Do you think Texas or USC will go undefeated the rest of the year?
I think both will go undefeated and meet in the championship.
Will VirginaTech Supplant both Texas and USC for first in the BCS?
No way, IMO Tech will lose to Miami.
Will Northwestern rebound and compete in standings against Texas?
HEEEEEL NO.
Do the Oregon Ducks, LSU, Notre Dame, and Penn State have a say in this as well?
Each one of those teams have a loss, if USC and Texas run the table, these teams have no shot at all. I noticed you mentioned Oregan and ND, both were beaten by SC and yet, SC still fell in the BCS rankings. :S The BCS is a joke, it's time for a playoff!! :mad

If UCLA can stay undefeated for the rest of the year, then they have a huge shot at making the national championship game. Why? Because they will beat USC during their final game if they are undefeated by the end of the season.
Texas will most likely be undefeated. USC may be depending on their final game versus UCLA.
Yirginia Tech has a good chance of being undefeated.
Those 4 are the only teams that can really make the national championship game. :oh

Get the fuck out of here with that. It would take every team above UCLA to atleast lose one. If Texas and VT are undefeated and so is UCLA then it's going to be Texas vs. VT. Tech could lose at Miami but I don't see it happening. It's a Sat night game at Lane stadium. The last time Miami played at Tech at night they got beat. The seats will be sold out and there will be alot of noise. I was there last time and I got to say it's one of my best sport memories.(though Tech went to blow the rest of the season)

The BCS is a joke, it's time for a playoff!! :mad
I agree wholeheartedly but this has been thrown around for years since the BCS was instated in fact. They have tried petitions and coach polls but it never gets legitimate support. I want a playoff but I think realistically they have become narrow minded to only see where the money is. They make so much money of the bowl games and commercial sponsors, its hard for them to be willing to see it wouldn't take anything from that. They feel it would take money out of there greedy pockets and are not open to change because of that. They think a longer season will actually decrease their profits.
Have Bowl games as well but a playoff for the top 4 or top 8 and the top 2 of that championship play in the bowl assigned for the BCS championship that year. It would give even more games to sponsor and commercials so I have no idea where the thought of loss of money comes from but like I said there narrow-minded.

Nah if there gonna loose personally I think its gonna be sooner then later then that. UCLA might be their second loss but i doubt it :S
Texas's schedule strength isn't that strong at the end of the road so watch out for VT.

SC will "not" lose, everybody says they've got a suspect secondary, but they've played 4 teams ranked in the top 10 in passing........that's just freakin' crazy if you think about it!! Talk about a tough schedule and yet they still fell in the rankings? :amazed The BCS system just baffles me. :sad

1. I don't think USC is gonna lose at California. I do think they might lose to UCLA. I might change my mind on this later on, though. :P
2. I wouldn't be surprised if UCLA beating USC will push them up the BCS standings all the way to #1 or #2.
Beating an undefeated USC and staying undefeated themselves gives them a huge shot at making the national championship game.
Haven't you seen how Texas dethroned USC in the BCS standings when both teams were winning all their games by a few touchdowns every time?
Remember back in 2003 when it was #1 undefeated Oklahoma, #2 one loss USC, and #3 one loss LSU.
LSU beat Georgia in the SEC championship game, and that victory pushed them up in the BCS standings to #2, even when USC won their final game.
Oklahoma lost their Big 12 championship game, and they still retained their #1 position with a loss.
3. I have no doubt in my mind Georgia will lose yet again in the SEC championship game to some underdog team. They might even lose to Florida, Auburn, or both. :sad
4. Alabama's gonna lose sooner or later against LSU, Auburn, or both.
The BCS calculations are really hard to understand. :oh
The SEC is really strong this year. :oh

Who do you think will be ranked number one in the BCS system at the end of the year?
By the end of the year Texas will be rated #1 in the country
Do you think Texas or USC will go undefeated the rest of the year?
I think Texas will go undefeated in the season and i think USC will lose to UCLA on December 3rd.
Will VirginaTech Supplant both Texas and USC for first in the BCS?
I don't think it will happen, they will be defeated on November 5th against the Hurricanes.
Will Northwestern rebound and compete in standings against Texas?
Won't happen, they will lose today to Michigan
Do the Oregon Ducks, LSU, Notre Dame, and Penn State have a say in this as well?
The only team that has a chance from this list is LSU.

What a nice turn around OT win for UCLA, they were owned for 3 quarters. Drew is unstoppable as long as he stays healthy tho. There whole team depends on him.
And longhorns were in danger yet again early hope thats not a trend -_- They are going to loose percentage points to USC even if they win the game. I thought it was gonna be the reverse, with texas gaining more ground but I seriously doubt they will stay number 1 now with the USC blowout of WSU and Texas's sluggish if not detrimental play in the first half.
On another note Georgia could be done for the year with the loss of shockey he was their horse and NorthWestern is done as well with three losses. Auburn is looking great yet again but they have 2 losses. LSU and Alabama are comming up the standings for sure. VT's thursday win will also gain some percentage on texas with their 30-10 win over Boston.

UCLA, Texas, V Tech and Alabama don't stand a chance against SC. Every team in the country has 1 or 2 "great" players on offense, but SC has 4!! :amazed There's no doubt in my mind that they'll be the champs again.
My projected top 5 at the end of the season....
1. USC
2. Texas
3. Miami

Its only time my friend till they run into a trap they been getting closer and closer to loosing a game this year. You have become drunken on sucess and the end is near. Last year there was no chance at all, USC won all there games on average by 3 touchdowns more then everyone. I predict a loss at CAL or UCLA if USC gets through those then and only then are they number one two times running and own us all ;p Anyways it should be interesting.

Sounds to me like you're describing Texas. :oh They almost lost to OSU, the worst team in the big 12!! How can you say SC is getting closer to losing?? They've beaten every team they've faced this year by "double digits", except for ND, who's still ranked in the top ten.
SC will not be beaten, they're just too talented, it's time for the east coast bias to die! Texas is the one who's overrated, if you stop Young, they've got no other weapons. They remind me of V Tech when Mike Vick played there, they were a good team and made it to the National Championship, but one guy can only do so much, which is why they lost.
With SC, if you stop Lienart, Bush beats you, if you stop Bush, White beats you, if you stop White then Jarret beats you.......choose your poison. :smile-big
P.S. They are averaging 49 points per game this year and their opponent is averaging 20. That's "over" a four touchdown difference!! :amazed

They were down by 19 points, 9-28, at halftime, though.
They shut them out in the second half and scored 35 unanswered points starting from the third quarter.
In the end, Texas won by 19 points, 47-28.
Texas won by almost 3 touchdowns. :amazed
Texas also beat all their opponets by double digits, except for the Ohio State game when they were ranked in the top 5.
In other news, UCLA is now #5 in the BCS standings. :amuse

I been saying that texas isnt number one from the start thats a whole another discussion. They were horrible against OSU and should have lost that game. I wasnt talking about texas taking them over at all there schedule strength is too low in the end now. VT's however is heating up.
What I am saying is USC has not looked as dominant as it was last year, and untill they get through CAL and UCLA I cant myself yet declare them as champions in the rankings. Simple as that watch out its not in the bag as your making it out as!

That would be funny, if they all go undefeated that would be more of an excuse to get rid of the BCS system. I personally think SC will do better against Texas, so I'm kinda pulling for Miami to beat V Tech. :amuse

I would like that as well but i seriosuly doubt they will get rid off the BCS no matter what happens. I have already voiced the reasons why I feel this way, its all about the money and they dont want to change something that is making them so much money. They are a buisness and the Bowls nowadays make so much money of comericial advertising they could get rid of all adds for 10 years if they so wanted to, but why do that? In buissness you don't change something that makes up and above the quota every year, thats where these bonuses are comming from for coaches nowadays.
They are unwilling to think about a longer season and a playoff because they are afraid of change and think they will loose money and the stranglehold over the market they have had since the BCS system was instated.

This week, there are 2 games with 4 high-ranked SEC teams playing each other. One undefeated, two with a loss, and one with two losses.

AP #15 Auburn vs. BCS #9 Georgia.

A week ago, Im all happy cuz VT still undefeated and if we win out there is a chance we could go to Rose Bowl. Im attending Virginia Tech, people finally convinced me that we wouldn't lose, even though I always would think that there is a chance we could lose. Then I go to the Miami game feeling confident we would win, and now all my dreams have been destroyed. Its amazing how much one game can affect a season.

Yeah the BCS system may win this one... but it doesn't have any effect on the statment that a playoff system is more equal and is needed. The BCS system forces teams to have to score more and more points just for their win to make more difference. As long as they impress the coachs poll they can force their hand. Its ruining the game imo.

Well, my top five list looks like shit with the Miami loss and Penn St. tearing it up. Atleast SC won.
I seriously think SC is gonna murder UCLA, I say by about 24 points, atleast. UCLA has no type of defense, SC's gonna light em' up. I knew Fresno St. was gonna be a tough game, but SC is just so calm, they're just too consistent for any defense to stop.

I think Reggie Bush will be the Heisman Award winner this year, and if not, then he should be.
I think Penn State clinching a BCS spot is great for Joe Pa., and I also like what Charlie Weiss, Brady Quinn, and the rest of the Notre Dame guys are doing over there.

Anyone catch the SC/Fresno State game last week? That was so fun, haven't had so much fun at a game since I went up to southbend for Notre Dame.
And I agree 9tails, Reggie will probably(and for me hopefully) get the Heisman this year but I definately see a struggle next year between Brady Quinn and Vince Young. Quinn already proved his worth and talent against SC, and by next year he will be heisman material. But Vince Young is so hot right now.[/Zoolander'd] And Vince Young will also be even better next year.
Wootness, if Texas or USC (this I doubt) takes a fall and taking into account the Tigers do clinch the SEC West and win the confrence, we'll be heading to a national championship.

Penn State: Maybe... I don't remember anything great they did except win their conference. Losing to Michigan in the final minutes of regulation was a heartbreaker.
Notre Dame: Don't see the overrated here. USC had to have Matt Lineart play hero and have a no-call touchdown awarded to them for the win. Michigan State had to beat them in Overtime. While they had two loses they surely have made the improvement so much that even there QB was considered for the Heisman.
Anyone heard about the spread for the USC/UCLA game? 21 point favorites. Wow, now I'm really going to go for UCLA now. Yup, Florida St. has lost three games in a row and they still got a shot to make it into a BCS game. :amazed I already stated how stupid the BCS is, so I'm not gonna go there.
As for Penn St. and Notre Dame being overrated? I don't think either team is overrated, Penn St. won the Big Ten title and beat a tough Ohio St. team (who will probably be in a BCS game, also) and you already explained why Notre Dame isn't overrated, although, they did lose to a pretty crappy Michigan St. (5-6) team.
The real question is, do either Ohio St. or ND deserve to be in a BCS game? I say no, both those teams have two losses, yet Oregan only has one and that's to the #1 team in the country! Matter of fact, Oregan should've won that game. I guess the only thing that matters to the BCS is money, both ND and Ohio St. will bring in huge revenues, so that means Oregan is gonna get shafted.......again! :mad
Also, what do you guys think about the rumor that the Lions are going after Pete Carroll? Do you think he'll go back to the NFL? I personally don't think he's gonna leave, but you never know, everybody's got a price. :amuse

Yes neither ND or Ohio deserve to got to a bcs game imho, but you need to remeber Oregon Ducks had 4 games this season that it barely won or went to OT(fresno state, CAL, WSU, Arizona). Thats why they been dogged in the polls this season. Sad But True. Not saying this is right at all but it does explain some of the negative views towards the Ducks. They should still go to a BCS game over ND and Ohio.
On Pete Carroll I think its a bunch of hogwash, the Lions are screwed with the salary cap atm they have no money to give a bonus to entice him to come back to the NFL. Its just rumour my friend. And yes everyone sadly does have a price -_-

Pete won't leave SC. He already failed in the pros once. I think that he will spend the rest of his career at SC.
And ND DOES NOT! deserve to go to a BCS bowl. They simply are going because they are ND and nothing else. Oregon deserves it. They have been screwed enough times by the BCS. Remember back a few years ago when Miami played Nebraska for the national championship? Ya, Oregon should have played Miami. Neb. had no chance of winning going into it and it was just proven when they were killed 35 to 7. ND I hope loses in their bowl just to prove Oregon should have gone. I was really hoping for Stanford to beat them so it would give them no chance of going, but that was not so. Pretty sad that a team who almost beat SC and is going to play in a BSC bowl can barely pull out a victory against Stanford in the last quarter.
BCS politics and east coast bias are what ruin college football. The Pac-10 as a whole has been screwed over so many times by them its rediculous.
Like I said before, when Oregon was taken out of the national championship, then when SC was BCS'd out of the championship in 2003 and Texas got to go to the BCS bowl instead of Cal who rightfully should have. And now this shit, ND gets to go instead of Oregon.
so in summary,
FUCK the BCS
FUCK the East Coast
and FUCK statistics because they obviously don't matter when determining who the better team is.

Florida State defeated VT with a 27-22 victory. With a crappy 8-4 record, they get to go to the BCS Orange Bowl against most likely Penn State.
Meh, beating a top 5 team like that, Florida State does indeed deserve to go to a bowl, but not one of the top 4 BCS bowls in the country.
With LSU and VT losing today, I believe Ohio State and Oregon both deserve to take the final two spots in the 8 team BCS top 4 bowl games.
Miami (FL), Auburn, and West Virginia are meh, maybe.

Hey Redemption, looks like our two teams are going head to head in the Vegas bowl. BYU vs. Cal, watch out for my brother-in-law #99 Manaia Brown, he starts at nose tackle. I'll definately be at the game. :amuse
Before you start thinking I'm an SC bandwagon jumper, my cousin Fred Matua starts on the O-line, so that's why I followed them so closely. :wink

All the bowls have been decided.
Oregon, a 10-1 team, is stuck playing in the Holiday Bowl against Oklahoma.
West Virginia, a 10-1 team, gets to play the 10-2 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
Notre Dame and Ohio State, both with 2 losses, play in the Fiesta Bowl.
We all know what the Rose Bowl matchup will be.
Oregon really should have taken Florida State's spot against Penn State in the Orange Bowl.
I pretty much agree with the other three bowls.

Matua? no shit? pretty cool. I fucking hate bandwagoners. Those fags that leave at half cuz we are destroying a team. It wasn't always this fucking good and it won't stay this fucking good forever so you got to enjoy this shit now.
Did you go to the SC UCLA game? So much fun talking shit to all those pussy UCLA fans. They are all fair weather cocksuckers. Maurice Drew my ass. That guy couldn't even score a touchdown till we had the 3rd string defense in. And those fucks on the east coast are always talking about how fucking bad SC's defense is. and then Mercedes too, he didn't do shit aswell. UCLA just further proved they are overrated pieces of shit.
Matt played like shit in that game, he was throwing high the whole time. It's really sad since that was his last home game. And all the spot light was taken from him by Reggie. Reggie GOT the heisman last night no questions asked. If Vince Young hadn't shit his pants against Texas A&M maybe it could have gone either way. But Reggie HAS it now.

Funny how the entire pre-show was totally focused on Reggie.
I hope Vince Young never wins heisman. Hes nothing but a gang member and a criminal. Quote Vince "They kinda put me in handcuffs" God what an idiot. Then Mack Brown goes on trying to say Vince Young is an inspiration to him. Save it asshole. Vince Young is a low life criminal. Some like him doesn't deserve to grace the name of the heisman trophy.

And yeah it was a landslide. He definetly deserved it tho.

Man what a game. Wonder who'll win?
Texas has showed themselves to be a really solid team. And that QB is really something. But USC definately has momentum now.

That's true, Bush tried to do too much on that play. Well atleast it was a damn good game and one that'll go down in the history books. Congrats to Texas, I tip my hat to them, they played a great game.

I agree illusion, it was an amazing game but for us SC fans the end was bittersweet. Yes Carrol made a terrible call going on 4th and 2 but ultimately it was our secondary that lost the game for us. In the entire game we probably only had a reciever covered maybe 5-6 times, I'll have to rewatch it on Tivo to be exact(I was on the 10 yard line so it was hard to see every play). I do believe we have more talent on offense, but definately not on defense. Texas's defense was so fast our secondary couldn't keep up with them and Vince Young was so fast and strong our defense couldn't sack him even once. Now I'm not saying this out of spite, but it is very clear that that team revolves around Vince Young. Without Young Texas is nothing. So if he were to be hurt or injured, it would be overe for the Longhorns. We ended up screwing ourselves in the first half trying to be fancy when all we needed to do was give it to Lendale and we would have had it 21-3. But it went down like it did and that was then end of our 34 game winning streak. I must also say that the Texas fans and team were good and gracious winners. And I believe we were also good losers. Nothing worse than a sore loser. Well I'm ready for next season now. At least we will have Hershel Dennis and Desmond Reed but the loss of White and Bush is really going to be devastating for us fans.
