Please check it out at hxxp://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=95820 (change the x's to t's in the url). I'd like a rating of it, but please do not give me useless criticism. Also, take a little time to check out my journal to see the progress of my second project.

wow, that was pretty damn good for your first vid man. I enjoyed it more that the average naruto/sasuke videos out there. Nicely done my man.

thanks man. would you mind rating it in the following categories: timing, use of effects, content, and appeal with a 5 or 10 point scale? it would really help me develop my abilities to see where my strengths and weaknesses are.

Well one thing I gotta say:
The mood of the song fitted pretty damn well with the actual video!
I also likes the effects, because they also fitted with the mood and weren't overdone.
Keep it up :thumbs

my question is how long did it take as far as days or weeks not overall hours.

overall, it was about a month in-progress, but I only actually worked on it for like 2 weeks. it was something like this:
1 day: planning
2 days: obtaining audio and video footage for editing
7 days: editing and piecing together the first workprint
17 days: summer vacation
3 days: going over and fixing timing, replacing footage, adding in touches here and there, putting it into final authored format

of course, technically if you want to count in the whole time, you might add in about 2 months for the original concept (I was watching the series one day, and as soon as I saw the Sasuke-Naruto fight, I immediately thought: this will be turned into an AMV, and I will damn well do it myself), possibly 2 more months for motivation (I decided I would make an AMV as soon as I saw some works over at a convention), and maybe a whole extra 3 years, because that's when I first heard the song while watching an impressive DragonBall Z AMV done from one of the TV specials (it was about Goku and Bardock, if you care to know). So, for the most part, a little more than 2 weeks, kind of a rush job

That's actually a lot more than many people spend making their first video. Myself included, although I haven't yet done anything anime related. You got some patience :)
