How to convert images to RGB color mode in Photoshop?

As the title topic suggested, when I want to burn a image in photoshop, it propmts me to convert the image to RGB color mode. Does it mean it have to be a JPEG image instead of PNG image??:P

Nope. They want you to do this:

Image->Mode->RGB color.

Your image is probably set on Indexed color or something. Where did you get the image from?
