Soul Society Roleplaying- Hear me out

The idea was sparked when I heard the name and I really like this idea. Here is the plan. We create a Soul Society of new Shinigamis. You know how our Division thread is boosting with craziness? So many people would enjoy this and we could actually roleplay.

Thing is, we would need a subforum with Stickies such as "Character Profiles" and such so we would know what is happening. A text based RPG might sound a little dumb but I'm sure a lot of people would contribute. And we could incorporte the Zanpaku names and abilites and this would be just a huge place to put all of this in.

Good idea. I did play online-rpgs in forums myself and if you really want to pull off something like that you will definitely need a good and/or experienced game leader that animates the players, designes and leads a good plot and keeps idiots from powergaming, which especially in SS could become a big problem. ^^;

What we do though, is that each Division will have something to do or if they don't, then they can have leisure time like a cafe and talk there. Missions or something can keep them entertained or sparring.

Also, I have been an online RPer for about 3y ears and a Admin of it for the same amount of time so I know how to handle those little noobs.

Which is a great thing! I didn't mean to doubt your integrity.:amuse I'm just a bit careful when someone comes up with a new rpg because I have seen many fail due to noobs who don't know how to pull a good play or because of leaders who don't know how to manage a plot. :laugh

I hope there will be more people who are interested in this, it could be fun.

I like this idea, I;d like to do an rp but most places that have enough people to make them work tend to be well set up and hard to get started in.

Sounds like you are experienced as well which is a big plus, I see many things like this start but fail because the person who was responsible just didn;t know what they were doing

Vizards wouldn't be allowed for right now....but soon enough they could. You know, so we don't spoil ANYTHING for the anime only.

My plan is to have a forum called Soul Society RP.

Subforums would be:
Central 46 (Subforum for Announcements)
Gates of Entrance (where noob threads go)
Mission HQ (Where missions are handed out. These missions get cokmpleted by you doing your text RP in the thread. If it's a sucess, thread is locked and recycled. If not, people come in and help you.)
Soul Society Cafe- Where the ones not working just come by and chat. (In character)
Sparring- All spars between each others are here. There are also tournaments for sparring.
Division Houses- This is where the divisions reside. Here are where mission forms get signed, you just live your life among your division.

Divisions would be filled up such as this. All first come, first serve
Captain- Captain is the overlord of the division. He is one of only two spots that can use bankai.
Vice Captain- Second in charge, when captain is gone, VCs take care of their division
1st Seated- duh
2nd Seated- duh
4th seated- duuuuuh
5th seated- duuh

For now that would be how a division would be set up. 7 people but if all places are filled up, then we could make other seats

To get higher, you would need to beat the next person up your seat for the title. Barbaric-yes, useful- yes.

And if we get really far, military and special forces could be in. And ryoka are everywhere, and someone might adopt you!

I would like only one thing though: to be head of the Gotei 13.

the only problem with that is if you get people playing in a god mod style and refusing to accept that their character can be defeated i.e. a vc getting a good mauling from a captain but refusing to accept that they might have been brutally squashed. Or a 2nd seat possibly being defeated by a 3rd but refusing to 'play fair' and not accept moving down a place.

I'd have no problems with that, especially if you were in charge of all/most of the admin side of things.

i'm soooo in this if it actually gets to happen....Are we going to have to create our own characters or could I be Renji? Another thing...Would we have to follow whats already set or can I put Renji back in the 11th squad and basically do my own thing from there? This sounds so cool... I couldn't pass this up. Anyways...Let me know what's going down....I'd love to be involved in this....Allowing Zabimaru to howl again in the 11th divison.

We would put in a leveling system as in what happens to you so you know how strong everyone else is. Captains start out level 40, and all that. For every 2 battles, you gain a level, and you know. If a person is 4 levels ahead of you, no chance you'll make it out alive.

Missions are to be performed such as level 40 hollow, with no captain. So the whole division would be put to the test if they can, and somebody will GM and make it pretty hard- or somebody will be playing the part of the hollow.The more missions, the more leveling you get. Missions would be spread accordingly.

No calling captains. I think we're going to have to impose a rule like in the divisions thread. To be Captain is 800 and VC is 600.And you can't pick now.

I'm waiting for an admin to hear about this and see what they think.

Well, at Naruto & Bleach Mania Forums (http://www.narutomania.com/forums) there's already a Soul Society RP (in which, I am the Soutaichou <_<), and it could do with some expanding seeing as it's been as slow as hell lately. Any kind of collaberation possible?

I'm sorry, but from what I've heard from people like NN and Vash, this just won't happen. They don't want a repeat of TheSatos, which is what this could very well turn into. But there is an RPG section at www.bleachforums.com (http://www.bleachforums.com), if that will do.

It might work, though, if we get rid of the problem that caused TheSatos to be gotten rid of. Just institute a "Talk about RPG Area in sections other than its own (it would have its own Complaint threads and such in there)=Ban" thing. First offense, a day. Second, a week. Third, a month. Fourth, perm. But something like that could be difficult to inforce, considering the size of the forums and the length of certain fanclubs and spam threads.
Ultimately, though, it's up to the staff (who will most likely say no, based on what I've heard on the subject of RPGs).

Seen as you seem to like this one, why do we need one here? Why have a Bleach roleplaying section on a Naruto-based forum, when there isn't even a Naruto one? Something doesn't quite seem right about that...

The ultimate problem with this would be it would branch out. Seen as Bleach has one, people would want a Naruto RPG section too. Then, the One Piece people might want one.
If anything, we should get a Naruto RPG here before anything else. That way, we can test the waters with it (and we'd have one that would actually go with the forum theme and wouldn't have people going "We've wanted a Naruto RPG section for ages and we never got one. How come you gave Bleach a section and not us? Why do you let them have one, but deny us one?", ect, ect). If it works, then a Bleach one might eventually be considered. However, if it didn't, then the RPG section would be destroyed (again), and Bleach definently wouldn't get one. The above would be the best couse of action to take, IMO. :amuse
