I thought that I would start a new thread about Gits: Sac. I recently watched the new Ghost in the shell movie couple of days ago. Thought it was very good. Anyone else watch it, or have anything they'd like to rant about Ghost in the Shell? Post here.

I thought SAC was alright, though not as good as the movie. I still have to watch Innocence. It's been sitting on my harddrive for a month now.

Innocence is a very good film, very entertaining. The only drawback is that it continues the story from the first film, so the Major does not appear in much of the film although I can say she does provide a crucial role to the story. If you want lots of Action with Major Motoko, I suggest you watch the series, both seasons for some good times. The Innocence movie has a lot to offer in beautiful Computer generated spectacles, and if thats your kind of thing, like it is mine, I'd say go for it and expect many good things.

I really want to see innocence in the theaters, but the closes theater to me that plays it is an hour and fourty-five minutes away...poo. Just have to wait untill it comes out on video.
SAC rocks in so many levels its superb in everyway, I love the fact that they didnt make the major an Ice queen like she was in the original moive. SAC 2gig is also great I highly recommend it

i have the first volume of SAC. I really liked it. I'll prolly end up getting the whole series. I like more of the side missions they do in it. Rather than them having one main mission and only doing things related to that.
(btw...i also really liked the soundtrack to it)

If you want to find 1-26 of Gits Sac Season 1, then go to http://www.boxtorrents.com. If they are down by slight chance then use the edonkey p2p program.
Welcome in advance.
(you must have bittorrent installed to download from boxtorrents)

Anyone in to it?
I watched the movie a few years back, but I just saw a few episodes of the TV show a couple months back, and I'm hooked.. They also released the direct sequel to the movie in the U.S. this September, and I like that a lot too ^_^
So yeah, who's seen it, and who likes it?

Yes, it was quite intriguing. It's been a really really long time since I saw the original, but I thought Innocence was great.

I'm kinda confused here cause recently a series called Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2ng GIG is being released and others are being called 1st GIG, I haven't dl/ed any of the 2nd GIG episodes but is there anything different between the 1st GIG and 2nd GIG or are these 2nd GIG just rereleases?
-----so confused :blink

GITS SAC has the most appealing animation I've ever seen. The detail include is overwhelming. It is a true work of art. Now the story can get somewhat convoluted at times, but overall definetly a great series IMO. The GITS 2 Movie "Innocence" was a bit of a letdown to me. I'm a huge Kusanagi fan and as Quadragon pointed out she plays a very small but vital role in the film. It is not in the same category as the first movie but still worth watching IMO. Quadragon I haven't watched any of the second gig yet, thanks for the link!

I watched the first four episodes of this, and a few episodes in the middle of the series. Never saw any of the movies. I really enjoy what I saw of Stand Alone Complex though. Shows like this can induce intellectual discussion about moral values.

One of my favorite animes these days. The whole show was really good. I was wondering if anyone else enjoyed the series.

I liked it too, but i was lost through half the series, can't wait for them to air Second Gig.

It was good, though a little confusing with the technical jargon. Second gig by far outshines the first season, but it shouldn't be out anytime soon according to the guys who ran the geneon booth at Anime Expo. The fansubs are quite good, if not a bit slow, since only one guy is doing it, and he's a factory worker in Japan translating encoding and doing all the work on it himself.

2nd gig is GITS:Stand Alone Complex, 2nd Gig (like gigabyte, a play on words for the 2nd season)
Laughing Man fansubs has it subbed up to ep 20 or 21 I think. You can find the BT links at anime yume. It Rox, your Sox.

I wouldn't say that I am a huge fan, but I do watch it every time I happen to see it on. And I've seen a few episodes twice. It really is a great anime.

I just thought it might be good idea 'cause well hokage sarutobi looks alot like the head honcho of section 9. Also 'cause I like this anime pretty much.

Now that you mentioned... you're right. They do look alike. It's gotta be the beard. :laugh

Yea, probably. If it wasn't for the fact that Naruto and Ghost in the Shell are different series, I'd swear they were twin brothers who were separated from birth and led completely different lives.

I'd love to see Sarutobi and Daisuke Aramaki go out and have tea together.

I just caught the first episode of 2nd GIG today on Adult Swim. I loved the first season and today's episode did not disappoint. The second season looks more pretty than first and the soundtrack sounds like it will also surpass the first seasons.
(Anybody catch that last move the Major did, falling out of the helicopter to kill the last terrorist? That was sweet and the song that played during that sequence was amazing.)

Yeah. That shot was an homage to the first movie in case you didn't notice.
FYI, volume 2 of 2nd GIG is now out on DVD. GET IT!
