i'd say kakashi has a better chance of winning against gaara,, but gaara has the ultimate defense, so basically it can go either way, since gaara's sand is impossible to get by unless ur super crazy fast u won't be able to beat him, post or pre time skip. and also there's the factor of copying over 1000 jutsu's and the ol shukkaku.

Well, Gaara could most likely just surround himself in a giant ball of sand if pushed into the volcano, and survive for a bit. Although, if Kakashi caught Gaara off guard (his extreme agility and speed), Kakashi could use Raikari and then kick Gaara into the volcano.

the volcano has alot of ash around and usable earth, also it is not a very stable base, Ie the terrain isn't favorable to kakashi for dodging purposes- Gaara wins.

Kakashi can;t be gaara period.

Also in reality kakashi would diedue to heat exposure, from the volcano, seeing as he has no protection!

Gaara would die from overheating. Its hot enough being encased in sand, but to be over a volcano? Its like putting him in an oven. Plus, he'd be at a disadvantage, if he crushed the rock under them into sand, he could potentially punch a hole to the magma creating an eruption killing himself. The Sand might block the lava, but then it'd melt and he wouldn't be able to move it, and it'd eventually cook him.

He's protected from physical damage, notthing escapes the laws of thermodynamics though.

to fight gaara, you'd need an insane amount of space to even stand a chance against him. you can't really dodge his sand by standing on the edge of a volcano...so this should go to gaara

i think that gaara and kakashi would fight to a tie. gaara would run out of chakra using all his sand and kakashi would use all his chakra using the sharingan. unless one made a mistake and fell into the volcano?

Obviously kakashi. You saw that episode when gaara was about to kill rock lee, and then gai sensei came up and took the blow with 1 hand easy. You think kakashi who copied over 1000 moves...would loose to a genin? And then, im sure kakashi mastered some fire technique, seying as he does have sharingan.

First person to view this. Ya the intense heat from the volcano's magma would probably turn the sand to glass. We have already seen that the natural elements have weaknesses.
Nidaime blocking Sarutobi's katon with a suiton causing steam thats 1 of the examples that I can remember off the top of my head but ya. Gaara could use this to his advantage in hurting Kakashi but then it'd make the battle field smaller.
Also if he's hit into the lava its game over, his sand armor won't help. His shield of sand won't help. His little protective ball of sand that he used against Deidara to fly around would be his only chance unless it gets hit by a 1000+ degree of lava spewage
