Welcome all to The new Chrono Series FC....this is my first FC so I'm not too good at how all this works, but I'll get it down in time. The original Chrono Trigger FC pretty much died so I just went along and made a new one to continue the honorable legacy of Saikoukage....that's kinda obvious but I just wanted everyone to know:). I hope to run this FC and live up to Saikoukage's name.
Well uh...I need to find out how to make banners and stuff so I'll do that when I learn how.

well I'll update as things go by. feel free to pm me or post here if you wanna join. oh yeah I may start a Cham Cham FC in the future if there are a significant ammount of Cham Cham fans or at least people who know about her in the forums. I'll try to make this fc as fun a possible so please make suggestions of how I should run it. You know like maybe role play, or ....something :laugh. I don't know about role play much, but I can learn.
EDIT: New rule. I will now be asking members that are joining to request what type of design that they want for their name. meaning what colors they want, if they want it in bold, italic or underlines. If you don't want a design then no biggie, but if you do, feel free to suggest anything......anything I'm able to do you can request for your name on the list.....and members that have already joined can request for me to change the design of their name at any time:)
New New Rule:I will also display one random Chrono Series character a day.
Here are the banners we have so far. I will display multiple banners so that everyone may be happy and pick and choose. I will put the banner in spoilers and display the name of the banner maker to give them their due credit . I will wear all banners to represent each of them. Other members may, as well, but I am forcing no one into anything.

Chrono Trigger's great, but I don't know how long it'll last if we only talk about how great the game is......I guess it might last long, but looking at other fc's that usually dies fast.

how about we make a RPG of this for example you chosse a charcter of the game the main ones (crono, frog), the enemies (masa,mune), minor characters (taban, chronos mom) and random people (the merchants, soldiers) and when we have all the options chosed you create one or something. ill think of the rules later if you like the idea

hell yeah. first the castle theme song kicks ass, then you get into the fight and the way the music comes in?......priceless. My favorite song is Ocean Palace though...that's the place where Crono dies.

Mad props to GBA rehash the only reason i was able to play such a great game(sword of mana), which makes me think of the the highly unlikely idea of a chrono trigger rerehash i know im dreaming but if possible would it be for the psp? I believe that nintendo and square have made a deal for some new games so that may count it out im not sure. What do you think?

hello everyone I'm finally back. I was at the west indian carnival representing Haiti. I will add you guys as well. Thankyou for joining I feel really vigorous right now :D. and don't forget that you can customize your names by request.

EDIT: to anyone that doesn't know, I am a walking faq when it comes to Chrono Trigger. I have even helped people develop faq's for the game. I've played it when it first came out and I bet it at least twice a year, if not, then even more times a year and one game always has to be from scratch. I've beaten the game on the snes, playstation, the pc, and on the modded XBOX with the emulated games.....I am a humble member of the forums, but I am also confident in my skills at Chrono Trigger. I even know most of the lines from the game:D...........yes I'm that much of a loser :)

And how useful will be Vigil hats in the last battle. ^_^

ok the black omen is an interesting dungeon since you can go through it once or more depending on what time period you beat it in. If you beat it at 12000bc (the earliest time to go through it) then all the other eras will lose the black omen, but if you beat it in 1000ad, then if you go to the other two time periods with the black omen (600ad and 12000bc) then you can go through it again minus the bosses you face in there. The only bosses you'll face is the boss at the end of the omen. Lavos will only be fought once in his copy form and his first real form when you go through the black omen. After that you will not fight those two forms when you go through it again.
Note: you can't enter the black omen in 2300ad since it's locked, but you CAN fight the lasers in the front once.
Another note: tubsters give power tabs when you steal from it.

as for Vigil Caps....I don't use them much. I actually use the haste helmet, safe helmet, and prism helmet mostly. After you get powerful enough, then the helmet won't matter. of course the gloom helmet is best for magus, but I always like to experiment. Every character has a "best" helmet for them in theory, but once you reach level 60 and above, then it won't really matter and you can just use the one that has the effect you feel is coolest.

the vigil hat to my knowledge had the best defense or something like that, but I don't remember it having any special effects. If you feel that you need the defense, then go for it, but I'd rather go for the safe helmet with that one....plus it has a cool yellow glow too :laugh

You'll notice a flashing thingie in the thingie and just press the confirm button to go straight to lavos. this is the key to the multiple endings in the game, and for a challenge, wait until marle disapeares in the begining of the game and then have Crono fight lavos alone...fun stuff :laugh
Any team you like is good against lavos as long as you know the right tactics.
Crono Magus and Frog are a great team for lavos though. Crono has his attacks and luminare, magus for his magic, and frog is so versitile, he has heal which will help a lot and he has decent attacks....his magic isn't that useful though, but you won't need to rely on it anyway :)....what I love about this game is that you can use any team to beat the game, and once you start playing new game plus you can have even more fun since you are more powerful....a double edged sword though.
as for the prism dress and the helms, I suggest taking the dress on the first game....why? When you fight Zeal, you can steal a prism dress from her. I think you can get one on her first form but I'm not too sure. I do know that when you fight her final form, you can steal a prism helmet from one hand and a prism dress from the others.

even though it would be cool story wise to fight zeal with Crono Frog and Magus, I suggest fighting her with Crono, Magus and Ayla. You'll still get the story with Magus being there, but without Frog you'll lose a certain advantage that I can't tell you about since that's a spoiler:laugh, but it's not a big advantage so pick Ayla instead so that she can steal from Zeal.
When you finish killing Zeal and you don't know the advantage I'm talking about just ask me and I'll tell you the very very minor advantage.

oh I can't believe I forgot to say that not only am I a Chrono Trigger fan, but I'm a Chrono Series fan. I own Chrono Cross and I also know that game well. I have to say that even though Chrono Trigger may have the best songs in any video game IMO, I have to say that Chrono Cross has the best overall soundtrack for any game....it's kinda hard to explain. Yasunori Mitsuda did the music for both games if no one knew, but I guess most people figured the similarities already.
In the end though Chrono Cross is not as good overall as Chrono Trigger as a game. It watered down the tech system and the area system was taken out, but I do admire the really original aspects to the game, like the combo system that was borrowed from Xenogears (another game where Yasunori Mitsuda composed the music).

I would also like to say how I'm angry at the fact that Square Enix stopped plans for the final part of the Chrono Trillogy which was to be called Chrono Break....I don't understand it fully. Chrono Trigger was made by a colaboration of Square and enix before they merged. the story writer and the Artist (Akira Toriyama) were the two guys from enix and were the people whmade Dragon Quest (the most popular game in japan...it's so popular that laws were made restricting the days that this game is allowed to be released at...it's true :laugh). The other two guys were from Square...well Yasunori Mitsuda is more of a freelance composer, but he was considered part of square's team for the project. Now that the company has merged, shouldn't it be easier to make the third game? It really pissed me off when I found out that they quit the project.:mad

Well Pierre is a good character, you may want to keep in mind that every now and then, you may be forced to use other members from time to time due to .....circumstances. I don't want to spoil anything. I do want to tell you though that you should try to get all of his hero equipment. If you want me to tell you the locations of all of it then I will. If you want to find it on your own then that's good as well. Just keep in mind that his hero items do help him out....the good thing is that everyone levels at the same pace wether they're in the game or not, so as long as you keep updating the weapons then it doesnt matter who you use so Pierre is a fine character of choice.

My favorite team in that game is. Serge, Korcha/Glenn, and Leena/macha.

Just keep in mind that his hero items do help him out....the good thing is that everyone levels at the same pace wether they're in the game or not, so as long as you keep updating the weapons then it doesnt matter who you use so Pierre is a fine character of choice.

My favorite team in that game is. Serge, Korcha/Glenn, and Leena/macha.

ohhh there are a lot of chests in the black omen. hmmmm I have to think about some of the key items in it.....some mega lixers are in there, a magic and power seal, which I almost never use, some power tabs, the very important white rock...well not really important unless you want a tripple tech without Crono in it, some money...I forget how much but it's alot....that's all I can remember....oh yeah the vigil hat is there, but we discussed that before. there may be more...I can't remember...sorry about that.

Well I still don't fully understand the question. Are you asking me how to get into the black omen from the entrance or something? If you're trying to enter in the 2300 ad period then you can't. the door's the only way in, and it's locked in that time period.

Oh as for the techs, you should have gotten all of them in the area where you fight giga gaia but since you have them all now then it doesn't matter. to get the double and tripple techs, just fight once wich as many different team combinations as possible. Keep in mind that Crono must be in the team to get the tripple techs. The only tripple techs that don't need Crono require the rocks and you just have ot wear a rock for it to work. So just focus on unlocking the techs with Crono involved. Magus has no double techs, but he does have tripple techs with some of the rocks.

yup everyone can get to double star speed. Oh and you're right there's only one path in the black omen. I suggest that you try to get through the black omen as many times as possible, but it isn't mandatory. oh and 20 megalixers are more than enough. I only had 7 of them the first time I played it, since I didn't know who to steal them from :laugh. Just use them sparingly and you'll be fine....as a matter of fact in your case you can use them a littl more frivilously.

those stats and equipment are sufficient enough to finish lavos especially with all the megalixers. You know what's another good item that you might want to fill up on? Gold studs. they reduce your magic point usage by 75% it helps a lot. Overkill is good and make sure to steal from zeal each time you fighter her until you feel that you have a good amount of prism dresses (3 are sufficient) and prism helmets (3 are also sufficient, but 6 or 7 wouldn't be bad either).
In new game plus you get everything except key items like the massamune and the hero medal to name a few. You keep stats, most weapons, money most equipment. You also get the ability to fight lavos at any time.
As for your accessories: Power seal is okay for Crono I used something else, but your Crono equipment is what is generally accepted. For Frog, I would lose the Hero's medal because you will mostly be using magic attacks and not physical attacks so the increased critical rate will not be in your advantage. If you have a gold stud, then you may want to use it, if not then be creative and choose something that gives a stat that you will really be using. Your Magus equipment is also a little different from what I used at first, but again, it's what is generally accepted so it should be efficient. The key to beating lavos is knowing where to attack first.

Yup you fight Zeal each time you go in there, but you don't fight the other bosses. Once you reach around level 65 or 70, then you can just equip gold studs to your characters and hardly have to worry about abusing techs. And the other accessory statuses won't matter, much since you will be so strong:)

I've played all the tales games, I even played the japanese Tales of symphonia on the ps2 after playing the game on the GC....they have their differences. Their soundtracks are very good, and they are also a big influence on the Star Ocean games.

Yes in many ways. It's the sequel. I think Chrono Cross messed up the story a little though when they killed off all the wrong people and messed up the hair color of certain characters. Schala's hair is purpleish not blond, so Kid's hair should also be purplish and so should Schala that is seen in the end.

Well, I haven't played the game in like, 4-5 years or something, and I'll probably never play the game agian. I don't even think the memory card still works. But I would love to know what you were supposed to do if you can tell me.
Well you will be missing out on a marvelous soundtrack, but I guess you can always just get the soundtrack anyway. Well after you change bodies with Lynx you would basically get into a fight which you CAN win, but you don't have to win. Eventually you meet someone (I don't wanna give any spoilers) and you have to find your way out of an area which is not even a maze you just follow a path and you enter some fortress like place in a weird dimensional loop and just walk your way out. Not too hard.
EDIT: sorry about not remembering much about Tales of Phantasia Hyuuga Kiri it wasn't one of my specialty games....yeah I suck.

well when you steal from them, that will count as a hit, other than that just use frog's leapslash, marle for healing, and ayla's tripple kick or any other single attack she has. Tripple kick's a little expensive without the gold stud though.

You might want to have frog for healing for an alternative strategy though, since he has heal which heals everyone. But then marle is then just useful as a status person putting haste on everyone.

Good trick. My friend usually does that. I just tend to go with the gold stud just so I can use multiple techs and since I'm already strong, I can kill them quite quick. Prism specs are really good though.

yup the gloom helm is one of the best helmets for Magus. I only use the gloom helmet or the hast helmet for him.....since the haste helmet gives him that cool red glow :laugh...plus the speed isn't bad either

almost everything goes with you in the new game. You just have to reequip it on.
**speed doesnt mean that haste won't make you faster. you can still see the effects of haste even after you max out speed. But it's not that important in the end. Gloom helmet is a great item due to the status protection.

That ending only happens if you kill Magus and leave Crono dead so I suggest if you wanna see the ending, kill Magus but don't save, then kill lavos and see the ending, then continue your game as normal.

Congrats Shiari. Sorry I wasn't on earlier, but I've been doing a lot of translating today and my tv's blurry so it's really hard to read small kanji characters on a blurry screen. I got about 6 pages done today since it was so hard to read. I'm giving my eyes a break from all the straining now :)

When I was talking about seeing human Glenn I was reffering to the non animated ending that was added to the playstation version. When you fight Lavos right before you fight Magus, you get the ending where frog and Magus fight solo....no one really knows who is the figure on top of the castle, because the creators purposefully wanted to make it a mystery :laugh

cupnoodles sprouts wisdom again :). I usually use heal if I get hit with a move that knocks all my hp to 1. I am just really stingy when it comes to elixers and megalixers. You should see how many megalixers I have in the FF games. I never use them...I' so greedy :P
EDIT: well you can do that I don't see what's wrong with doing so, unless you wanna see that ending all the time....which is a pretty ending, but if you don't wanna see it then I guess you can save over it.

sure, save over it. but you should probably stock up on some stuff too. like for instance, you can charm a limitless supply of power tabs in the black omen. then you might as well get 99 mega elixers, elixers, hyper ethers, and all that stuff ^^

and yeah, with the reduce to 1 hp moves, you don't need to use elixers or anything, a simple move that heals everyone will do. usually i just use aura whirl cuz well...i only use crono, marle and ayla XD
with ** speed and haste on, there's plenty of time to heal everyone :)
oh btw, while you have 1 hp, might as well use ayla's dino tail first ;)
(unless she's lvl ** cuz then her fists'll rip anything apart XD)

no no. the mega elixers can be charmed in the future dino cave. i think it's in the middle age. it's the cave where you fight the rusty tyranno for the rainbow shell...

I don't know about that. that's mainly opinion. Chrono Trigger is a rather easy game wether you start from scratch or not, so all new game plus allows is extra endings and the ability to see the story straight through without level up intettuptions. I just play once from scratch and once from my main game each year too experience both. The game is exteremly short so it doesnt take too long. I find new game plus to be no worse than from scratch.

Well that was the animated ending so they just took the liberty of just saying that Magus dispelled the curse himself.
remember that it was added after the original game and the enix guys didn't work on the cinemas. Akira Toriyama didn't even do the cinema artwork. He was too busy working on DQ7 at the time so the got the GT guy...I forget his name at the moment, to do the art.

Hmmmm I wanted Crono/Lucca. Marle is not good enough for him. The funny thing is that the animated ending shows Crono and Marle getting married, but the love story in Chrono Trigger, is soooo vague. It's actually pretty noexistant. There are very few hints at a love story between them. The dream, the special reunion scene (which Lucca has as well), the baloon ending....but the lack of a focus on the love story was what made me like the game better since the other parts of the story were much better.

The game borrows so much from real history and hints at it anywhere. Did you guys know that the line "all life begins with nu and ends with nu" was actually taken from ancient sumerian test? the true line was "all life begins with anu and ends with anu". The games story is deeper than most people think due to all the stuff they borrowed from history in making the story and put little vague hints of it through out.:)

yeah that's what I was talking about, the games story was a lot better since it wasn't a love story. I tend to like games with little to no love story involved such as FF6 FF7...stuff like that. Mushy love story games tend to get annoying, though I don't think they're too bad.
I used to think FF7 was a disapointment until I was thinking about the hidden story behind Zack and Aeris and why Aeris had some feelings for Cloud due to her love for Zack and Cloud stealing his persona....a good substory indeed

It took me a long time to realize that FF6 was mostly an equipment based game so I used to rely more on levels than equipment combinations. when I found out about the equipment importance, I was able to beat the game at about level 43, but I know people who did a lot better than me and beat it at even lesser levels.

ff3 was one of those games where you gotta lvl up at least a few ppl to pull through. i remember in the final dungeon, i had my main attack force who are all like lvl 80, then i got all the other ppl who are down at like lvl 20. guess what? they couldn't make it through the midbosses in the final area XD
i had to split up my main team as a result :crying


are the lunar series sequels and prequels or are they all separate stories like FF?

well with levels you have an easier time, but if you do some tricks for some really good equipment and abuse the vanish doom trick:laugh , then you should have an easier time.
and the lunar sequel is a sequel. it takes place 1000 years after the first game and makes many references to the first one.

But to stay on topic, I heard a rumor from a really unreliable sourse that said the ps3 is gonna get a Chrono Trigger remake....don't know if it's true though. I highly doubt it since they canceled Chrono Bread :
