Can anyone become a shinigami?

I've got to thinking and really find myself at a loss here. Hear me out before you kick up an arguement, I think I've got an interesting point here.

Okay, what seperates a Shinigami from a regular person? We can pretty much sum this up with two distinct differences.
1) Spirit Energy
2) Soul Cutter

Lets start with the basics, spirit energy. If you remember correctly, Ichigo had his spirit energy cut by Byakuya early in the season. Urahara then went on to tell him that he's basically a regular person now, until he can restore it. This is what interests me, maybe everyone has the ability to activate spirit energy, just some of them have an easier time or are born with it all ready connected and others don't. Now some of you are going to argue, "No, with spirit energy its a one way street, you either have it or you don't." Well here is my question to you, how do you explain hollows then? When a person becomes a hollow, out of no where they get spirit energy great enough for even Ishida to pick up. My theory is that when a person becomes a hollow, that hollow knows how to activate their spirit energy and bring out their power. If you also look at Orihime and Sato, you'll see that they gained their spirit energy just like how Ichigo regained his. Heck, Sato couldn't even see spirits when we first met him.

Now lets work on part two, soul cutters. If you look at how the Gotei 13 works, they admit pretty much anyone that has spirit energy. They train and train until finally graduating from the shinigami academy. Now I'm interested here, if a soul cutter is just a part of someone's soul, then in theory, everyone should have a soul cutter deep inside of them. They just need to gain and train their spirit energy enough so that they'll be able to pull it out.

In my opinion, Hollows and Shinigami are a Yin and Yang thing. Everyone has the power to become either.

Don't know if I agree with the other parts of your posts cause I am having a hard time disecting it. Everyone does have the power imo but I don't know if everyone has the power to become a Shinigami. Remember Ichigo when regaining his Shinigami powers back must fight to not become a Hollow. I do not think everyone has the ability that Ichigo has to resist becoming a Hollow.

In bleach, everyone is unique. Not everyone is born with a zanpaku. For example, kenpachi dosent even have a sword. he just uses it because he cant use anything else. Now, that girl fighting yuori (spelling) has a strange zanpaku thats not even a sword. Now, chad has some kind of power that makes his arm incredibly strong. Orihime has some strange abbility where complete midgets become strong.

See what i mean? Anyone could gain a power, but not everyone is the same.

Thats a good question, and to answer this question im goin to lock myself in my basement with anything that could possibly be my Zanpakutou. Then once i finally realize just how strong i truely am, i'll be gone again so i can achieve bankai...seriously that is a good question. I dont think anybody can become a Shinigami naturally but if its done the way that Ichi got his powers then yes. I may be wrong but didnt rukia say that any human can become a shinigami temp. if you use that method?

Rietsu is probably the main factor of becoming a shinigami... I think you must have a lot of spirit energy in order to be considered into the academy. Based on Renji's flashback, the kids were all telling Renji to become a shinagami because of his rietsu. Rukia jumps in a shows off her rietsu which is more than Renji's. Some people may never achieve rietsu high enough to become shinigami. Only talented few has the ability.

When Ichigo became human because of Byakuya, that isn't true. Ichigo was a special hybrid. Ever since he was a human, he always had shinigami power sleeping inside of him. Urahara pointed it out that Ichigo has his own powers hidden inside. That training by Urahara only works for Ichigo. So Ichigo was never a true a human, even after Byakuya incident, Ichigo was still "shinigami".

For Orihime and Sado, I think most of their power came from Ichigo. Ichigo had huge amount of rietsu. He's unable to control it yet so it flows like crazy. I think some of his rietsu flowed into Orihime and Sado. Didn't Orihime's 6 star thing said that they were born because of Ichigo?

Well for starters, you have to be dead or a disembodied soul.
Sado and Orihime's powers work when they are flesh & blood. So do the powers of the Quincy. Ichigo needs to disembody.

Death gods are usually dead.
Now here's the thing about Ichigo & co.
Presume for a moment, that spiritual powers can be accessed by the living.

Secondly, perhaps spirit-power can be trained like a very particular muscle, although if you don't know how to use it, the training won't do much and you'll end up like Don Kanonji.

Orihime and Sado, were still alive when they were exposed. This means, that unlike the death gods, they can train and have a much steeper power curve.

In other words, it's probably easier to gain spirit pressure when alive then when dead, although almost none of those living know how to train it properly.

When you said you have to have both Soul Cutter and Spirit Power...you make it seem that easy,I mean most of these people,the reason they became Shinigami was because they were born with SUCH high Reiatsu,while people like Orihime and CHad had to train for like 10 days to aquire such weak ass powers... also,you have to know how to use the soul cutter which i wont even get into because Ichigo is the perfect example for this. Ichigo was just lucky or was he? that he was born with immense spirit power

Well, if you think about it, yes anyone could become a Shinigami. Renji, Rukia, etc. were both small fries when they were younger. Not until they begun to practice and hone their reiatsu did they reach a certain level to even be considered for the Gotei 13. So, technically any brat with will (energy level crucial for any sort of consideration) could enter the ranks and even surpass all others (prime example being chibi Hitsu). With respect to Hollow and Shinigami being the ying to one's yang, I'm inclined to disagree. Yes, both have unusually high levels of reiatsu, but the former molds it much differently than the latter (speculation, of course). I only say so because the attacks that Hollows seem to use greatly differ from the attacks that Shinigami use. Furthermore, you don't choose to become a Hollow (err, yes you can say that a soul is explicitly unable to choose their Shinigami destiny either but technicalities XD). One seems to be a forced transformation, so it really doesn't complement a Shinigami's path.

Well, I don't read the manga, so I'm not too familiar with the abilities of a Quincy. From what I understand, they aren't souls, right? They're living beings on our plane with amazing reiatsu. In order to become a Death God, well...you have to be dead.* XD

*Yes, I know, Ichigo is an obvious exception. :P

Shinigami and Quincies are different. Quincies naturally have reiatsu (spiritual power) but are normal, living people who can summon the reiatsu around them and use it to their own will.

The reason why Ichigo has his own reiatsu because he was a Shinigami from the beginning. Urahara said to get his powers back is to become a Shinigami. And yes I'm also assuming that when you become a Shinigami, you are born with your own Zanpakutou and ones that are powerful can comminucate with the spirits of their Zanpakutous like Renji or Ichigo.

Also Sado and Orihime are NOT shinigami. Ichigo's influence on them casued them to unlock their own spiritual powers though it is curious why they are not shinigamil.
