Does anyone have any "real" vampire stories/experiences? As in something that happened to *you* or someone you know well. Also, does anyone know any sites and books that are about *real* vampires in history/modern day vampires.

That being said, I don't believe that vampires exist, but I always look into supernatural stuff anyway just out of interest, there is a tiny possibility I am wrong after all.

(and yea, I couldn't stay away, this initiates me wasting time on the forums again after a month and a half)

you might as well ask about if there is any true story of werewolf frankainstein etc...where does people get these ideas from anyway

I never said *true.* People get these ideas because they happen to see things that are very abnormal, either because there is something wrong with their head, because they are extremely scared, because of elaborate hoaxes, or because what they see actually exists. If vampires existed for example, they would already have a code of conduct established to prevent people from finding out they exist. Or they would all be hunted down by bored teen agers that want to play vampire hunter. I am in *no* way saying that is the way it is, I am just using that as an example.

I have a friend who considers himself a vampire scholar and believes they are real, but I don't think they ever existed and are just good subject matter for fantasy novels. That being said, check out the Noble Dead series of books starting with Dhampir. A really great read, those.

The books are fantasy and are set in a fantasy world, so they aren't really what you are looking for, but if you've already read and tired of Anne Rice, these are great. My vampire expert friend adores them.

lol, you know, I do have a story. Funny but it's a story I hear nonetheless. Just so you know, it's been a great long time ago so I don't think I remember the exact wording but the issue of this story cause quite a fuss during that time. lol.

Anyway, here's the story. An old lady (I think) has pass and a funeral is being held. As you know a funeral can go for as long as 5 days to a week, I think. Anyhow, no one is aware of the person who came and only thought he came to show his respect. As he got nearer to the coffin he bit the dead woman. He was pull away by the people there but manage to ran away. So you know, there are family members or close relatives who'd sit next to the coffin keeping watch and accepting sympathy (?). And one of the woman sitting closes to the coffin saw the old lady sit up in her coffin. The old lady (I think) turn to look at her and say something to her. She scream and back away from the coffin. When she blink and look back at the coffin again the Old Lady lay as still as she has been. As dead as she has been. The woman who saw the old lady was so freak out that it takes, I think, a couple shamans to bring her out and quiet her spirit.

So, that's the story. Sound silly and weird I know. Not like the usually common Vampire we all know and heard of. Well, again, I don't know what really happen maybe someone is just hallucinating or something. I didn't attend the funeral with my parents. lol, well, it is an interesting story ne.

IMO, Vampires were just invented by the many who were superstitious long ago... it's hard to believe that they exist.

Well, it depends on what you define as vampire. If you're talking about vampires as the immortal, undead creatures of legends, of course they don't exist.

However, it seems that some people do live a "lifestyle" of a vampire:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampire_lifestyle

Personally, I like the taste of blood and I used to cut myself just to taste my own blood . However, I never drank anyone else's blood- it's just not hygenic. :P

Also, there are some psychopaths out there who's behaviour is similar to vampires or ghouls. For example, Baroness Elizabeth Bathory believed that girls blood made her young- and she killed hundreds just so that she can drink and bath in their blood.

Hm... vampires do exist. But they do not fly. They do die. And they are not extrodinary beautiful gods or goddesses. They have vampirism! Now, hear me out before freaking out because I have vampirism. We do not live forever or hundreds of years. We do need an amount of blood injested into our body, but that amount is like a coffee cup per week (not like a whole human-amount a night like those movies make it out to be!). We are VERY sensitive with the sun. Ten minutes under the sun with no protection and we turn cranky, ditzy, ect. We are more active at night. And by ACTIVE, it means that to us, night is day. We work out at night. We dance at night. We live by nights. All of people can stay up late. But to be active at night, it is a whole different thing. We are more intouch with senses. That is why a whole lot of vampires are artists. The smell in the air, the feel of fabric, the tension,... we feel them on a higher level. It is also a little bit easier for us to learn something. But we are not genius!!! And we are somewhat paler than normal person. But we still have skin problems like any other normal human-beings.

To final, does vampire exist? Yes. But not the kind of vampire people was told. And it is NOT heritage. There is a certain combination of DNAs just make a person born a vampire. So it is VERY rare. You CAN'T make a vampire. Some scams gonna promise you this and that to give you the "gift" but it is mostly all BS. They mostlikely are trying to take advantage of you financially or sexually or simply for their fun. Actually, I should say it this way: there is NO vampire, only people with vampirism!

I think vampires did at one time exist. I think that it was propable a blood disease that humans have become immune to or it evolved into something else. I believe that some of the symptoms might have included paleness of the skin adn a low heart rate or something leading people to think they were undead. Maybe they even caughed up blood or something to explain whey they alway had blood on them. Now, I don't believe that they were immortal creatures of the night that could turn into bats or suduce people. It is a very popular lifestyle that many adopt to this day. All this beig said, isn't it weird that so many groups of people across the world had the same types of tales when their civilizations never came inot contact with each other. It makes you wonder doesn't it. Maybe I'm crazy but yeah, I think vampires existed at one time and who knows, they could still today. I mean, super strength, and immunity to diseases, maybe the next step to human evolution? All you gotta do is avoid the sun adn drink blood....doesn't sound too bad I guess.

The only vampires that I know about irl were these weird kids in my highschool who would meet with eachother to drink like cows blood or what ever animal blood. I don't know because I never cared to ask.

Drinking blood is kinda unsanitary.

Vampires the next step in human evolution? Pshaw...that'd be like calling an animal highly evolved because it preys on it's own kinda. And the modern mobs would do them in--only with shotguns instead of pitchforks. It's a proven fact that shotguns kill everything.

"...I vant to suck your blood!"

BLAM. BLAM. BLAM. BLAM. BLAM. BLAM. BLAM. BLAM. BLAM. Intended victim empties nine rounds into the vampire's head.

Vampire: *Dies of acute lead poisoning.

The only vampires that exist today are extremely silly people who like to wear lots of black and write bad poetry about how pretty blood is. My theory on the matter is that vampires, while having a shaky basis in fact, are only popular because people find the idea sexy.

And they fantasize about it.
Vampires are not real
The fetish is

Being born and growing up in Arkansas I ahve never had the chance to come in contact with someone of this sub-culture. Although I will admit that in my younger days I did try to drink other peoples blood for a while. Not much mind you but enough. First off I would like to say that I in no way think of myself as a vampire, well not really. Ha. Anyhoo, it is very dirty. And I thank God that I didn't get viruses or anything like that being stupid. Yes, I do like tha taste of blood and the sun does hurt my eyes. Light sesitivity runs in my family but I'm not a vampire. Mostly, I'm just a young man who has insomnia, sensitive to the sun and does in fact kinda like the tast of blood. Like you know, when I cut myself at work or something. Not cutting myself.....don't know why anyone would anyways. Even if they were a vampire drinking your own blood wouldn't give you any sustanace at all.

Oh and yes Martryn is right I do love the Dhampir books. There is four of them out now and I suggest that anyone who loves vampires or fantasy pick them up and read them.
