Ok here is the link to the new King Kong Trailer.
http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/king_kong/
Now here is what I am wondering, which do you think is better, or do you think they both suck? All I know is that I am really looking forward to seeing this movie. I think both trailers had their positives. I personally liked the sound for the first trailer more than the second trailer. This might have something to do with the change in music composers from Howard Shore (LotR) to James Newton Howard (Batman Begins). Although, I don't think they usually are not involved in trailer music. I also didn't like the actor's voices in the second trailer... granted there wasn't that much talking in the first trailer, but when they did it sounded better (although I loved Jack Black's opening voice over in the second trailer). I also miss the loud roar from Kong that was in the first trailer (it appears that they got rid of that, although I do like the new way that he landed much more). Speaking of which, the action in the second trailer was much better than the action in the first trailer, so I will definitely be looking forward to seeing 3 hours of such eye candy. Hell I might just see Jar Head just to see these 3 minuets of action on the big screen. Looking forward to hearing your opinions on the matter.
All and all though, the sound crippled the second trailer, so I voted for the first option.
P.S. The "Look Inside" "trailer" is really cool as well, with "exclusive" footage (i.e. footage that isn't in either trailer).

You probably haven't watched any of the production diaries at Kongisking.net (the official unofficial King Kong web page), but if I remember correctly Jack commented on Peter allowing him to add some of his hummor to the movie (I believe he snuck in a Megadeath (or some rock band) reference into the Kong Movie. But just because he started off in comedic rolls doesn't mean that he cannot play the serious roll well. Jack did a good job in both the Jackel and Enemy of the State. Although Robin Williams is best known for his comidic rolls, some of his best movies are serious, Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society. I thought he did an above average job in the movies Hook, Insomnia and Jumanji. But back on topic, you never said which trailer you liked the most, or am I to assume that you didn't like either?

I cannot wait to see those sences (I think there is going to be more than one incounter with the mighty lizard). But I guess it is called a V-rex, a proposed evolutionary track for the T-rex if it did not go extinct, in some book (cannot remember the title if any one does please post it here).

Poooooooor Rex, evolution only made him weaker.
Consider this.
A leopard can, and has indeed been proven to overpower a full-grown male gorilla. This is no easy feat, considering the gorilla is bigger than the leopard, and the leopard is actually used to hunting prey such as antelopes, which are smaller than itself.
A Tyrannosaur-Rex, has also been proven to have fought and killed prey equal or even bigger than itself, one of the mightest known as the Triceratops.
While a gorilla loses to a smaller leopard(used to killing things smaller than itself), I can't believe Rex(used to killing things bigger than itself) would lose to a smaller King Kong.

First of all this is Hollywood the good guy can't die... at least until the very end of the movie.
But for the rest of this, I thought there is still a debate out there weither or not a T-rex was a hunter or a scavanger. Then you have to consider was Kong's evolution better than the V-rex's?
Then there is your whole smaller/bigger argument, there are other things to consider, like sutible match ups (like in rock paper scissors). The leopard is probably more quick than the V-rex and there is the issue of the V-rex having those stubby lil' arms.
Well that is all for now. But I still like the sound in the first trailer more than the second trailer.
Yeah, this is Hollywood so animal combat is fantasized. However, I'm glad this fight is in the movie like it was in the original 1930's.

Well I can see that I am the only person in this forum that think s that the first trailer was better than the second. I thought I'd update you people and let you know about two new TV spots. I'd say there are definately trailer worthy, even though they are only 30 sec to 1 min in length.
Most of the extra length in the longer TV spot is the opening of the second trailer, but the rest of it, roughly half of it is exclusive footage (to all footage todate). So click on the images below to check out the TV spots.
And if anyone knows the title and artist of the song in the trailer please post it, because I would like to know (well that is kind of obvious, but anyways...).

P.S. If any one knows of any higher quality versons of this trailer please post it here, 'cause you would be doing a servious to us all! Thx! Hope you enjoyed these guys!

Would that be the local thearter near you, I am guessing? Just an FYI, kingkong.com has the TV spots linked above, plus one more at their webpage at much higher quality. I'd give a link, but I couldn't get a dirrect link to work so I desided that directing you to the official web page would be good enough.

Sorry for quoting you twice, but Forbes did a story on this exact topic so I thought I'd post some of the quotes from the article. Granted this is all speculation. If you don't want to read it all the score is:
Kong: 2
V-rex: 0
Tie: 1
King Kong is definitely bigger than T. rex, and since it has arms and nasty carnasial teeth, I'd have to say that the Kong would prevail. T. rex has bone-crushing teeth, but nothing to grab with other than its head, which of course isn't of much use if a 10-ton gorilla has a hold of you.
T. rex was warm-blooded, most likely a scavenger and not agile whatsoever. I'd vote for Kong!
After losing to the spinosaurus in Jurassic Park III and now to a gorilla, it would seem that T. rex has lost most of it's "rexness" but then this is the movies.
Who would win? King Kong.
Hands down, the 25-foot-tall gorilla wins. It's a much smarter and quicker animal. He would simply jump on T. rex's back and break its neck. It's not so weird a question; I have asked students to imagine how a velociraptor would fare on the Serengeti Plains.
Who would win? King Kong.
Bigger animals need more robust supportive tissues (bone, muscle, tendon, etc.) in order to support their weight. This is because strength is proportional to area. Kong might only be able to support his body weight...barely. In a jump, fast run, tackle, etc., he'd probably go to pieces.
I think either animal would belong only in a geriatric ward or wheelchair. Harsh language might be the best fight they could manage, especially supporting their weight on two legs.
But OK, considering the fantastical face-off, I'd put it as an even match: the T. Rex's jaws, leg claws and tail, versus Kong's brains, hands and fists.
We're not at all sure if a T. rex was warm-blooded or not. It seems that it was at least lukewarm-blooded. That only matters for endurance, though; in a short, frantic fight it would not matter.
Who would win? Tie.
