The problem may be that you are saving the file as a Paint file, rather than a .jpeg. Next time, try clicking Save As... and changing the file type to .jpeg. Let me know if that works.:amuse

Hi, ok I don't have any photoshop or anything but I heard you can resize avatars from pictures at Paint, I know how to resize them just odn't know how to upload them. Any help? also when I resize a 80x80 image to 100x100 and save it, I later try to add it as my avi here and it says it is to large for this site the minimum is 1??x1?? (i forget what dimensions). So I must be doingn something wrong, so please all help appreciated.

you don't know how to upload them onto a picture hosting site? or are you talking about actually uploading them straight to your avatar control panel? :huh

Also, for future reference, images tend to look 10x better if left the way they are, instead of increasing their sizes in MS paint. When you do this, they tend to take on a pixelated look. But shriking them down really has no effect on them, other then the fact that the image gets smaller. ^_^

Well the thing is where I get my images from they are 125x125, and I prefer 80x80 so when I do shrink them they look very blury, so I am going to look for photoshop tomarrow, anyone have any idea ow much that will cost?

BTW I saved it as .jpeg. and it worked. thankyou.

The one u mention b4 is the pixel dimension. Kb in other word, Kilo bits. If you right click on a image > properties (on any avatar like yours or anyone in the forum) you can see how big is the file. And note that almost everyone use *.JPG/*.JPEG for avatar coz it small and you may also use *.GIF which a looping animated avatar. Get PS or any image viewer like ACDSee to edit it, save the file in correct dimension (pixel size) and check the file size. Most site need the avatar to be <10Kb if larger it will not uploaded. If can't try shrinking the pixel dimension a bit like 95% of the original size. If still can't that mean u have problem with uploading file. Your ping sux and TTL timeout, use url instead get it uploaded at photobucket or imageshack then link the file from there instead uploading to the forum SERVER. If still can't, press ALT + F4 and ultimate resolve avatar uploading problem.

MSpaint tend to save all files in huge formats and on another note you CAN NOT make a small picture, bigger with any program that are out now with decent quality. You either have to redraw-color it or just leave it as it is.

lol ok, I still havn't received my adobe photoshop CS, how much is it going to cost? Any estimates?
