To the people of you who have finished the sixth Harry Potter book, remember when Harry and Dumbledore got to the fake Hocrux? The one who wrote that letters intials was R.A.B . And, in an interview JK Rowling said that it's a relative of Sirius then the last B fits. So i was wondering, who in the Black family has an R in the beginning? Sirius Brother Relegus! So do you people think it is him?

I ran through my mental list of every name in Harry Potter the moment I saw that, and figured it for Regulus in about 15 seconds, and it's the general concensus that that's who it was.

Not just that, JK Rownling said it was a relative of Sirius.

hehe well I already knew that Aman think you got that news from me xD

anyway I do think that is true also because I found really interresting interviews from J.K.Rowling wich makes my doubs no doubs anymore the interviews I found were all based on the sixt and seventh book of Harry so all the questions towards J.K.Rowling were very interresting to read it.

and it will defenitly be sirius Black his brother probably or some other relative to him.
although I do not know wetter he is such a guy as the rest of the black family or if he is like sirius black trying to be on the good side.

He could always be a neutral character....kinda in how I take Snape to be. I feel he leans more for the good side, but is still extremely neutral.

You're probably sitting there thinking "OMG! But what about what he did to Dumbledore and Hogwarts?! You retarded n00b! I can't believe you just said that!" right?

Anyways, look....what happened on those few pages was inevitable for him....in a sense....there's worse things he could have done.....much worse....and he chose not to. In the situation that he was put in, he did what he had to do to keep himself hidden from the Death Eaters, but at the same time, help Hogwarts....and the only option is exactly what happened in the book.

It was said in the book that he joined the Death Eaters, but after a while he got so deep into it, that he wanted out. And ofcourse, with Voldemort, it's either a life time of service, or death.

I figured that out on my first try, but then, no one believes me, because that theory spread fast and I get called trendwhore.

hehe ofcourse I don't mind at all more speculations the better :amuse

@ Dr. Homo

ofcourse I know when someone serves Voldemort he will serve forever or will die, but I wasn't really talking about serving Voldemort, we are trying to solve the puzzle about the fact who this person R.A.B could be because it is a relative of Sirius as I heard on some interviews from J.K.Rowling o.O

However she never really mentioned it is a relative, but I think we can all guess that it is almost certain it is.

I thought of this about 5 seconds after guessing.:P

Regulas came to my mind as soon as I saw the initials, so I'm thankfully not a trendwhore hah. The thing was, I wasn't sure what Regulas's middle name was, but I guess it's confirmed now.

Well yeah, but the thing now is is about the fact what will the role be of R.A.B in the last book what will make his entrance in the book so suspious so many people wanna talk about this guy, what makes him such a mystery after all this has happened to Hogwarts and Harry Potter and Sirius Black and all others, what is his part that connects to all these mystery's. Will this guy change everything for what ever Harry or Voldemort ever tried to achieve ?

i figured that it could be him. but then he must have had someone with him because i dont think he would be to keen to drink that potion. although it probably doesnt matter if someone was with him or who it was. i just spent a while thinking about that so i thought id bring it up

Dumbledore said that you couldn't do it alone, but I figure he had Kreacher with him... and that's why Kreacher is so screwed up. My initial theory was that the "A" stands for "and."

Damn it makes so much sense. I'm retarded so I never would have thought of that. I also didn't see the interview. It also makes sense as to why he isn't in any of the Hogwarts books because once people knew he was a death eater he was probably erased from them.

it makes sense, it would also explain why voldemort killed him,, maybe he realized that regalus found about his horcruxes and killed him,, because i think i remeber some one saying in the 5th book, i think it was sirious or mad eye moody, that regalus was personally killed by voldemort, so yea, why would voldemort kill someone personally who just wanted to leave , he would have had one of his death eaters do it, but he realized that regalus found out about his horcruxes and killed him, and i don't think voldemort realized that regalus found and hid his horcrux or he would've kept him alive just to find out where he hid it, so he killed regalus thinking that regalus hadn't found his horcrux..

hows that for a theory..

Fairly convincing. In the absence of more convincing evidence, this'll do.

I didn't even THINK of Regulus. Interesting theory. However, why would he want to do this? :/

I was thinking the same thing, even before knowing about what J.K. said in the interview. Well, actually, I heard of it from a friend who heard it from a friend who read all 6 books over again to find out who it was (when I only had to take 2 seconds out of my busy schedule to hear it from my friend!:P)
Anyway, it seems highly likely that Regulus is R.A.B. It said in the note "I have taken the Horcrux and destroyed it...". This would make Regulus being killed by Voldemort (Voldemort doesn;t normally kill himself. Only if someone truly betrayed him.) make sense. Voldemort would see it upon himself to make sure that Regulus was killed, because losing a piece of his soul would be a huge deal, right?

If you don't have the time to read the above stuff, then just read this:
I think Regulus is R.A.B.

Yep, that's it!:tem
