Opening theme music has been changed to unknown song
Character names are the same. Naruto, Hokage, etc.
Transformation jutsu in place of Henge no Jutsu
Sexy Jutsu in place of mangas Ninja Centerfold. Nosebleed editted out.
Clone Jutsu in place of Bunshin no Jutsu
Background music is the same or very similar thus far
Multi-Shadow Clone in place of Kage Bunshin no Jutsu
Some blood editted out of Iruka/Mizuki battle, not a lot though
Iruka-Sensei rather than Master Iruka (English manga translation)
Village Hidden in the Leaves in place of Hidden Leaf Village or Konohagakure

OVERALL: Very good episode, extremely accurate translations, good voicing, not too many major edits. I loved "Wind" by Akeboshi though, it's really one of the best songs ever, too bad it's gone. 7.5/10

EPISODE 002:
Naruto's catch phrase appears to be "Believe it!" rather than Dattebayo
All of this episodes content was left in tact, minus the bloody noses

OVERALL: Another good episode, accurate translations again, superb animation quality, not any edits besides nosebleeds editted out, same great background music, can't wait until Episode 3 coming next week! 8.5/10

I was happy with the trailer/preview clip because I expected it to actually be worse :S. I'm going over to a friends house to watch it on a 60" display and surround sound, so that will make it good even if it isn't quite as good as we'd like it to be :P.

It's funny KnK because if one had never seen the Japanese anime they would probably call the English dub quite good. I have high confidence because I am just thinking of the business aspect for VIZ, would they really let a future billion dollar franchise NOT be up to expectations? No. It will be good, some people just won't like it for the same obsure reasons they don't like some other dubs, all of which thus far I've had to disagree with being poor.

Firstly, I won't get to see Naruto since I'm in the UK. Secondly I know it's American dubbed and personaly I like to stick to subbed versions of all Anime I watch. It's not because I dislike the dubbing, in fact I've seen very little dubbed anime - it's more a case of enjoying anime un-cut and in it's originial format. Being in the UK sometimes makes it difficult to get hold of Naruto items. I've been collecting Naruto items for well over a year, importing from Japan, which brings me to say I'm going to be glad of all the Naruto items I'll be able to get from America. One more thing, if you don't like dub you can simply avoid it rathet than go on about how terrible it is. In the long run you knew this was going to happen sooner or later, just think about the good things it will bring like more Naruto fans, Naruto moving up in the popular anime charts - possibly to number one for all we know!

Well all the trailers and previews seemed pretty decent. Also they kept most of the original Japanese words, like Hokage, sensei, etc...
It's gonna be good. Strange at first but good.

All of us Canadians here have high confidence in all the rebels having it online within 30 minutes after it airs, somewhere lol. Anyone anywhere in the world will get to see it within the next couple of days. Of course, that is not to be said that I endorse the illegal downloading of dubbed anime. :wink

And also I don't get why the first 2 episode are gonna be playing over and over in the next week...It's so the people who want to record the dub but are currently unable to due to crappy VCRs, like myself, can do it later in the week once they gain access to better ones. :wink

Im quite confident for the dub, as I've read they put much work into it, and it sounds like a good way to pass the time :oh I've read the manga english and quite liked it, just hate the word doppleganger :xp (heard in the dub its still kage bunshin though)

The only thing I think I will hate is how it sounds. Not the dub voices, but the intros and outros, in which the japanease ones are truly amazing. =3

Other thing to worry about is; the kids who want to join. check my other thread if you know what I mean XD

On other side, though, it will able those who can't watch it to see how's it like, if they're keeping true to the storyline, and such. Helps controlling what you post.

Amazing how I just logged in, more posts are up. I'm wanting to watch it for curiousty sake, but I wont like it. Either I'll cry or laugh. Either way though, as mentioned by Tazmo, those who watch it for the first time for the Americanized verison of the series will probably find it really good. If they watch the Japanese version (original), they might think the girls voices are slightly higher than they should be. So, its a matter of first impressions. Though I prefer the Japanese verison (I say that now), since there many things the original japanese crew will have that can't be used in the dubbed version (ie. datte bayo). Either way, they don't watch the original, they miss out. Nevermind they kind of did change the technique names...I'm honestly getting goosebumps each time I watch these trailers (watching because I'm curious)...it just doesn't sound right.

I'm just a little afraid to see the fandom that this will create here for the "Amercianized Naruto" fans. T_T

Central timezone it will air at 8pm. It airs right after Zatch Bell, which I am watching right now.

Pacific and Mountain run differently. (If I remember right, it would air at 9pm Pacific, 10pm Mountain... but cant remember for sure).

On a sidenote... I have a DVD-R set to record the full hour, so afterwards, I may go to the trouble of trying to check for any major changes on reviewings.

I fully intend to record every episode if possible (and then just buy the uncut DVDs)

People whom seen the japanese version and got used to it will whine about everything. It's not about making the american voice actor sound like the japanese actor, it's their own version of Naruto.


Thats infact the wrong [very wrong] way to look at English Dubbed anime. They ["they" being the directors/voice actors/script writers] should do every thing they can to creat a english track that stays as true as possible to the story and chracterizations as the original version. The english dubb should all ways be compared to the perfect version [japanese original].
The English version of Naruto will be bad, there isn't even a hint that it would be even decent but thats some thing I was expecting. What all english dubb fanboys should understand is that all the coming comments towards Dubbed naruto [the bitching etc] is only = to the passion Naruto Fans Feel towards the series.

Once again all ways compare the english Dubb to the japanese original. If you start not caring and standing behind bad dubbs you'll just become a Izlude and who the hell would want to be like that.

God, you guys just love to bitch and complain about anything...I mean this dub is much better than the manga...they left in Iruka-sensei instead of Master Iruka...so they translated the names of techniques...doesn't that make sense for an English audience o_O...I mean the only other option was to use the Japanese name and put the subtitle below it...about the voices, I think they are good all things considered! We could have gotten much worse, and their could be much worse edits! We could have gotten a crappy rap intro instead we got a rock opening...which is okay, I guess...I would have perferred Rocks except translated and sung in English...I just want to see more and I think the rest of you should before you damn the English dub of Naruto

The English dubb is below what I would expect from even a common run of the mill anime series, even one being put directly to DVD for release. If you stop and compare the Quality of the series to the english dubbing it's terrible. I can't comment on the intro, there was a 90% chance that they would make it a rap type since thats what all the kids go for or so I hear.
For those posters that are attacking or trying to attack the other posters that have negative comments towards, remember they are as much a fan of naurto as you are thier opinion of the dubb is equal to thier respect of the series.

Also... opening theme changed... looks like there won't be a Haruka Kanata... angry about that. Otherwise pretty happy.
