View Full Version : Will luffy be hung(like gold roger) at the end of the seires?

ive been wondering this for a while. it seems to me like it would be an amazing way to wrap up the seires, but it would make me sad. does anyone else think this is a possibility?

it is a possibility that would be one way to wrap up the series. more likely than the rest i think. everyone knows the luffy will find one piece, but after that, idk.
for the anime watchers luffy didnt find the one piece yet i'm just saying he probably will.

i still want to know the full explanation of "The Man of D" thing. i kinda get it but there are still a few things that are left unsolved.

Yeah, he is probably gonna be executed at the end. It fits his fate of being a pirate. I'm just wondering who will be the one to finally topple him.

He's attacked countless "good guys"... such as marines... caused lots of property damage... and they do get their money by stealing, wheter it's from pirates or not. Not to say that he's evil, but he has done his fair share of crimes...
But I do think that Luffy might end up sharing the same fate as Gol D. Roger.

Of course Luffy won't be killed at the end. He'll probably sail off into the sunset and live happily ever after. I mean, if friggin' Pell survived, there's no way that the hero would die at the end.

Getting back on topic, it would probably ruin the whole series for me if Luffy is hanged or outright killed period...after accomplishing his life long dream??? That'd burn
I actually thought the same thing about Coby being the one to defeat Luffy. Just think of the irony and drama. Luffy was the person who pushed Coby into fulfilling his dreams of becoming a marine and it's that same man who captures him at the end. Zoro will probably end up defeating Mihawk and him and Nami will continue travelling to finish the world map. Usopp will continue his voyage to become a great warrior of the sea and might even reassemble the Usopp crew with those 3 kids but them being older ofcourse. Robin will probably dissapear in the shadows or something and Chopper will settle down somewhere and become a world famous doctor. I always imagined Sanji having a really dramatic death. Like him drowning in the all blue with a smile.

Luffy wouldnt die from being hung, his head would stretch to the ground. Anyway its a kid's show, and luffy is simple and good natured. Why the hell would they kill him off. Dont think logically and think about what the creator would know is right.

Nah... Sanji's gonna have his own fightin' cooks restaurant... just like in KuroKame's fanfic "The Seventh Guest"

I think, when they decide to end One Piece, that Luffy will die. One Piece has this amazingly unique characteristic unlike other animes, in that, it will make you cry, not because you are sad, but because you're happy. Not saying that Luffy dying would be a happy ending, but I can just imagine Luffy, in the last moment of his life, smiling and shouting something about nakama, before his life is ended.
Then, somewhere in the crowd, there will be a boy watching, astonished by Luffy's braveness, who will dream to follow Monkey D. Luffy's footsteps.

You think the anime will actually come to closure like that? I'd say it end in a open ended way - like Kenshin be4 OVA2. I imagine Luffy achieving the name Pirate King, then the crew/everyone sort of disappears.

well Gold Roger was just saying there was a treasure in attempt to escape (he thought everyone would want the treasure so bad tat they would just leave and forget about him to go get it(he failed)).
So when luffy and the gang get to where the treasure should be there was just a another straw hat in it. then the screen pulls back and its the devil and Gold Roger watching TV and the TV show was ONE PIECE get it???

Nah, I highly doubt they'd kill him off, it just doesn't seem like something the author would do. It'd be funny to watch them try to hang him, though, his neck would just stretch down. And if they tried to chop his head off, I bet he'd just escape, and even if they used the sea rock I bet his crew would be able to get him out. Well, that's my opinion.

You make it sound like beheading is worse than the gallows. It is really the other way around. Both can be messy, but you could live for a LONG time if your neck doesn't snap in the gallows.

Really, my theory on why Gold Roger said One Piece was at the end of the Grand Line:
- He wanted to start either chaos in the world or dreams in people's heads.
- He decided to pass on his legacy.
- One Piece is only one piece of treasure, which may have inspired Gold Roger to become a pirate.
