Do you believe in ghosts?

I was watching the '13 Nights of Halloween' special of The World's Most Scariest Places earlier on abc Family. I was then inspired to create this as I want to believe in ghosts but can't make up my mind. I really think the show seems like BS though, as they never show anything besides the people's faces screaming. What are your thoughts?

well, I think that you can either move on or not, I have faith that there is a life after death, and those who don't become ghosts. I have seen way to much proof of both ghosts and demons to believe otherwise. I even have a ghost living in my house, it woke me up one night by touching my leg and it was extremely cold. After I opened my eyes, he stared (it wqas very scary I might add) into my eyes with his cold dead stare and then he floated through the cieling.

If you want proof of ghosts, they do show up on electronic frequencies. In other words, if you do not have the ability to see them (everyone does but it has to be trained) then you can take a camera into a place that is supposedly haunted and take pictures... a ton of pictures. But here is my warning to you, don't go in too deep, ghost hunters have a tendency of dying in weird accidents...oh well, don't say you weren't warned.

Real-life ghost experiences are scary. Usually you only have them if a sort of "sixth sense" runs in the family. I just thought I'd add that lil tid bit of info.

I have prove that they are but no prove that I can show you of course, cause how. But if you still don’t believe then let me tell you. I used to live with my grandmother went I was little in her farm right. My brother have seen them and so have my mother well to put it simple. Most of the people in my family have seen them. We use to live with my grandmother right me and my two other brother went we were little. It was a in a small little kind of village. There use to happen all kind of stuff there. No, joke. I personally have never seen then, but only because I’m to scare to do so. But if you have the guts to do so. all you have to do is ask to meet one, but no in a joking kind of way. I mean for real ask to meet one. For example. My stepfather he said his mother came to say good-bye went she die. I personally believe him cause my mom said the samething happened to her went my grandfather die right… we lived far away from him we just knew he was sick and went he die we dint see him right away so he came to say good-bye to her.

Look I could tell you so many weird thing and unreal thing but I’m sure most of you wouldn’t believe. I would spend to much time writing for nothing. But believe me, they exist trust me… for somebody who said ‘is not possible, cause if they did exist the world be full with them” It doesn’t work like that. Ghost are spirits left behind because they have unfinished business in this world. For example, they say that if you leave money buried because your too greedy and nobody finds it and you die. You will stay in this world until somebody finds it. You will have to tell somebody to find it for you (while you’re a ghost) they say (well my mom cause she seen it and so has my grandmother) is a light like a candle and it will come to you then it will go just ahead and if you follow it, it will take you to where it left the money. Advice if this happen to you don’t follow it unless you have major guts. Cause if you do, you have to dig and somebody is going to call you (people say is the devil) if you look back they say you go crazy.

Trust me guys ghost are real. There are two dogs that protects people they are call “el cadejo” in Spanish. There are two of thm and they are good. They look like normal dogs one is White the one that protect mans and the other is Black. The one that protect Woman’s. if you see then you probably wont recognise them unless you seen them before. If you see them either of them (although if you’re a man you will see the white and vice verse, but is possible for a man to see the black one as well is just most likely the other way ) If you see them it mean you in danger something is going to happen to you or might happen to you. They will protect you (it protected my brother and other people in my family) if you see them don’t do anything strange just keep going or do what you are doing. Don’t anger them, just continue what you doing. They will protect you. They will not hurt you. Went angry they are dangerous… (They can become really big or really small. Depends on their mood) also they can whistle really high. If you heard a whistle it might be them. Some people can heard it others cant (don’t know why. Is a possibility that if they cant heard it, it may be cause they are afraid not sure though. But if they don’t and they are with you and cant heard it. is probably because of that ) also if you heard the whistle near you it mean that his really far away and if is close, It could be right beside you. They wont hurt you though and if you heard the whistle it doesn’t mean his here for you. His probably just in the area.

Trust me I have way more stories about ghost and stuff like that. If you want to know or heard more, let me know. I do....I've never been quite sure if I've had an experiance myself...cause I dont have enough spiritual energy to tell the difference, nor have I had any physical confrontations. But yes, I very much believe in ghosts....

The reason why "believers" only see them is because they WANT to see them. People usually see one of their dead relatives because they miss them. What they do is create a psycomanic episode and basically see the ones that they what to see.

I'm pretty confident that I've had an experience with a ghost as well...You can feel the presence of another person in the room with you, and you get extremely cold. I've had this feeling several times in my house both when I was alone, and when I wasn't. As a side note my house has a tendency to be really hot all year round. It's a really small house with low ceilings and pretty good insulation, yet when you get this feeling there are certain spots that get frigid, and these spots arent always in the same location. My house is well over 100 years old, and is sort of located in the woods in what was otherwise a farming community. Freaky stuff. There's no other way of describing it other than that typical hair standing up on the back of your neck. The key here is that it happens randomly. It's not like you're sitting there alone in a quiet room and your mind has a chance to wander. On the contrary I've been in mid sentence with someone about something not in the least bit scary, and gotten the crazy and creepy feeling that there was someone standing in the room with us. I've even on rare occasion heard my wooden floor creeking down my hall when I'm absolutely positive there isn't anyone standing there.

One was a snake and the other was a tiger. They used to live in a big stone, that was kind of in the middle of the river. The stone is really big. Bigger than a house like the side of 3 big house combine. It get better. Went they use to fight (cause they did) the entire river used to get so dirty right, because they use to make the water mug like. The river is about 100 meters deep and about 200 meters wide. Anyhow the people were scare of the animal right so one day. (No joke… believe if you want) one day a everybody gather. we brought a priest with us and we all pray to god right. Hours later a thunder hit the rock splitting it into 4 pieces. Both the animals were kill. No joke.

That river, they say that the devil use to come there cause people got lose there (Still do). Trust me like I said, I have so many stories like that and better. And most of them are from personal experience. In that river at the top of a mountain beside the river. There is something I will go and get went I get older. Collector would love to have it! That story seems INCREDIBLY farfetched and downright fictitious. Either your story is filled with hyperboles or that whole story is not real. I'm sorry, but there are NO such things as 20 meter tigers that live in rocks. That story is, in my opinion, a lie. Maybe your grandmothers have told you these stories and you people have been taught to believe in them. Let me just say one thing: The mind is a powerful thing, and when you want to see something badly enough, you will. Think on that for a while before coming up with a rebuttle.

I'm glad you guys are interested in this. I have another question to present...ghost hunters and other people on TV and such always use thermal goggles and things to find ghosts. This means they track and see the heat of the ghost. If these goggles can see the heat of the ghosts, how is it that everyone explains a ghost as very cold?

Because the term "cold" isnt really a feeling of temperature. It it is really a lack of heat. I dont know if any of you have touched a dead body (I know I havent) but I've heard they're very cold and stiff. So, think about that lack of heat, it would be colder then room temperature; colder then certain spots on walls and things. They need to determine the shape, stature, and size of the cold spots... and the best way to do that is to use a heat seeking device, which can visually show where temperature levels are located.

Oh....and hell hounds are a really creepy thing. They are a humanoid "thing." The reason I say this is because you can't call them humans...but you cant call them beasts either. They have almost all the same features of a human, except the legs and arms are abnormally long with extreme amounts of hair over the body. Their eyes are a deep, bright red, and they sound like wolfs/wild dogs barking. If a gateway is open, there are somenights you can hear them barking, always around midnight. Which is why I think that's when the gate opens. It's intriguing yet at the same time....strange, freakish.

I always thought of ghosts less as the human spirit and more as just the final manifestation of the human mind no longer trapped within it's physical prison. It's said that we only can use 10% of our human minds, so who's to say what the other 90% can and cannot do. Look if you had seen what I seen. I guaranteed that you would believe all my “farfetched” stories as you called them. Let me ask you this, have people found out everything that it is to know about this world or at least most of the stuff? No, they haven’t, I seen stuff that people may not know nor believe. but only because nobody has proven it yet. Tell me this have you ever seen a snake that has wings? I have, I even killed it.

Anyhow I like this thread. So many people are making so many theories and hypothesis about their own thoughts and ideas. I like that. Yet, is still not in the debate stage yet. But only because nobody has said anything that makes everyone think.

Also, I have to say this. I think you guys just help me realise what I want to do. to make money. I always liked this sort of things and I still do. I like reading interesting stuff like this( even if they may or are not truth). I like writing but I’m always lazy and don’t care how it is. ( meaning I don’t check my spelling, grammar, etc…) but I still like writing and I’m ok I guess if I try. I want to be a Philosopher. I don’t know but I like doing and reading stuff this. By working like philosopher I can comprehend more stuff and I like doing so. Now, I have to go read about the hellhounds things. They sound creepy like you said ( but I like that). Many people have told me that I have some great insides on thing. That I should become something like a philosopher. But, I never really pay that much attemption to it.

At these times there is NO response from the dog, just like a normal day at the house. One of the three people have seen these things VIVIDLY once...and has seen shadows and glimpses of their eyes. Being in this person's possition, what would you conclude from it. (Note: the one who saw these has a high spiritual presence, one of the others, is the sister, and the third is a friend who has a mild, yet above average spiritual presence)

Read this if it happen only a few times…
It could be “El cadejo” like a mention on a past post. However, if it is “el cadejo” it shouldn’t happens a lot. Like twice, max five times a month and not every month. And that would happen because like you call it, someone in the household has “high spiritual” meaning that he can heard it, even if is not here for him. The reason why I would say they’re hearing it. Is because of the area he may (el cadejo) like the area. So he would come there to rest. If it’s a bad area he may come here to help and that’s why they heard it. And about the “vividly” part. If it is “el cadejo” cause he does look vividly went his transforming (becoming big or small). If the person who saw it, saw it vividly it could be because. The person who saw it, couldn’t handle watching him. But if he did nothing and it was vividly it could be that he was bad and “el cadejo” dint like him. Also hearing “el cadejo” feels the same way as went you think there is a ghost near you. To put it simple your hair goes up. The feeling is not the same as hearing a normal person whistle. The whistle is Lough and deep. Once you heard it a few time you know right away if it is him or not. But remember this, you have to believe and have guts for “el cadejo” to appear to you. That would also get rip of “el cadejo” because he would think you don’t have guts if you do this. So he will leave you alone. 2: (if you have guts only) walk out went is happening and ask out Lough why his doing this and tell him to stop, say you don’t want him to keep doing this. “Warning” if you do this he “el cadejo” may reveal himself to you and same thing goes for a bad spirit. Because by doing this you are challenging them. They love playing with people who think they are strong. However, if you are afraid “add” went you come out “I’m afraid of you please stop.” They wont reveal to you if you say this. However if it’s a bad spirit it may… if is a bad spirit all I can say is don’t back down but don’t insult him either. Especially don’t give your back to him. Try to talk to it, if you have guts. I recommend you pray to god though…

Personally I think is “el cadejo” eventually he would go away he can sense if you are afraid. He will leave you alone if you just leave him alone. Unless somebody is interested in seen or knowing more. He would probably stay because of that. But don’t worry he wont do anything to you if you do nothing to him.

Personally I believe that if you just say out Lough you afraid and don’t want to see a ghost or anything like that, you wont. I don’t know it has work for me so far. I know I should have seen one already. But I have stop myself. My brother, friend etc, standing beside me have seen them but I haven’t.

I've never seen anything that looked like a ghost, but my Dad saw something very strange once when he was staying at a hotel in Egypt. His mirror was foggy, and the fog formed the shape of a human skull. I'd say this could just be a coincidence, as we've all seen clouds and things that look like an object of some kind. However, what's even stranger was that the hotel had my Dad's name as Henry, when that was actually his Father's name who died a few years earlier. Could this have been my Grandfather somehow communicating to him in death? I really don't know, but it's always made me believe in ghosts a little.

Well, the only problem with that is there are more then one...it's like a pack of them or something. And I've heard the sister hear them almost every night. The brother has moved out....so its not because of him that they're staying.

I dont believe in ghosts but i believe in spirits known as the 'Djin'. Basically the Djin are spirit like creatures who have also been given free will. I believe thats where the geenie legend came from (notice how the geenie can also be spelt like the Djini and that the djini seems to be trapped against its free will, unless its been freed, irony in its simplest form). Also notice how every geenie (bar the one in aladdin) seems to have a evil aura about him, they always try to stop it at the last wish

The Djin as i mentioned before have free will so they can choose what they do. As well as that they live on the same planet, they breath the same air and of course share the same temptations.

Some of them tend to delve in the bad side of the spectrum, they have given into their temptation. These are often ones that abuse humans, possess them, grant them powers or haunt them (the Ouiji board).Basically i think these are the ghosts we see, they make us think that we see ghosts. Also, ghosts never seem to do anything other then haunt, scare or follow people. Again the free will statement, they have free will and supernatural abilites, they can fly, they're stronger and smarter. Due to them having free will they can be attached to things which would lead them to haunt people, houses etc etc. Some of them even love humans so they disguise themselves as humans and start a relationship with the person (a bit farfetched but i've heard of it before, Anna Nicole Smith supposedly had sexual intercourse with one every night).

In islamic legends the evil ones are controlled by the devil, they do is bidding and help him preach to people to go against god.
However theres one night every year a day comes in which these djin are locked up, along with the devil (whoose palace is under the sea, conviniently a place where we dont explore) its called the night/day of power and is supposedly the day the Quran came down from the heavens.

Now to finish my mini essay. The other side of the spectrum, the good ones. They stay out of human lives and live they're own lives, and they strive to achive the same thing as us.. Heaven

I know I'm jumping into this discussion a little late in the game, but it caught my eye. I don't know if I believe in ghosts in the traditional sense, but I've had a few expereinces that make me believe that there is more going on in this world than there appears to be at first glance.

I couple years ago, I worked the graveyard shift as a custodian in a large complex, and I *know* I was not alone in that place most of the time. (More about that when I'm not so bleary-eyed.) There is also a hostile presence in our garage in the wee hours. No animal that has ever lived in this house will go near that door late at night.

I always thought of ghosts less as the human spirit and more as just the final manifestation of the human mind no longer trapped within it's physical prison. It's said that we only can use 10% of our human minds, so who's to say what the other 90% can and cannot do. And since not everyone has a ghost when they die, maybe only someminds are fit to do so due to life expeiriences or something. Just a theory ^_^;;

I believe that a large majority of what people think are ghosts are explainable phenomena, but that they simply aren't looking hard enough for what causes it. I do believe in some ghosts, but mainly as echoes of former living beings that fade away over time. I believe that there might be a very, very small amount of true spirits, actual beings without form but that still have self-awareness, even if that seems impossible to me. I don't believe in souls, God, the Devil, John Edwards, or spirits such as Djinn, angels, and demons.

I'm scared of ghosts. There was a ghost following me when I was 15. Often I would wake up in the morning and see a ghost sitting on the edge of my bed and looking at me. It would never talk to me, it just watched me T_T I told some of my friends about it and they never believed me, I didnt blame them thou, I wouldn't believe such a story either... I was afraid to tell my parents because I thought they would punish me for lieing. It was annoying and scarry, such a thing appearing randomly(usually in the morning) and following and watching you(for some time) and then disappearing just as randomly.
