Kurotsuchi Mayuri, Good or Evil? [Archive]

What do you think of this Kurotsuchi Mayuri Captain of 12th Division? Is he a villian or just it seems so just like Byakuya who is not?
Do you think he will show to be just misunderstood or will become a major villian later?
Urahara and him are of the same type, maybe that's why they won't probably be good guys. But Yoruichi and Soi Fong are. What do you think of this?
I like his abilities. I hope he becomes a shinigame :laugh

He is a shinigami.

He's an evil bastard. He has a daughter that he created (DRr. Frankenstien) and treats like shit, even though she's completely devoted to him. He conducts Nazi-like experiments and doesn't ive a rats ass about anyone other than himself.

He's lucky he's a shinigami, that's all I gotta say, or else we'd want him dead. Well, we want him dead anyways.

While that is true, people who are evil are those that dont care about anyone else but their self. So ya, he is Evil but isn't on Aizen or SS's side.

I can honestly say that there isn't any possible sob story flashback that Kubo can write to make him "misunderstood;" the guy's a twisted bastard, no two ways about it. Sure, he's not affiliated with the main villain (as far as we know), but the man's still evil.

...Or did I miss something?

Considering he isn't evil or good, I think he has something behind his back thats gonna completely throw SS off. How could anyone trust someone that can pull hooks out of his ears anyways =/

But we didn't see anyone die, minus fakes and flashbacks, and no one has left the cast. People can obviously die in SS, otherwise Aizen's fake death would have been seen through pretty damn easily and there wouldn't be a need for the fourth division.

he is evil to the bones and i think that if SS would totally know about all his "tests" he would be in deep shit.

I don#t think that most of his experiments were official, and i also doubt that this has already happend when urahara were director of the research institute.

Byakuya becoming misunderstood was hinted from the very start, and him turning "good" was obvious I think. Mayuri however, is the representation of evil/insanity. There is no way he will ever turn good.

Mayuri's sheer evilness is above that of even Aizen, who is the main villain of the series.

Mayuri, quite simple, does not give a f***. He`s the brand of evil that`s in it only for his own goals; he`s not interested in the ideals or the goals of others, only his own. I believe he`s going to join Aizen`s side as the Anti-Urahara and the fourth Traitor Captain. Some time in the future, Uryuu will probably either A) Kill him off, or B) Spare him to some ungodly fate and make off with Nemu.

Mayuri is pretty much just as evil as Aizen. If Soul Society didnt have a nice lab for him to work in, he would have disappeared long ago.
He killed his own men, beats the crap out of his daughter and was going to kill Ikkaku.

I'm sure his inventions have helped to save numerous lives.

Yeah, Mayuri's a real freakshow. In his fight against Ishida he's made out to be crazy, self-serving, and annoyingly hard to kill - kinda like a cockroach.

But at the same time, I feel like Kubo likes this particular creation of his, and Kubo wants us to at least be interested in Mayuri. Check the Colorful Bleach/Karaburi manga extras: the ones Mayuri's involved in feature him as slightly dense, funny, awkward, though still kinda creepy.

I don't get it. Mayuri's evil, cruel, and violent, but I don't think we're supposed to hate him (Even though I do).

Seems to me that someone's forgotten that a certain KAIEN died.
He was named (shiba kaien infact), and he died. Yes, it was a flash backwards, but he was named and he died.

Mayuri is an evohl mofo. He doesn't hang with Aizen, because he's got everything he wants in SS[oh, btw; nazi experiments + ss=schutzstaffel, an organization in/of nazi germany. HOLY CRAP, yo] to experiment with everyone and everything he wants. Who would want to leave paradise? Evil as hell.

No. Byakuya did not torture anyone. In fact, he only involved one person (Rukia) and he fought several other people but he never actually killed them off. Mayuri would have tortured them to death.

The problem about this (if you think about it seriously) that you can say the same thing about some guys from germany, 60 years ago.

Sorry, man... But there's something known as anesthetics. Mayuri didn't use those. If you're trying to "cure" something, make sure that the solution is not worse than the problem.

In this case Mayuri is trying to solve undefined scientific problems by torturing people to death. There are other ways. Yes.
