hello i'm running my first vbulletin and i would like to know how to hide child forums under parent forums?

in my forum child forums just seem to appear under their parent forum no matter what

I wish it would only appear when going into parent forum but i don't find an option for that:blink

Haha. I used to have an admin job like KnK and Occa. (Megamod sorta thing)

Well, first you need to create the forum.

Forum Manager ->Add new forum->Check off "no" on forum is active.
From there, I believe it's Forum Permissions->Your Child Forum->Edit the options of the user groups you don't want to view the forum. (Check off no on pretty much everything.)

That's a hidden forum like the bathhouse; he wants to know how to make all the forums appear on the main list, I believe.

Which is under VB options.

Change the indicated values to some high number like 10, and all your forums will display.

With like 70 odd forums, this obviously isn't an option here on NF.

Thanks to NN for closing the thread where I ask for help
NN, I was asking KnK not you, so please ignore me kthxbye

Dear KnK,
I'm looking for a way to:
1.display user info on the left of posts instead of top (is there an option somewhere?)
2.sig update in all user posts whenever a sig is updated

thx in advance.

Sichibi Kabuto, you should read some of the vBulletin FAQ's they have on there site.

anyone willing to help? I don't understand the question.

When you update your sig, it applies to all previous posts, because those posts are all referencing the sig.

That's how VBulletin works it. Other BB systems use other methods (i.e. some just post the content of your sig into the posts, on those boards, the sig will not retropectively apply.)

my vbulletin (3.5.1) doesn't work this way by default
whenever i updated my sig my former posts keep old sig :/

IIRC it was that way on NF forums too then it was fixed
there shoud be an option somewhere but i don't find it with other sig options under "User Profile Options"

Hmm... that's strange.

The sig instead part of the post, so I wonder how it could possibly NOT update :laugh

I'll look into it.
