else, I got no complaints on 4kids' behalf.. They are bringin us something new, stop whining. We never told you to watch the english dub along with us.

Exactly, maybe they could have fooled me before Sanji's voice actor but its pretty obvious the didnt.

Although you can tell they want too make some characters more popular then others so basically characters like Zoro or choppers quality will seem better then everyones elses simply because those are the kind of characters who will sell the most toys.

You could ask why not make them ALL have good dubs and make ALL there toys gross alot of money but it doestn work like that for 4kids why, BECAUSE THERE DOUCHE BAGS

This is not so much a normal dub complaint. This is becuase they actually did change the animation and so on.... so your point is absolutely redundant. Also people can complain about whatever the fuck they want, and they have the right to do so.

exactly. that's what pissess people off. They see the original, and then they see this craptastic dub that is being presented to america, and know that One Piece isn't getting represented like they think it should be.

4Kids is showing something completely new and different from the original and it's WORSE so people get mad because now a show that they love, is pretty much being ridiculed and being made for little kids when most of us are in our mid to late teens and older, so when we see kids running with 'One Piece' backpacks and people around us ridiculing anime because of 'this crappy show about pirates they saw once', it kind of angers us since the original wasn't created solely for young children.

I was exposed to the dub first, and could easily tell moments of edit.

For instance, it was obvious Sanji was smoking a cigarette, that it was a gun (not some crazy boxing glove thing or super soaker), and that people were being killed.

The 4kids dub is just hilarious. It might be because I don't have postivie opinions on the real version of One Piece, but I just watch it for laughs.

They edit out guns and put in shovels and boxing gloves...How ISN'T that funny?!

i think people complain more about this dub than the others since this is by far the worst..i do not like dubs personally but when you see an episode of Naruto and then right after an episode of One Piece you cant help to see the huge difference and laugh..its sad to see how one group can do a decent job on Naruto and see another group completely take a dump on One Piece

They hacked and slashed the original *magic*. Sure, it's Luffy and co on a pirate ship doing crazy things, but it doesn't have the same feel to it as it does in the japanese version.

I mean seriously it's easier watching barney (im not saying teletubbies cause I'd rather gauge my own eyes out 50 times then to watch that) 8 hours in a row than to listen to these wannabe same 5 voice actors doing almost the same voices each and every week.
I mean Naruto is okay because i was praying to God each and every night "please don't the translators of this anime be the same people who translate the manga" I think they did a decent job on it. I think that the best anime that was dubbed with the highes quality and accuracy is Fooly Cooly (jsk to the people who still call it Furi Kuri it isn't what it's called. In case you haven't noticed, even in the last ep Mamimi writes her photograph fooly cooly. I mean the anime was really funny with many parody's but i have to say that was the best quality, closest voice actors, and above all they accually kept the anime intact, and they didn't even cut it up that badly.

The best and I mean the best dubbers out so far is ADV. They accually do quality dubbing.

As I played Grand Battle Rush, I sometimes had to look at the Japanese names and try to figure out who they refered to (eventually refering to either the guide or the artwork section). Among all of this, it is blatantly obvious that it has to be spelled Zoro.

The symbol for "ro" is pretty much a square. As I looked through the other characters of Grand Battle, I found that many other names have this same symbol. Among them are Robin, Crocodile and Kuro. And furthermore, Zoro's surname is Roronoa. And there are definitly two "ro" symbols there. All of the names with this symbol remained as "ro" except Zoro.

I guess it can be true, since there is a lot of dumbs kids and I can see them get confuse over something like this. Anyways this is what 4kids think of their audience.

Yeah, that is the katakana for 'ro'. But that doesn't matter, seeing as there aren't any L's in the japanese language...

However R's are pronounced halfway between english R's and L's, so I guess thats where confusion may come in. May also be how Marik from yugioh became Malik. (Another 4kids dub...:oh )
