One of my favorites out there, the show was good, and so is the manga :D . Of course, it's just complete randomness that happens in both the manga and the show.

Ohh LOL that was about the weirdest, most random anime I've ever seen. I kinda liked it though..how they poked fun at pretty much everything..XD..but it got kinda dull towards the end cuz of the lack of storyline. Still...very very funny series..^^ I really liked it.

The anime is totally hilarious... I really liked it... My favorite is moment is definately when Space butler appears during the alien invasions in the second episode...

I have seen the anime, but not the 5 last episodes... it's good, but.. I don't know... maybe it isn't my cup of tea really... but I like it O_o
I like Key, the j-rocker... I like his pants ^^;;
and the episode about anime was fun, when Excel was drawn in different american drawing and animation styles ^__^

Well, I actually didn't like this series so much. The animation was good, but when I tried to watch the first episode, I was really confused. I wasn't really a knowlegeable otaku at the time, and furthermore I really didn't know much about the japanese culture. So I missed a lot of the jokes. But I re-watched the episode again and I began to smile. I didn't laugh but I smiled. I just didn't like the amount of dog eating. ^_^
By the way Sabaku I can't remember if I have told you this, because I have wanted to for quite some time. But I really like your signature picture. w00t!

Haha, good memories of this series, I was at bestbut trying to buy anime and I picked this up and it was like, "oh yeah, looks random, which could be good, meh, I'll keep looking, OMG1!!1 WTF!!!!, it has 5 episodes on one dvd!!!! SOLD!!"
So, the cheap bastard within me is what originally allowed me to buy it. I loved the series at first, but the later episodes got kind of boring and redundant, Although Nabeshin is my favorite character of any anime.
And Pedro! PUDDING!!!!! NOOOOO!!!!!!!
i have only seen one of the excel saga series and man it was f**ked up.
that could drive the normal insane.

Episodes 1-23 were only fairly funny, but 24-26 really made me laugh hard.

I love that anime! (then again...I love'em all)
I havent read the manga yet, but my dad bought me Excel*Saga the IMperfect collection (box set) about 2 weeks ago. So I got to see whole series. And I must say that it was VERY random. And I like how Rikdo always does that "I give my permission..." thing at the beggining. And the stuff in there has jokes that only anime fans would get!

U should also watch puni puni poemi. It's even funnier than excel saga. There are even cameo appearances by the Afro guy.

The "afro guy" happens to be the director of both Excel Saga and PPP, Watanabe Shinichi.
I love the Excel Saga manga (particularly because it's almost completely untouched), but the anime is a mixed bag.
It's like, they shoot a shotgun of gags at your face. It's overkill, plus most of us Americans don't get many, so only about a third of the jokes are actually funny. However, there are about 5 gags/minute, so it usually ends well.
Rikdo Koshi really draws women well, former hentai artists who draw regular manga = win.

Excel Saga is quite possibly one of the most random anime I've ever seen. It's up there with Furi Kuri and (possibly) Azumanga Daioh. But Excel Saga rules them all in terms of random puns on Japanese culture and stuff like that... Like the food game in the "action episode." *sigh* good stuff...
And did anyone feel as sorry for Menchi as I did? His song at the end still rings in my heart... *goes back to cooking ;) *

K. But how many pages is one vol.? Because if it's at least 15+ pages, I'll just need one vol. 'cause for my school project, we had to rewrite a fairy tale, legend, etc.. And you guys can all agree that a manga or comic is at least sorta like this? Yah, so I'll just buy it off Amazon.com since one there is like 3 bucks. My friends and I will just split up the payment. Thnx guys for your help!
