in the manga the big pool that he was lowered into was connected to his "father" and the killing of him returns the philosophers stone, and the soul/whatever the homonculus took when it was created is returned as well

oh, well you remember when Envy was talking bout Greed about what he did with "the skull"? well later on that's what's in the bag that the crimson alchemist takes, and that's what the bones are that Greed seems repelled by. well, according to the anime, when a homonculus is close to the bones/whatever it was created from then they are weakened, thus is why Greed was able to be killed by Ed

Greed was one of Dante's children he died and she obviously had the bones left over. Dante paralyzed him to use the seal to remove his redstone thus ridding him of his lives exept for one. Then Ed can in and killed him

The last chapter (54) is where Greed is now reborn. xP total asstastic (lol I just watch Just Shoot Me) if you ask me. The anime confused me a lot...especially when Archer gets the half robot body. I don't know recall how he got it...Greed is cool...welcome narutorulez ^-^;
