It's been 377 chapters and no death of a strawhat (besides Going Merry). Which do you think will die first?

It is too aimed at kids, or at least younger teenagers. That isn't relevant, though. None of the Straw Hats are going to die, since Oda has a thing about killing off important characters far, far worse than Kishimoto and Kubo put together. I mean, Pell survived! Friggin' Pell, the guy who flew away carrying a baby nuke in his talons! If Pell can survive that, there is no way that any of the Straw Hats ever die.

I don't think that this has so much to do with which group this manga is aimed at. Quite many characters die in some other mangas aimed at about the same group. It's just Oda that doesn't like to kill characters. How many named characters have died yet except for in flashbacks?

There are probably some more that I have forgot but it is not many named characters that have died. But if Pell could have survived they too could have.

everyone has to die sometime, they aren't immortal. but who will die first? well maybe luffy if he follows roger's footsteps. i personally believe that roger turned himself in after he got one piece, and maybe luffy will do the same after he finds one piece (i'm not sure though).

If any of them are going to die, I doubt there going to show on the dub. If Zoro dies, a war will being, seriously. The only people I can see dieing are Nami and Sanji. Nami for her stealing, she might get caught. But, they wouldn't show her death though.

none, it would be stupid to kill off a character. I can guarantee you that no character will die in the Straw Hats.

None will die. We never see deaths for any important characters outside of flashbacks, let alone the main characters.
it's not aimed at kids.

No, he was shown in custody later. According to Oda-sensei, Arlong survived and wound up in Marine custody, too. Deaths among named characters are very rare, deaths of good characters outside of flashbacks even rarer, and the death of a main character Straw Hat is inconceivable.

He got kicked off the crew. He isnt important to the crews survival. It would be emotional. He had his moment/is having his moment in this arc. I think he would die saving Robin.

Well Mr. 7 was named... I think it was. I recall Mr. 1 saying something about Zoro killing him after he was asked to join BW. (Then Smoker and Luffy both said that he killed a lot of the bounty hunters on Whiskey Peak).
While Bellamy's death wasn't shown, well there's a very high chance that's he headless.

As well unless Bellamy screamed because he was almost hit by Sarquiss' knife who did that just to scare him and Don Flamingo was feeling friendly, then I'm sure he's quite dead...
Anyways. One Piece isn't aimed at kids. I don't see why people say stuff like "One piece is aimed at kids" yet the same people say "Naruto isn't aimed at kids." Either way, I'd say that Oda draws the manga for a general audience and is not drawing the manga only for kids or probably with them mainly in mind.
And deaths with characters without names, I'm sure that in those mass scale battles in Skypiea and Alabasta, some people died(and the above mentioned Whiskey Peak event). So I don't see why people like the above poster says there will be no deaths period.
About a Straw Hat dying, I doubt it. It's not really neccessary and not worth it in the long run. (Especially conisdering how past characters actually make future appearances, wheter it be in the storyline or in mini-arcs on the cover.)

I doubt anyone will die.
But if someone were to croak, it would be Usopp. Unless he learns how to be a proper shipwright, he is now and will always be useless.

Okay, speaking seriously, Usopp was damn impressive in his battle with Luffy. If that was Luffy from before, say, the Arlong arc, Usopp would have had a good shot at winning. Usopp is far from useless.
But I agree that if someone were to ever die, it would be him. He's definitely the most tragic character, or at least the character most suited for tragedy.

Friggin' Pell! I can handle Neji and Chouji surviving. I can even accept that, despite all of the blood and violence, nobody died in the whole Soul Society arc except some poor nameless 12th Division guys whom Mayuri detonated.
But Pell! I just... there are no words.

Lol, none. Oda doesn't kill off anybody. Not even the least important characters. Of course he won't kill off the main ones...

The chances of Pell being utterly destroyed by that bomb were quite higher, yet he survived...
I agree that OP isn't aimed at kids, but let's face it, nobody half important will ever die in the series (not counting flashbacks).

Gin dies from Krieg's poison(he tells Sanji that he only has a couple of hours left to live when he's loading Krieg's men on that boat.
The Arabastan Royal Gaurd died from that thing they took that caused the users to become really strong for a while and then die.
But yeah, there'll never, ever be the death of a main character in One Piece.

That falcon guy appearing in one of covers confirmed that no one will die to me.
Well you have to give credit to Alabasta's strongest Warrior... (He was ready to have a rematch with Robin... he only lost at first because he was caught off gaurd.)
But yeah, Gin supposably died. (Though I'd rather he lived as he was one of the bettter characters.)

I was feeling kinda...cheated by Oda when I saw that cover. The scene where he sacrifices his life was kinda moving but how I am supposed to feel for a character doing something heroic/etc if I know he'll eventually come unscratched? I was already pissed when the guy who was electrocuted by 10 million volts was partying the same day but this is too much. Next we'll learn that Roger is alive and fine as decapitation was nothing to him.

well some guy told my months ago that oda would kill 1 of the straw hats pirates...since going merry is going to die so he was right...
but i don't think anyone will die and if someone die it only be in the end of the story of one piece,because i believe that the previous character like gin(that possible survived),krieg,morgan,buggy,arlong(wasn't he a pirate from a shichibukai?),etc..i think that they all will have an important role in the future maybe fighting each other or against the marine or the shichibukais...maybe there some will die..until then i don't think so :|

yeah...like ussop will eventually be a great figthing character the fight of him against luffy rock it..

Well if you're referring to One Piece in general... plenty of poeple have used guns so far... (looks at the Alabasta battle and maybe in the Skypiea battle.) Yassop, his father, whom he looks up to, uses one. If you mean Straw Hats killing people... well I'm pretty sure Zoro has killed 100+ ... (according to Luffy and Smoker, he did), and wasn't it mentioned that he killed Mr. 7 before? So I doubt there'd be anything wrong with Usopp using a gun.

If anyone should die...ANYONE it should be Ussop, now its not because i dont like the guy. Its because his weapon is a SLINGSHOT. WHat kind of pirate uses a slingshot???

? I'm sure many people have died. Especially considering in the Alabasta battle both sides were technically "Good" and I'm sure tons of soldiers died... same with the other mass scale battles in One Piece. You can say Gin from Don Kreig's crew was "good" in a way.

Since when? It was specifically stated in the manga that he was going to die.
There was nothing whatsoever about them curing him. At least that I recall. The anime has shown people afterwards when they weren't shown in the manga, such as Kuro for example.

Yeah, there certainly have been a lot of people getting shot through the chest and such. Didnt Robin get impaled? I could see Luffy being okay a couple of days later, but I wonder how she wasnt bed ridden for months. Yeah shes got a powerful ability, but I dont think there has been any indication that she can take hits like Luffy or Zoro.

They wont kill of a member, I mean they only have 7 members...if some died they would be seriously out of luck.
Luffy also tryed to pick the best crew members for the job, and I feal that each of them can stay safe by themselves.

One piece does have a better plot in the regeneration spot. If one gets seriously injured then it sometimes comes back to get them. Like when Zoro fought against Mihawk.

Also One Piece IS based for kids, as with Naruto. Its probably meant for pre-teens or up to lower teens.

If anyone would die i say zoro only because for the final battle luffy would have to be his strongest and we all know when luffy is pissed he owns, so zoro i think is closet to luffy since that was luffy's first crew mate. It would be a strong emotonal death that would serve a great purpose to see luffy in pissed off action mode!
