Well, I reckon his surgery will be a success, otherwise the series will lose another character in Gai. In episode 100, Gai pretty much said that he would stop living if Lee died during the surgery.

Though it's not like there really is a huge element of suspense here. Once he actually decides to go through with the operation, it becomes pretty much a given that he'll make a recovery. It's either that or they kill him off... and you know Kishimoto isn't going to be killing off Rock Lee any time soon. (Or ever.)

I was just pointing out that the random caps method is probably a bit too easy to read. Whited-out text or even backwards text would have been better, I think.

Lee survives the surgery while Naruto and a sound ninja fight. Then You find out that he takes Tsunade's sake instead of his medicine and find out he's easilly gets drunk and fights the sound ninja drunk.

Unfortunately yes, he also loses a leg, a foot and an ear. Gai is so sad about this that he offers his own body parts for Lee. So Gai is the one who ends up handicapped and still kicks ass. Nah I'm just kidding. That never happens.
