I can't wait to see the Cloud vs Sephiroth fight, especially the new version of Choukyuubushinhazan. As for the Kadaj turning into Sephiroth thing, after re-reading the summary, it saddens me that this Cloud vs Sephiroth fight was yet another "inside Cloud's mind" battle. What a copout. XD

As for Rufus having Jenova's head, I was also surprised. Until finding out, I expected it to be hidden in the monument in the centre of Edge City.

Also, yeah, I've heard good things about Aerith's appearance. And if Kingdom Hearts, the FFVII:AC mobile phone avatars, and the PS3 tech demo is anything to go by, she does indeed look beautiful. As I've always prefer Aerith to Tifa, I'm glad. <_<

i saw a clip of cloud finding tifa in the church, and him fighting againts kadaj, loz, and yazoo, actually. those scenes were developed beautifully, and i can only imagine how that fight will turn out.

I am actually gald they did not post the complete ending in the summary. Gives me more reason to dl and then later buy it. Also i can imagine/thorise about the ending for a little bit :D:D

For anyone interested, Square-Enix have added a new subsection to the Advent Children website called "On the Way to a Smile".

On the Way to a Smile is written by Kazunari Nojima, the same person responsible for the storyline of Final Fantasy VII and Advent Children. It is a novel set four years after Final Fantasy VII, but the story itself primarily consists of Denzel talking to Reeve about his own experiences during the beginning of Final Fantasy VII and up until Advent Children. Episode 1-1 has been published.

Eh well, they took the counter release date off the US/English website a while ago. The reason that happened was because apparently "There was no official release date." The original rumors said was coming out on DVD in US stores this Tuesday.

My guess is that they are still working out all the subtitles (I hear the Japanese DVD doesn't have subtitles) along with the English dub and extra features.

Hopefully they will release some good extras and the Final Fantasy anime OVA they are doing in the Japanese release.

Just save the sub file (make sure it has the same name as the movie, not counting the file extension of course) to the same folder with the movie in, then download and install VobSub. Play the movie and you'll get a new icon in the Taskbar (only works with some video players though) that looks like a green arrow, right click it and choose the correct subtitles.

Reno and Rude survive, you see them stood by Rufus as his Seikon Shoukougun heals. One can only assume that they escaped via the nearby helicopter.

i went straight to mininova and got the subs there then put the file into the same folder as the movie and it worked straight away for me, make sure the names are exactly the same minus the extension.

The summon fight. Don't like how everyone was just doing stuff and doin gnothing to it. Then suddenly Cloud comes in, and they just do nothing while Cloud is defeating it. Well with the exception of tossing him up and that's about it.

It'd be nice if it wasn't so Cloud-focused. But I guess it's to be expected... but should've at least shown more of the others...

- The quality was amazing, yes. That incredible to see this.
- The music is amazing (nice remixes and all).
- Character design rock.

But:
- Way too short, so the story goes way too fast... (1h30).

- No magic, no use of materia (except, 3 sparks of lightning and a Bahamut).

We don't know that the materia we see Kadaj equip was Bahamut Sin, if anything it was probably the materia for that generic magic spell he used on Cloud a few times. He no doubt equipped a bunch more materia (I mean, you see how many materia Yazoo and Loz had equipped at the end) including the Bahamut Sin materia while he was off-screen.

...all the Sephiroth clones created by Jenova in FFVII, the fact that Jenova cells changed Kadaj into Sephiroth surprises you? I mean, Jenova's most well known ability was the ability to change form, and having spent five years in the Lifestream with Sephiroth, she must've gotten quite attached to creating clones in his image.

I don't get this either, lol. I was happy to see Sephy return cause he's my fave character from any game, but really what's so special about Sephy in the story? Why not just a super-powered Kadaj? I guess maybe his change in appearance was to symbolize that he'd become the "perfect" clone of Sephiroth but it didn't seem like this was just a clone...it was THE Sephiroth....he said "It's been a while, Cloud" or something like that....I dunno....FF storys always confuse me >_>

I'm not going to let myself get hung up on little details though, I might be a fangirl but I'm not as picky as some obsessives -_-;;. I think we should just enjoy this movie and be happy Square cares about us FFVII fans enough to make it! THANKYOU SQUARE!:nod:

Jenova no doubt had access to all of Sephiroth's memories prior to the end of FFVII, the Sephiroth clone you chase throughout FFVII also has access to all of Sephiroth's memories, so it's logical.

So is it necessary to get into fan-theory territory here? I wish Square would be...I don't know...a little more cut and dry with their plots, sometimes...I love FFVII but theres a lot of stuff that I didn't really get and sometimes I doubt if Square really meant to leave it so open ended...or just forgot about some stuff...

Why do you think Jenova would choose to manifest itself as Sephiroth for the final battle? I guess maybe Sephiroth's memories could give him the edge when fighting Cloud thanks to previous experience....but then Cloud also knows how to fight Sephiroth too...I guess if all Sephy clones are identical to Sephy in every way...including the way they fight, then it kinda makes sense..

Still..kinda don't like having to get into all this speculation, I wish Square would just answer our questions for us! I hope you don't mind answering a bunch more questions I have about FFVII later.....you seem very knowledgable on it! ^_^

It's a logical and simple conclusion. Plus, the water being poured on Denzel could be symbolic of baptism. Holy...holy water...get it?

To put it simply...Safer Sephiroth >>>>> Sephiroth. Sephiroth fresh from rebirth isn't going to be as strong as Sephiroth after spending five years in the Lifestream with Jenova's head, getting stronger all the time.

The only remnants of Jenova left are within any remaining members of SOLDIER, as well as Cloud and Vincent. The water cured Geostigma, but it didn't eliminate Jenova's cells, or else Cloud wouldn't be as strong anymore and Vincent would've jumped at the chance to get rid of his mutation, but Sephiroth is pretty much gone. The cells are there, but the influence isn't.Oh, and some food for thought...
It can be assumed that the only ability Kadaj had prior to obtaining the materia was the ability to summon Shadow Creepers. This means that Bahamut Sin can't really have been created by using a Shoukan materia alone unless the plot was retconned so that Cloud and the others found it during the events of FFVII. I for one, believe that Kadaj's own summoning ability, coupled with Jenova's influence, corrupted either the Bahamut, Bahamut Kai or Bahamut Reishiki materia.

The movie was awesome.:thumbs It's like the REAL treat to beating FF7 than the original short FMV in FF7.

I am guessing that the bit that Sephiroth was talking about was mainly tossed in there for the possibility of a sequel or more FF7 games... or maybe he'll show up in the Vincent game.

I was wondering that myself. The weird thing was that in the game, the second-in-charges of Shinra referred to him as dead, so unless the Turks did something cooky, I don't really see a plausible answer.

Watched this movie yesterday and I gotta say OMFG REALLY REALLY GOOD!
It was soooooo awesome, but the Sephiroth vs Cloud was a bit short, even the whole movie seemed short for me. Making it 20 mins longer wouldn't hurt at all. I give it 9.5 of 10.
A must for a Final Fantasy fan!
