yea i guess we are trying to live bcoz it would be boring if u waited for ur death to come..yea and life can be fun too.. maybe 2pac's song point is why are we suffering too much then we'll die in the end its like there is no point of sacrificing everything in order to live when u die...well i dont know..hehe

I think tupacs point was different. his point was that just beeing here is the most important thing in life. so as to not make a fuss about everything else that happens in life and just do the right thing so you can live further. if you live for money and fame it means you can live without it and i find that wrong.
If we die we are gone. unless ofcourse you go to another plain but in some religions you will go to hell if you kill yourself. The only reason to stop living which i believe is the only thing that makes you you, would be that life sucks. but that is all in your head!

Hell I don't know why we do. I know why -I- do, but my reason may not be the next guy's reason, and in many cases it couldn't be.
That aside, since living is the default state of a human being, is there any particularly good reason to not live that I'm unaware of? It's a wonderful default setting.
Why are we asking questions, if there is no good answer?

A simple answer could be because it's better than doing nothing. Just lying around, doing nothing all day, just waiting for your death wouldn't be very exciting, would it?

Well, in an evolutionary sense,we must live to produce. but i guess were all just awaiting something. thats where our fight or flight sense comes from. maybe its just some sort of a mishap in a gene where the depressed people cant find that reason., sometimes its just to accomplish some goal you have..

Because you can. If you don't take your oppotunity to live, then what do you have? Nothing, you have nothing and you are nothing.
Its true we are all eventually going to die, but that doesn't mean that you should just sit back and wait for death.
Tell me, what do you accomplish by NOT trying to live? You'll just get to the end of your life and realize "wow, I wasted my opportunity to do anything".
Personally I want nothing more than to be a father some day, my own little legacy to pass on into the future, a form of immortality if you will (also I love little kids).

personally, I think that prospect of death keeps us living. we know we will die one day, so, the best thing we can do is live out our lives as best we can, and you never know, if you can become a legend then you can never truly die.

generally the whole purpose of life is its Continuation. The only thought process/instinct of the simplest organism is to continue being.
for ppl it is to achieve certain goals in a given amount of time.

Take your pick of an answer. There isn't just one answer to this question there are in fact many due to people having different beliefs and understandings. Some reasons can stem from religion and people may think that they must live on in order to praise the creator that gave them life. They may build civilizations based solely around this creator and may feel that by dying they are disrespecting the work of their creator, and thus sinning.
Other reasons may be just through ego that may stem from religion or other sources. They may live just to be the best (whether this is a good or bad thing depends on how they try to be the best, and at what). It may also be instinct. Species just have an instinctive drive to live on and procreate. Think about it, what real material gain do we get from raising children in this modern day? All it does is drain the parents financially, but it is due to our want to procreate that makes us do this. A long time ago we did have more benefits for this due to the extended house system, but nowadays it's usually due to the belief and yearning to live on through your investement in your children. It's simply a mechanical, or better yet just an instincitve thing that is in all of us, which is why we generally like sex. When you think about the act without hormones involved, it seems stupid, but these hormones are implemented to help drive our instincts to live on.
Well those are only a few reasons, but I didn't want to write some dissertation this time.
Dont think of it as living and dieing, Life take form in a global sense, everything we do as a group of people is a collection of actions, it allows the circle to exist. Our energies constantly walk.

if you think of it from the perspective of our universe, we are an appearance in time and in a place which will dissappear from its time, place and/or existance. just like everything else. I believe that would be the most realistic answer.

Haha I thought about this kind of question as well, especially when I was depressed. All I can say is we were born for a reason and that's to experience what life is all about and what it has to offer. Just live your life to the fullest and live as if tomorrow will be your last day.

Life and death are both the diffrent sides of a coin. Death is a word that has a meaning. What is death, death is just another path we all have to walk, one that we can't see but know that it is there in front of us. Waiting for us to step on it and continue the path that we can never see the end of. Some say the path's name is fate other say destiny and that it can't be change, I say we make our own fate and the end is something we make for oneself.

I enjoy living for the most part. I don't think I will enjoy being dead. I want to do things that I enjoy. That's why I try to live, even though in the end I'm going to die.

It doesn't matter why, we just live. Such an answer can't be answered simply by pondering on it, so live your life without worrying about it and maybe you'll find your answer. Me, I gave up my search for such answers long ago.

It is human nature to try and survive, whatever the situation and odds of survival. I, myself wouldn't let myself die for any reason, or anyone else either for that matter, as long as I live. Why? Because I'm trusting my instincts..

life is about the journey not the destination....I heard that somewhere, but i agree with it...I say have fun, be silly and try not to have regrets...live life to the fullest and all that blah blah...
The way we are raised, or how pepole are raised in any culture is just not nillistic, no socioty belives in the end of human life, we are all instilled form birth with meaning, and with even the smallest meaning, even if it is just for sake of rutine, we can't kill ourselves........

honestly i think that the reason we try to live is because we know death is inevitable and we have to accept it at some time we all find our own ways to live life to its fullest may it be religion drugs or sports. no matter what we do though there will always be people who will quest for that death early. and thus we have people who commit suicide. we also have people who will quest for more than they have so we have robbery and people who will live to kill others and thus we have murderers but that is just my opinion on the subject
