Very teaser ass episode.:P Yoroichi looks gud young, and in all, what we thought Ichigo was gonna do in this episode, that we thought he was gonna do from the preview of 56, was false. THAT IS DEFINETLY ACTUALLY THE NEXT EPISODE! THE PREVIEW was done awesomely! Unlike Naruto, they didn't actually show u da spoiler!

Loved this episode, especially the Yoru/Soi flashback... brilliantly done I thought.

The next episode, I believe, will be the best of the series so far barr none. The animation looks spectacular. Really can't wait! :D

I enjoyed this episode much more than expected, Soi Fong's flashback was way better than in the manga.

just got done watchifying the raw, nice ep.

the flashback stuff was done really nicely and we finally catch up with what ikkaku;s been doing. The Ichigo/Byakuya part was done nicely except for the moment when Ichigo uses his attack against Byakuya's shikai, I disliked his stance but thats just a minor niggle.

This was a very exciting episode. It would've been better as a one-hour special or something.:laugh Anyway... the Yoroichi x Soi Fong flashback was okay, but I was more eager to see Ichigo and Byakuya. The betting of sake by Ikkaku and that other guy was pretty funny though.:P Finally... that little bit of Shikai from both was enough to whet my excitement, but... now I'm just eager for next week's episode... which, from the looks of the preview, will probably become a bankai battle. Yay! I haven't read the manga, so I'm considering this as speculation rather than spoiling.:P

i just finished watching this episode and it was pretty good, usually when they give flashbacks of characters its always boring for me but not this one. The only thing that dissapointed me from this episode is that they only showed like 5 minutes of the ichigo, I wanted more.

wow. that was probably the best episode i have seen thus far in the series. i don't know why, really, but it was extremely, extremely well done. very well animated, loved the music throughout the flashback, couldn't have asked for more. i don't look forward to the byakuya/ichigo fight anymore than i look forward to other episodes, but it looks interesting. anyway, fantastic ep. they developed soi fong and yoruichi's relationship very, very well, much better, i thought, than in the manga. ill stop babbling now, i just cant get over how much i liked this ep

I have to give that episode two thumbs up. Well done flashback, and I like how the battle between Soi Fong and Yourichi ended. No winner or no loosers. I hope to see more well played out scenes like this in the future episodes.

^ can it really be said like that when one opponent stops short of catching a fist to the face and slumps on the ground. I find it hard to call that bought a draw though Im glad no one got messed up too bad.. anyway good ep. Emotional part of the series, I guess I wasnt the onlyone hoping for the two to kiss and make up. They did a great job of making you go from disliking a ruthless character to feeling sorry for her. Hope they keep up the good work with 58, and it should be one of the best.

This ep was great!!! We finally find out why Soi Fon is so pissed off. She clearly loves Yourichi. It's so sweet.

Damn, they went alittle off with the relationship between those two gals, than Kubo did for the manga. I could swear that after Soi Fon said "I dedicate my body and soul to serve you" or some shit like that, Yoruichi raped her! Being the young and blind girl that she was, she probably thought that that was "love". In which led to this freak- out of a character that we now know as "Crying Soi Fon". But then again, with the way they did the flashback, lookin back, it doesn't make sense of all that fighting in episode 56 between them. Especially with Yoruichi coming in at of nowhere dragging Soi Fon and having an energy ball ready to injure.:P

Very pleased with 57, still many pieces left to put together. Is it me, or did I totally miss how Ichigo reached Bankai? Guess I've to to rerun back through to see if I missed one of the episodes.

Someone mentioned a possible movie, wonder when that will come out and how'll they would fit it in.

Episode 57 was awesome though. I like it when Byakya fights with his soul slayer (sakura petals scatterd)

The flashback was very well done, like all have said. Although it gave me the impression of more a bit on the SoiFong x Yoruichi side. It was still good.
But still, that developed Soi Fong so well, maybe a bit too emotional but still very well.

Tells you why she's doing this and how she became that kind of person she is.
She trusts no one lol, and kills whoever gets in her way. She doesnt even seem to have a good relationship with her VC compared to all the other captains.

I just watched it today so I have to say it's awesome. The jan ken po with Iba and Ikkaku was certainly funny. Ichigo finally made the high-and-mighty Kuchiki bleed. I look forward to the next episode. ^^

Bankai here we come! This ep was pretty sweet, though I thought the way Soi Fong cried like a schoolgirl was pathetic. Is it just me or does it make you happy when Byakuya looks shocked? Makes me wanna yell "Bet ya didn't see that one coming, ya smug prick!"

Kuchiki is so boring... "I see, youve completely mastered Shunpou." He seems reluctant to fight. The Kenpachi fight was much better, even the short encounter with Gin had more bite than this.

The Yourichi/Soi Fon thing was less than i expected, screw the anime im reading the manga from now on.

You're right! I was suprise when Byakuya spilled his blood. He fought with Renji before but didn't spill a little blood. That left me wondering about Ichigo new ablilies, is he stronger Byakuya now? (I mean really strong)

The ending of the battle between Soi Fon and Youichi was really touching. I was moved when I read it in the manga, but the anime just made it even better. Defintiely can't wait for the next episode, things are getting exponentially better.

That was an awesome episode indeed. The flashback and fight with Soi Fong and Yoruichi kicked ass. I felt bad for Soi Fong at the end... really touchy moment.

That episode seemed to have gone by so quick... it felt like only 10 minutes. I can't wait for the next one... hopefully, Lunar won't goof again. :)
