You get to hear Sakura's voice, Naruto's "Shadow Clone Jutsu", and they use more of the original music. It's also very easy to notice that they are using a lot of scenes from the original Japanese openings, so that might be a hint that they are leaving them in.

Yeah. The misprounciations weren't grevious or that bad, though. At least they seem to be keeping everything as close as possible. He even said "Shadow Clone", which is better than "Doppleganger". Hopefully they can keep up the good quality up to the debut and beyond. I'm glad they are at least making an honest effort towards the series.

Exceptionally good trailer, they certainly did their job when it came to finding interesting footage to use.

I'm a little disappointed with Naruto's voice actress, but I'll probably get used to her nonetheless. I honestly don't think they could have done much better, especially when you compare with the original voice talent who essentially has a monopoly on his character.

Neji's name wasn't mispronounced, but Temari's was it sounded like Ta-mari-ee
rather than what were used Two-mer-ri. However I won't nit pick on stuff like that considering I don't really like it when others do :P anyway pretty decent site this is probably the first time any of us has gotten a chance to hear Naruto's voice in a non-serious situation and from what I heard I'm becoming more comfortable with his voice.

I didn't hear any mispronounced names, except maybe Shikamaru. As for the pronouncing of Naruto, it's a bit off, but not terrible, because it could have been na-roo-do. Or. if it was dubbed by 4Kids, it would have been way off and pronounced nay-than. Just try pronouncing Naruto in an english sentence 'properly'. I wish I can hear Sasuke and Kakashi though, but THAT won't be for another week or so. So, with less than 27 hours to spare, let's hope for the best *fingers crossed*

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The only weird pronunciation was Naruto. They say Nah-roo-tow. I hate that 'tow' in the end, I really do. I'm not thrilled with Naruto's voice, neither with Sakura's, but I think I will get used to it. It's not THAT bad. I fear for other characters though...Let's just wait and see...

I watched it four times. I like the trailer. Descriptive and accurate and original music.

There really weren't many things that were wrong with it. The only mispronounciations were probably Kankurou and Shikamaru I believe--but no biggie.

Flanagan's has lots of potential and I am sure she'll do better as the series gets on. It take time to get use to the role and know the character. The original Japanese voice actress probably did the same and if you watch the first episode and some recent episode--you can hear a difference.

And I'm probably one of the few who like Sakura's voice.

Overall, I am very satisfied and excited. =D

As for those guys that said Hokage is pronounced wrong,I've studied the Japanese language for awhile now and if there is anything I have learned it's pronunciation of vowels. Hokage is pronounced HO-KA-GAY because "e"s are always pronounced "ay" and "a"s are always pronounced "aw" depending on what vowel sounds are near it.

People say Sakura's voice sucks from ONE line. Hell, only one WORD. Naruto's voice sounded a heck of a lot better after you heard it in multiple instances (I'm so, so glad they didn't go with the "I've got Glaucoma!" Gohan voice or something dumb like that), and while it can use improvement, it's pretty damn close for being English. You can't judge Sakura's on one little word. Personally, it sounds like it'll work. We haven't heard her angry yet, or really emotional (Like her little speech before she tried kissing Sasuke/Naruto). Just shut up and wait, man.

Also, a good point was brought up that English differs greatly from Japanese in that you can't talk at 400 mph and sound okay (Which is something Naruto does a TON of). Some things will always be different, though not necessarily bad. Of course it won't be just like the original. It can't be because it's not Japanese. You have to set different standards when watching a movie or a show in two different languages because of the limitations of both languages.

I guess I'm getting tired of the fact that people keep on saying the VA for Naruto is bad or the VA for Sakura is bad. On what basis on you judging this. To say a VA is bad in sense you would have to mean the VA lacked the ability to create characters in range of their voices in a way that people will recieve them as believable. From the voice clips that were submited from Maile and the VA for Sakura they seem to be able to accuarately do that, so in turn to say that they are bad is an incorrect statement. What you should be saying is the VAs are not what you expected which I'm sure everyone would understand that everyone else has different expectations and to hear something like that wouldn't be as deathly moronic and annoying as a bickering fest over dumb stuff like what is going on now. Just the same as the people who watched the anime for the first time after reading the manga may have thought the voices were not what they expected it's the same thing now. What we need to do is stop comparing it to the japanese version and look at it as an english dub interpretation of the manga.

I think that trailer ruled! Sakura sounds about as stupid as she does in the Sub and Naruto's voice..... It sounded beautiful almost as good as teh dub version of Ed's from FMA. Yes, most of the pronounciations are correct....

But it is a double edged sword. On one hand you have a faithful translation... on the other, you get a slight awkwardness when trying to combine english and japanese words together in the same sentence.

I liked the trailer. I would of liked it more if that damn background music wasn't in the way, but oh well. I won't say anything about the VA's seeing as how we have so little to base our opinions on.

I poked through the site a bit an found that they are calling Konoha, "The Village hidden in the Leaves." I don't really know for sure if that is the literal meaning of Konoha or not, but it just seems like a mouthful. I hope they eventually just refer to it as Konoha. It just makes things a whole lot easier to refer to.

I was really happy about the music :tem And the fact that they had clips from the first and second seasons' intros makes me happy as well. I swear, if I have to listen through another horrible rap interpretation as an intro song, I'm going to smash my TV in (I need a new one anyway).

But the names are said fairly well, and I have hope that there will be original openings. Just...the way he said Shikamaru sounds more like he said 'Skiamaru' or 'Shinkamaru'...but I'm sure it's Shikamaru as all the others kept their names. Now if only we could have heard kakashi... ^^

Yeah that trailer was painful to watch, a lot of things were good about it, like, uhhh... Okay nevermind, it was just embarassing, especially when they just started randomly listing ninjas who don't appear until the second seasons names. I was embarrassed for them. Sakura's voice sounds horrible, Naruto's sounds horrible, but passible, and that narrator was making me turn red with shame for him he sounded so bad. Nevertheless, we haven't seen enough to judge it yet, and I'm still looking forward to tomorrow's premiere.

Some of the names did sound a bit wrong, but I wouldn't take everything announcer guy says for the thruth. Remember when they first Naruto in english turns out they did do it right in the dub afterall. One thing about that does bother me is why don't these guys have a pronunciation list?

As far as I know almost every script that has difficult words in them have such a list. Off course some names and terms just sound weird with an english (american) accent and there's nothing that will change that.

Music remaining the same is probably the highlight of the dub. The rest is painful, other than the pronunciation of Naruto, everyone seems to say his name slow too. "Multi Shadow Clones" is better than "Art of the Doppleganger", but that voice is too high pitched and sounds like he's recovering from some sort of brain injury (like all those grunts too).
At least they got a few of the names right though. Either way, not sitting through this censored and painful dub. :D

The trailer was OK. Are they dubbing over parts that are included in the opening and ending scenes now? The part where Naruto punched that guy, I could've sword that was part of ROCKS (OP 1) then again I haven't seen the first season in a long time so I dunno.

The English VA's so far, sound kinda bad, but they sound better than I expected. Still, after hearing them it makes me think Naruto would've been something better left in Japan, where it belongs. Oh well, also something else inside me tells me that if Naruto had been on Adult Swim, the voice cast would've sounded better (a la Samurai Champloo's dub isn't bad at all) and they would be able to curse and everything that they do in the Japanese version.

It was a great trailer and Naruto's VA grew on me more here than in the dub clip.

As for the dubbing in the scenes from "Rocks" that was probably generic grunting dubbed over the scenes, that's all.

Okay, you can stop quoting me now. If you actually read this whole thread, it's been sorted out.

They said it's pronounced Ho-Ka-Gay (or Gey), same shit.

The point is, it's not pronounced Ho-Kadge. Thats what they say at least.

I just have to say: It's hilarious the way people are bitching about them getting pronunciations wrong, even though they're like 95% accurate. I guess a lot of people just don't know how Japanese is pronounced and want something to complain about. e.e

Voices are okay. For the first few episodes, I must say it's not bad. I imagine that within the first 20 episodes, the actors will get accustomed to the Japanese and their own voices, and we'll start to see vast improvements.

As for the other things on the site, terms like Genin, Chunin, Jonin, Sharingan, etc. are all pretty much in tact. The elemental 'ton attacks are being dubbed as "Styles", IE, "Fire Style", which sounds good. Jutsus are being translated accurately, droping the "no", and leaving the word "Jutsu", ala "Clone Jutsu", "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu", and "Sexy Jutsu". Come Come Paradise has been dubbed "Make-Out Paradise"... It's a lot better than anyone expected, that's for sure.

My thoughts...

Naruto's voice: Good. It continues to amaze me how eerily close to the original it sounds. Very good match in my opinion.

Sakura's voice: A bit disappointing, but the sample we got was so short, I can't make any real judgments yet. And in any case, it wasn't terrible, so I think I'll be able to live with it even if I don't warm up to it later.

The announcer: t3h suxx0r. Like too many Americans, he has a bad habit of putting the wrong emPHAsis on the wrong sylLABble, unfortunately, so a lot of the names he was running through got butchered. (Hi-NAH-ta, Ka-KAH-shi, Tay-MAH-ree, etc.) And it sounded like he sneezed Shikamaru's name. XD That said, it's just the announcer, and is no indication at all of how the names will actually be pronounced (just like both of the Toonami announcers got Naruto's name wrong, yet the dub turned out to have it right regardless), so it doesn't bother me.

The rest: Honestly, I can't find anything wrong with it. Accurate translations of the jutsu names, keeping words like jutsu and Hokage, keeping Sexy no Jutsu, editing out as little blood as possible (if that other clip was anything to go by, anyway)... what more could you ask for? I know there are plenty of people who'll never be satisfied regardless, but whatever. I know I'll enjoy it, at least. :P

People who think Sakura sounded annoying when she said that, well she sounds annoying when she says it in Japanese too :P .

As per usual, the complaints I'm seeing about this are illegitimate at best and inaccurate.

Sakura, and Naruto have okay voices but they just sound too.....

too white. There is no accent whatsover, and it sounds funny at first

but i love the translations, so i'm gonna give the first 2 episodes a chance tonight

actuall i'll probably watch it even if i don't like the dub....lol

You guys need to realise....most of you aren't Japanese. Another thing to consider is it's going to be close to impossible for American people to get the pronunciations 100% accurate because the Japanese pronounce r and l somewhat together if that makes any sense. The name pronunciations aside from Kankuro were accurate.

I am not a Japanese expert nor do I claim to be one, but listening to the Japanese and then the American pronunciations back to back you'll see they were fairly accurate

Sas-kay-are you guys sleeping when you watch the show? This is how it sounds, it's not Sah-soo-kay. It's the same with names like Kyosuke, the suke meshes together to sound like "skay"

Nah-roo-toe-if you listen to when characters like Sakura say it in the Japanese version, you'll see that this is the correct pronunciation. Again there's no way Americans can get it 100% accurate because of the way the Japanese pronounce "r"

Ho-kah-gay-again some of you must be sleeping when you're watching the show or something, this is how it's always been pronounced

Shka-maru-the pronunciation is accurate. It's not Shika-ma-roo, it's Shka-maru, you'll notice this when Naruto says it in the Japanese version.

As for Sakura's voice...dude..it's annoying in the Japanese version so it needs to be annoying in the English version. Forever people have been pointing out how annoying she is, until the timeskip *manga spoilers* she is annoying. Naruto's voice is a billion times better than what I expected and the pitch is accurate when compared to the Japanese. Even if the first episodes suck, I have complete faith in Naruto's voice actress. Face it, there's no way Naruto's voice will ever live up to his Japanese actress, it was the same way with Vig Mignogna doing Edward Elric's voice. This is about a thousand times better than getting Luffy's awful dub voice.

I'm happy that they're translating the names because if they left them in Japanese everyone would throw a fit about the way they pronounce it. This trailer was awesome in my opinion. And who cares if you guys despise the dub? At least we're getting uncut Naruto on DVD in the form of 13 episode boxsets instead of having to buy 500 DVDs with 2-3 episodes each. When you get the DVDs you can watch the Japanese version to your heart's content

It sounds a little weird when you are accustomed to the Japanese voices...But overall they sound ok. Sakura might sound a bit less annoying if the remove the -Kun from Sasuke's name :)

so the pronunciation's aren't perfect, but they're a lot closer than what other dubbers could (and i'm pretty sure WOULD) have done. Other dubbers might have said "nayrootoe" or "sah-soo-kee" knowing how most people pronounce them. It's almost as bad as how everyone in north america says "karate" or "kah-rah-tee", now everyone says it that way and thinks its like that, we're lucky they even tried to get it as accurate as possible, so we should at least be a little thankful. We're even luckier the dub has the same names!

Well it looks like there going to keep it PG for know. I hated all the voice acters, none of them sound that good to me...which makes me worry, like others have said, about Sasuke, Itachi and Neji. Then there's Haku, who knows if they will keep him as a guy, it seems like amercanized anime has a tendsy to change the sex's of chariters at times. It could have been worse though...

The names seem pronounced to me, but that Nar-oo-to name, always gets to me ^^;
