I have just finished the part in which they explain Fei's multiple personalties (Id and the coward). Also finished the part where they reviel that Wiseman is Khan, who is actually Grahf in disquise. I can now finally move freely around the world map on the second disc, and I think I'm supposed to go fight Deus. I haven't played the game in a while, so I'm not really sure about fighting Deus.

On a side note, can someone tell me how to put up the banner into my sig? I'm really confuesed on how to do it.

I started buying drives (I like to call them steroids) from Big Joe. Plus I did that whole thing on duneman's isle that gave me Citan's katana. But I guess I still need to level up more and get my stats up before I decide to face Deus.

Are you going to max out your chars? I think the drives are only useful for chu-chu, since it also affects her stats when she is gear size. Max value for stats is 200 + equipment.

No its not useless. Earther Attack and Deffense on any of the cara gets amplified in a gear and helps for added attact and protection. so if Esmeralda has 120 erth deff and you increase to 200. It will help to in your gear as added protection.

Well it saved my life in the sense that I wasn't doing so well in this game of life two years ago leading to me dropping out of school. Then I found this game and it took my attention from all hardships and sadness and I got back on my feet.

Well, story over. I don't love this game for that. I love it just because it's such a kickass game! I still get goosebumps from hearing the music.

I tried it with a gameshark, but he used that Damn Kishsin X (I think that's what it's called) and I never could deal enough damage. I think you can use the code to get into the debug room and then go through one of the doors to jump ahead to right before the fight though, if you wanna give it a shot.

Yep. Although, you have to take time out to buy stuff and go to the battling arena before you go to Solaris.



Stuff:

GNRS 50 (from battling arena)
Speed Shoes (from battling arena)
Magnetic Coats - 4 (bought from Aveh, first time you get there)
Old Circuits - 2
Evasion Rings - 3 (from Shopkeep Johnny)
Sonic Gwhip
Frame HP 50 - 2
S50 engines (more fuel)

Bart and Billy are your companions. All characters are equipped with Evasion Rings. Fei has the Speed Shoes. Someone is equipped with the Trader Card for the Slayer Robe.

Weltall: GNRS 50, Magnetic Coat x 2
Andvari: Magnetic Coat x 2, Frame HP 50, Sonic G-whip
Renmazuo: Old Circuit x 2, Frame HP 50

Weltall uses System Id and attacks. If he dies, game over :xp

Andvari can use Wild Smile to lower Grahf's hit % and attack. Attacking with Sonic GWhip can silence the Eth Engine, which renders Grafh's Guided Shot usesless for a while. If Andvari's HP drops below 10k, use your Frame HP 50. Use booster. I used Wild Smile first turn, then booster, then alternated b/w Attack and Wild Smile, and healing when necessary.

Renmazuo charges, or uses Frame HP 50 when HP < 10k

Magnetic Coats increase Response, which increases Gear evasion of attacks.

Old Circuits also increase Response, and Defense. When you charge and get hit, damage is reduced. Damage to Renmazuo when charging was reduced to about 1k per hit, IIRC. Renmazuo is cannon fodder. Booster is up to you. I think I used it.

I didn't use Seibzehn (too slow) or Crescens (low HP)

Took me about 5 tries, since Grafh can hit you even when affected with Wild Smile. =/

I wanted to make it easier for all gears to Reach Inf mode so I made a GS code that has it set to 99% like Xenogear. It was funny cuse even normal wetall went inf and kicked major ass.

Tbh, I never saw any regular gears in infinity mode. I think your HP had to be low for the Infinity mode % to be significant enough. :S Maybe I'll play it again. :tem

I learned about Response and Defense only because I equipped someone with 3 Old Circuits (I forgot who).

Yeah I came up with a game shark code that allowed all gears to be set at 99% all the time. Like Xenogear.

Next you have to have all cara special attacks. It worked with Fie quiet well.

Especially agianst Calamity. It was funny I finnished the gear off the same way the cutscene happend.

And for Emerld weapon The first time the battle took 20 min. And I survived. But then the time ran out and I lost.

So I got the item that lets you fight past 20 min I lost count and I was short on supplies but I won! Man that was the hardest longest battle cuse i never did prepared properly.

Yeah In FF 7 anyone with the proper materia combo becomes a god in that game.

Me I did not bother to exploite those combos. At that time I had no internet and it was my sec or third rpg I ever played so..... it was all brute force with me.

I never got that in-depth with the game to figure out how to exploit those combos, but I did use KOTR to defeat it, I don't think I have the patience to try to beat Emerald or Ruby without it.

I knew how to pull off some of the materia combinations that he used during the fight, the real problem with me was just leveling up my materia or finding the materia I needed for the combos.

The basic strategy that he used was part of the following combinations. To keep himself alive without having to either cast revive or use a phoniex down, he combined the materia revive with the materia final attack. The final attack materia would allow you to make one final attack before you died, so if you combine it with a revive materia it allows you to atomatically revive yourself. Its basically has the same concept of autolife. Next he combined Knights of the round with the Quad magic materia. This allowed him to cast the summon multiple times without having to waste alot of magic. In order to use the summon at least once, he equiped tifa with the Hp/Mp materia. This switched tifa's mp and and hp giving her enough magic to summon knights of the round. Finally he used mime to mimic the action of summoning knights of the round over and over again. I'm not too sure but I think that you don't waste Mp when you use the mime skill.

And I saw another one were this guy beat SMB3 in 5 min. Now that is some serious skills.

Especially with the amount of time requierd to breed a gold chocobo to get KOTR. It took me about 4-5 hours.

Yeah, the Chocobo races were kinda boring, and you had to do a whole bunch of them, but I guess that evens out when you get KotR and the other materia

Actually you can pair Knights of the Round with Quadra Magic, i've done it before, and I own the strategy guide. The guide lists this pairing as a complex combination in the front of the book.

I don't think there's any special combonation for the materia, all you need to do is pair them. Maybe you put the two materias next to each other in seperate slots, but you thought they were paired together. Or maybe they have to be paired inside an ultimate weapon for the combination to work.

A little off-topic, what about Xenogears made you all enjoy it so much? For me it was the story and the anime cut-scenes. But I really liked how the game was so plot-driven, I would get to a stopping point but want to continue playing for JUST a BIT longer to see what happened next.

I'd say, "Ok, I'm playing until the next save point appears" then I'd keep on playing way past that save point. :xp I wasn't really fond of the change of pace during disc 2 though, when you were relegated to watching events unfold. Not much exploring to do.

The music was great too. My personal favorites were the world map music, Babel Tower, and the boss battle music, but I liked the whole OST. :D

Well I love mech games and martial arts. So this came to me like 2 in 1 pakage.
And after I saw the intro I had to keep on playing it, more than any rpg I have ever played. The only other game I played this much was Castlevania SOTN. Not an rpg but close enof.

I didn't like the way they told the story in disc 2 either, it didn't really give you a chance to stop and take your mind off the story. Plus when you made it to a save piont it didn't really feel like one because the game pace never really slowed down.

Plus Given the fact that Grahf Syncronizes 100% with his gear compared to Id - 99% I have to say that In gear Grahf more than puts up a good fight.

On Foot I still give it to Id thou no question about it. (remeber this match is before Id/Fie makes contact with the Zohar at the end of the game)

I would definatly like to join this FC. Xenogears to me has to be one of the best RPG's out there.

And on the fight, I believe that ID might be able to actually win both. On foot more then definatly due to all of his abilities and skills. But in Gear...I think it is about the same resutl. He may not have the specs fully like Grahf, but ID was a definate Wild Card. And that factor might be able to turn the tables for him.

Well I do remember when I foght Id (dessert of despair) he hit me and did damge of 19,998.

Compared to Grahf, 29,997. In thier respective gears.

On top of that Graf gear is an Omni and Garf made contact with Zohar. That alone explains why hes so damn powerfull.

Thats why I conclude that in a gear fight True Wetal (Ids) vs Alpha Wetal (Grahf) I have to give it towards Grahf.

I just wish that more staff from the original Xenogears team was working on XS. Now there's no one left from the original team working on XS. And I just found out that XS 3 is the last one, I thought they were doing 5 of them? All the way through 6 :sad. And yeah a remake with less plot holes would be great.

It's extremely story and cutscene driven. Think being able to interact with a movie, mixed with a FEW Xenogears cameos/references, and you get XS. Good idea, but it's been poorly executed.

Hm..I dont now about Ramsus he does pilot 2 onigears thou. The gold gear that id destroyed is not an omnigear.

Yeah it just that I thought (at one point) to have had the full list of Omnigears listed including the ones from Perfect Works. But Ill keep on looking to see if maybe Im wrong and thier was a registerd 12th omnigear.

Anyhow I come to the conclusion to why Grahfs Gear is so damn strong.

Omnigear = Diablo. Diablo are the prototype gears that Deus have as a deffense mechanizam before the angles came. And are fuzed with the power of the Zohar Modifier. While Omnigears are fuzed with the anima/animus granting them further power. Or accsess to use more power from Zohar modifer.

But Alpha Wetal is; Gear + anima + Zohar Modifier = Alpha Wetal.
So what Im saying is that Lecan had first aligned Wetal with Naphtali. Creating Alpha wetal. Then further powering up with Zohar Modifier its self (you see the scene were he finds it in the ruins coverd with ice and snow) giving it a huge power bump. Thats why it out ranked alot of the other Omnigears when you fought it.

As for Id Wetal. Id wetal was desinged from Alpha wetal/Diablo retaining 99% of its power. Witch would explain why its so damn powerfull its self over the other omnigears. And this is with out powering up with the Zohar Modifier or alinging its slef. Its basically a super Gear. Or a clone Alpha Wetal Diablo.

As for Xenogear. It is a perfect Diablo. it alighend himslef with the zohar itself (not the zohar modifier) something that Lecan/Grahf couldnt do and become perfect in every sense of the word able to to carry our unknown/infiniate potential to draw power from the Wave exsistance its self. Damn thats alot.

So I started replaying it today ..... damn RPS badge was a pain in the ass. I HATE doing that in the very beginning. I spent the majority of my time level building. I've learned almost the first 6 or so DB for Fei and Citan and I'm only in the stalactite cavern with Bart and Fei.
Now I can mow through the game.

There were a few confusing things I noticed though:

The 3 way scene (well 4 way really:nuts)
Is just an omen or bits and hints on whats to come.
Remember the last time Id confronted Graph it was when Id went physco and started to destroy both forces.

From what I garthed two gather Graf confronte Id.
But lost
But Graf other persona Wiseman (khan) came out
They dont explain what happen but he managed to soccumb Id
and make a new persona Fie
And then he took him to the village.
Hence the diaolge "I wont allow you to have him" Khan was speaking to both Id and Graf in a sense.

Id:"Our father, Khan. He sealed up my personality in the deepest recesses of my consciousness.
Through some inexplicable reason, that was when the present Fei was born."


The second part Im not sure why they look alike. hmm:notrust Ill get back to you on that ok?

That's cool, I thought that maybe Khan was speaking to grahf when he said "I won't let you have him" Since Grahf wanted to use Id to destroy Deus (I think it was b/c grahf knew that Id was stronger, or something along those lines)

And the whole Elly/Sophia thing with the Cpt's daughter I think I may have read in a fanfic before, but made A LOT of sense, I just can't remember which one though. I think it went something like, the cpt's daughter was a friend of Abel's and since the Zohar was the one who spared Abel when the Eldridge crashed, Abel had the Zohar 'save' or recreate Abel's mom (Miang) and his childhood friend, the Cpt's daughter (Elly/Sophia). But that leaves a lot of holes in the story. I thought that Miang and Sophia/Elly were somehow connected, I can't remember how. ARGGGGGGGGGG this is driving me nuts! I'm gonna go play some more now.....

Elly and Ming are connected. Elly was created by Zohar to help Fei. Thats why they have infinate erther potential. But Deus intercepted the programing of Elly, and made Ming. So thier seaparte. Ming still carries out Deus programing and retains most of the power of Zohar, While Elly carries out Zohar programing to help Fie but retains a fraction of the power.

Thats Why when Elly Becomes Ming she is refferd as the True anti-type.

I got all this from perfect works. Ill post my source it makes more sense when you read it strait from the book.

I think I have a rough Idea of Fei and Elly, and Abel and the Zohar, but why was the Contact\Antitype needed? And how did Elly and Miang split, and what do they each represent?
Fie is the contact. Wave Existence chose him to become the contact during the short moment you see in the opening clips ware the Bridge starts to crash due to Deus.
Fie is the only True survivor of the Crash.

The Contact purpose is to Free The Wave Existence from the Zohar ware it is trapped, and to stop Deus.


The Antitype is needed to aid the Contact.
Although the Wave Existence did no chose (or could not save Elly) Elly is needed to repopulate the world to help fight Deus.
And Free the Wave existence from the Zohar ware it lied trapped.

So Elly is also given the same potential as Fie. The problem is that Because Deus uses the Zohar as a power supply. Deus is aware of what of who Elly and Fie are. And what their purpose is. So Deus interferes with Elly original programming (or mission) and splits into to. On one hand we have Elly who resembles the daughter of the captain, and Fie's love interest who is destined to be with Fie and carry out Wave Existence mission. On the other we Have Miang. Who now carries part of Wave Existence mission but altered by Deus to help Deus regain its bio pars and body.

Because the programming was split in half. Miang keeps most potential to draw power of the Zohar. While Elly keeps a fraction of that potential.

This also explains why, when Elly becomes Miang. She is referred as the True Antitype and her power begins to raise (also refer to the comment Miang said about Elly being powerful for not being in an "Awaken State". And although She follows Deus commands, she break the programming (as shown in the end) and follow her own choice (or Wave Existence plan)

I just bought it a couple weeks and I like it. It's not really a hard game if you make sure to get your deathblows trained up, but I'm kind of disappointed with how small it really is. Introducing naration on the second disc is interesting, but it also makes it seem more like they're just tying up lose ends rather then drawing the journey to a conclusion.

Yeah, I know Fei and Elly are the main characters, but Rico, Maria, Chuchuwtf, and Emeralda might as well not be there after their big moments.
