Oh man! I finished watching the TGS trailer and this movie is going to be the shiz! What do you guys think?

you download the movie, the vobsob files, and the english sub file here (http://www.torrentspy.com/search.asp?query=Advent+Children&submit.x=0&submit.y=0).

#1) install the vobsob.exe (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/subtitle_tools/vobsub.cfm)

#2) put the english sub file in the same folder as the movie (it must have the same name as the movie. the extension should be different).

#3) start the movie, a green arrow appears next to your clock/bar right below of your screen.

#4) right click it, a window pops up, under languages it says japanese, change it to bien-ff7 or whatever your sub file is called.

#5) enjoy the movie =)

I remember how much i freaked when i found out they were making AC. It's like Square finally paid attention to all the angry letters i was sending to them about a PS2 remake of the game :D

I can't wait to see Vincent in the movie, not to mention Cid.

Hells yeah! They showed Cid in a fight scene during the TGS trailer. It was so cool! Everything about that movie is beautiful (so far anyway). I'm seriously counting the days until it comes out.

The release date was pushed back because Tetsuya Nomura got sick. I know Square Enix is really pushing for a 2004 release. I heard recently they bumped it up to December.

I heard that with AC they may or may not rerelease FFVII and what may or may not had been changed is still unsure if they are. Would be awsome, game still rules, no sense in a sequal game sense there is going to be the movie.....but still I would rather a FFVII sequal then anything. ^_^

the confrmed release date is july 2005. it was supposed to come out july 2004 but they wanted to make the dvd release and the psp release around the same date. but i tink that it should be coming out in japan november or december. They should also really make a re release of final fantasy vii on ps3 instead of ps2 since it would oblvioulsy take them more than a year to make if they are going to make the graphics better and evarything if they do i hope thers some voice acting!!!

Square is EVIL I TELL YOU!! They are giving us FAR FAR away, and not good pictures of Aerith (Aeris), I bet it's Tetsuya getting square to torture us by not showing us Aeriths face... EVIL!!!! Oh, and I have a strange feeling that Cloud will die in AC, it would be a great ending... Cloud X Aerith. Also in Before Crisis you have the turks as the main chars leading up to the Dirge of Cerberus with Vincent as the main char of both. Connection? what do you people think... about Cloud dieing and who Square is evil beyond recognision?

It's been out since July?.. :| Idn't know that, considering the popularity, one would have though at least one of the fan subbing groups would have gotten to it.


Edit: I looked into it, and no it's not out yet. They are still shooting for a 2004 release in Japan, The american version wont be out until 2005.

From what I heard, Square Enix sent it directly to DVD after the failure of Spirits Within which I think put their movie branch to bankruptcy. (could be wrong) If I'm right the DVD will come out in the end of 2004 in Japan and around February in the U.S.

nope, the guy with the white robe is not Sephiroth. He is the president. i got this from a reliable source but whether or not it is Rufus is not known. And guess what??? the voice actor of Kadaj(one of the Sephiroth clones with the shoulder-length hair who appears to be the leader of the trio) is actually Shikarmaru's voice actor.

Aeris won't be revived, as the creators said that they would never bring her back because they felt that death in fantasy had no meaning since everyone just comes back. they wanted to buck the trend, and did so wonderfully, one of the most emotional parts of any game ever.

After reading the translation from the Shinra webpage, it seems it'll be a while before it comes out. Trust me, I am looking forward to it. Well I heard for a long time that its going to be released right to DVD, and that when that occurs that they were also going to make it viewable for PSP, I guess probably like an added bonus or something for buying the sony product and all.

The original rumors was that it was going to be released just for PSP, but thankfully they were confirmed to be wrong. Then there were the ideas of it coming out to theater, but those rumors seemed to subside more and more since there were no announcments or anything about that, but now there seems to be enough information that its coming straight to DVD.

I've heard of something like when it goes that it will go directly to DVD. and there will be one for the PSP. It is suppose to come out during the summer in Japan and somewhere during the Holidays here in America. That is the projection I believe.

Another Rumor I heard I do not know if this is legit but could be very interesting is that there will be no dub version it will be released with subtitles which I would actually love but I don't know cause that might affect sales. I know the Turks are in it. If they where not, it wouldn't be FF7. Thoes guys played quite a big role in FF7 after all. They wrecked the Sector 7 (think that was it, haven played trough the game in a while) after all. And they where involved in alot of stuff when you where in Junon doing stuff.

However, I didn't know that Nanaki (Rex XIII's real name) wasn't in the movie. A shame. He's the coolest dog I've seen. Leto (Nanaki's father) was my hero though. :sad

And about Spirits Within. The story was mediocre. Characters where mediocre. Animations where splendid. However. They should've made Advent Children from the start. Making a completely new thing can be quite hard, especially when it has to live up to the 'Final Fantasy' name.

First off, creating another FFVII: Advent Children thread in the same forum section would be pointless and the two threads would most likely be merged. Second, I don't see why anyone else who is knowledgeable of the movie can't answer another person's question/contribute to the discussion. If you disagree or want to clarify another person's comment, you could easily do so.

That being said, there hasn't been much news about FFVII:AC other than the fact that it's being extended beyond the original 90 minutes that had been planned, thus making it a "real" full-length movie instead of just a short film (although there are plenty of movies 90 mins long :blink). As others have stated, no release dates for Japan or the US, although it's been announced that FFVII:AC will be released in UMD format for the PSP. I just really wish they would give us dates...this, and waiting for Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy XII is killing me...T_T

Well, I'm not going to use the SPOILER tag because I'm assuming people interested in this movie have already played most/all of FFVII, but Tseng and Rufus both die during the course of the game (Tseng is killed by Sephiroth at the ancient temple, and I'm assuming Rufus was killed in the explosion created by WEAPON's assault on Junon), so if we see them it'll only be during flashbacks, like Zack. Either way they were fairly minor characters so I doubt we'll see them (although I always thought Rufus was cool). I'm hoping to see Elena.

Unfortunately, there's nothing new and exciting posted there--just the trailer with an English VO (yep, still no American voice actors yet). But the important thing is that Square Enix USA has acknowledged a definite US release for the movie, which is good news. I just hope they're not going big screen like they did with The Spirits Within; I'd be perfectly happy with just a DVD release. Oh, and UMD for the PSP, also.

I just hope they're not going big screen like they did with The Spirits Within; I'd be perfectly happy with just a DVD release. Oh, and UMD for the PSP, also.


From what I heard, no worries there. I've read billions of times that they have no intentions of putting it in movie theaters (probably because of how much money they lost with The Spirits Within), so unless that's changed recently, I'm thinking it won't be.
