My point isn't that 50 is a great or even good (or even above average) MC: he isn't. However, I find it a scurrilous and low practice to spend too much time disdaining the pop hit du jour. Hanson-hate to bette noire Britney to 50 frost, and all a waste of time. It's best to spend more time appreciating the lost indy artist, covered up by the sound and fury and execration and adulation of the top-dog. T'is cheap elitism to devote yourself to hating the passing fancies of the day. As a dyed in the wool rich elitist, I prefer to distance myself from the hoi polloi using more rarified means.
