Talk about the events you do, the training you endure, and your goals for this year here.
Track season where I live just started, and I'm interested in what people here can do.
I run a 5:30 mile, 2:20 half mile, and minute quarter mile. I want to get my times down to an even whole number of minutes. I bench two hundred and ten pounds though, so don't picture me as weak/annorexic.

I am one. And I think we should discuss the sport. Running events, field events. They're all so fascinating. 8D
I do shot put, discus, and javelin. And I'm training for triple jump next year. :3

So i dont if any of you guys have been watching this, but its turning out to be pretty amazing. Just in the mens 100m dash 2 records were broken with Tyson Gay breaking the american record running a 9.77 secs and Jeff Demps breaking the high school record by goin 10.01... Oh, and this was only the quarterfinal too. I cant wait for the olympics....

My jaws are still on the floor...
I bet he's not that fast in the bedroom.
When I first saw the title, I thought it was in frustration because Bolt makes us all look like chumps. He's probably holding back because he gets some more money every time he breaks the record.

He's apparently suspected of having taken illegal substances, especially after a few fellow Jamaican sprinters have been tested positively. And taking into account the rather loose doping controls in Jamaica not everyone is convinced of Bolt being entirely legit.

@Segan, re: doping. I really don't see how he can be given the amount of scrutiny he has had to be under for the last year or so. There must be a hell of a lot of testing that he's had to go through given all he's achieved.

Eh no the second result came back negative, they went home because they didn't feel comfortable racing because people might think they are taking drugs when it was proven they weren't.

Indoor event in February looks interesting, can't see the list yet, so don't know if womens high jump is included, maybe it's too early.
On Friday will be the next Golden League Meeting, in Zürich http://www.weltklassezuerich.ch/en/index.html Friedrich and Vlasic will attend, so it's gonna be an exciting duel again..:iria I hope Eurosport is gonna broadcast it..:ruri

Having landed the 100, 200 and 4 x 100 metres world titles, Bolt is already pondering the future and yesterday he moved the goalposts. “I tell my coach that I’d love to try the long jump before I retire because I think I’d be very good at it,” he said.

Well i'll be waiting anxiously to see that then...
He certainly has the speed to get some huge momentum but will he be able to get synchronized with the calling tab and then have enought strenght on his legs and body to at that speed make an impulsion?! Lets wait and see...
As for the football i stick with my opinion...not a promising future for him at it.

08-27-2009, 04:23 PM
Sounds like Bolt wants to be like "Carl Lewis". He has a lot of talent, could be a good long jumper. The 400 meter race seems more likely and lessens the injury factor plus you never know when the events are going to be scheduled. Lewis used to limit his long jump attempts so he could have enough prep/recovery time to run the 100 and 200 races.

I'm not really sure if IAAF can be at fault, somebody obviously leaked the information, and obviously once that happens the whole worlds press gets involved. But yes, badly.
