As you know, spoilers will not be tolerated, blah blah blah.......
And now......I give you......
Episode 11: “The land where a hero once lived”
1) After Sakura kicks the thief, there should be blood coming out of him, it was replaced by spit on the dub.
2) Somehow, during Tazuna’s flashback, Inari called his dog “Poochie” on the dub, while the original referred it as “Pochi”, weird
3) All shots of Kaiza being beaten up by Gato’s thugs were cut away, and replaced by Gato and both his main thugs
4) Kaiza’s blood on his face was painted off, but Holy Inconsistencies, Patman, just look at the next edit......
5) When Kaiza was tied to the post, his arms were actually painted off, however, they got painted off with the impression that they were tucked to his shirt by the sides, they were NOT edited out (Many thanks to Manetheren for the correction)
BTW, did anyone of you notice that the cross (horizontal wood) was edited out, possibly to downplay religious stereotyping? Since Kaiza was virtually crucified.
6) After the commercial break, there’s a shot of dusk, in the original, spraying blood should appeear instead.
Discuss now......and keep your noses off the funny stuff

5) And the unbelievable happened, though it’s a long explanation, the manga, as some of you know, had Kaiza’s arms cut off, then the original anime (as by Japanese standards, and yeah, there are standards practiced), shows his arms, but in bad shape. Here’s the shocker: THE DUB PAINTED OFF KAIZA’S ARMS, AS TO GIVE THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY WERE INDEED CUT OFF. The weirdest of dubs has finally appeared here.
huh?
I'm assuming you are refering to the cross scene.
They actually editted it by removing the arms and crossbar of the cross. then replaced the arms, hanging at his sides, bruised and beaten.
They didnt give the impression that they were cut off.

I thought his arms were badly beaten in the dub, and shown as purple.

I think I may have to watch again to see about the arms. I just thought they were at his sides under long blue sleeves.
Stewie-san, you're fast.

What about when the guy grabs Sakura's ass? Seems like they cut out some of that part.

I don't think they cut out anything from that part, just the blood from where she kicked, like Mario-san listed.
It was funny. She does a good Sakura-freaking-out scream.

Indeed, the Batman movie (the '89 Live Action, FYI) will take up at least 2 1/2 hours..

IF anyone cares, a good ammount of Background Music was exchanged for other type of tunes.
1. Where Tazuna is talkign to the other worker.
There are other parts but a lot of music

Yeah they changed the orginal music in one scene! What was that about!!! A big thing was that they were going to keep all the orginal music!
Also the whole cross scene was a terrible edit! His arms were BLUE!!!! It's funny how in the manga he had arms since they were cut off beforehand! In the japanese anime add arms to him! Then the dub edits his arms and then redrews them on in a differnt postion BLUE!!! How messed up was that scene. Not to mention that since he wasn't pinned up he looked like he was just leaning against a pole waiting to die!

The arms *were* blue in the original; Viz didn't add that.
Frankly, what was their alternative for this scene? Change the log cross to a wooden wall? :blink :P

They took out the cross to keep out any religious references...One Piece and any non-adult swim anime do it all the time.
But hey, if this was 4kids they would of said he was taken prisoner or something...

I think it's silly to edit out the crosses, heck, they don't even have an accurate depiction of crucifying. If anything, they were putting him out to display to the public, not nailing his arms to the cross, letting his arms hold the weight of his body to restrict his breathing, and leaving him out for several days. Besides that, many people were crucified in the past, not only Jesus, so in my opinion, cross edits are stupid and ignorant.
