I use Ken and Ibuki as well. that is a big coincidence....actually now my main 2 are blue Ken (I've only used blue colored ken since championship edition :laugh)and Makoto. My ibuki isn't that good since I need a six button lay out to use her well, but I do just fine with Makoto and ken with any controller. I've actually entered some tournaments with Ken, but even though I can parry well, chinatown fair is no joke.

I bought the sf controller for the ps, but the dpad is really bad.

Its cuz I taught u how to use him bro :amuse Street Fighter II was the most revolutionary and most inspiring fighting game, if not, video game of all time! No one can fake the funk on this fighting series (cough cough world heroes) This is what Legends are made of! I dont think anyone can deny the fanatastic aura of a match of street fighter, players and spectators alike. When it all comes down theres only me and my street fighter! Count me IN!

that tactic is totally unabusable in SF3 due to parrying. SF3 actually made the fireball trap disadvantageous since you tend to leave yourself wide open and the fireball takes out miniscule damage. If you jump over it, then Ryu has less time to do a DP and even if he does it isn't too hard to parry. If he does a roundhouse kick then you may be in trouble since the parry time for that is a little odd.

it's easily my favorite fighting game. It is as balanced as possible imo, but certain characters like Makoto, and urien to a certain extent, do get some advantages. Plus if a 12 vs elena match is no contest. Elena can out prioritize all of 12's moves

well let's just say that Makoto can kill Akuma with one combo, if she grabs him with the special throw then it's over for him :laugh. As for the other characters that face Makoto, she is decievingly fast and has good priority. The problem with Makoto is that she isn't easy to master. To use Makoto experty requires extremely good reaction time. Her defense isn't that good so you have to know how to read your opponents moves really well too. Once you get that down then you can use her many pressure tactics with her jab/short into a jab rush punch and special grab them when they lose their wits :laugh. She's a great character to learn and master....the best japanese player known is a makoto player.

well just remember that her 2nd super is probably her most useful due to the juggle and double super possibilities. her first super can be linked after a rush punch....easier with a medium/strong or hard/firece rush punch. Links are different from super canceling though. A super cancel is when you cancel one super move into a super combo by doing a super move that is basically half of the motion for the super combo, linking is doing a move and while they are still in hit stun you do the super combo motion and hit them before they recover.

also her special grab is a good combo starter, her weak punch/kick and ducking medium punch are good poke tactics and combo into the rush punch.

yeah ken is still my best character by a long shot as well, but my makoto is slowly catching up.
Ken's third super has always been his best. A lot of people used to mock me for using such a weak super then once freaking magazines and stupid strategy guides started saying the same thing, people started to act like I never told them that already :laugh

i love that special as well.it not only does it let me use the ex moves but it gives me three short bars to fill giving three bars of pain. when i dont use it thoug i use the shinryuken instead. i find it very useful

shinryuken is good, but I usually don't rely on anti air. Ken is an offensive guy and once he is put on the defensive, it's really hard to win a fight. I also love to link his weak ducking kick into a quick special it catches a lot of people off guard....I wish his taunt still comboed though.

i dont use it as an anti air mostly. i use it when another move is expected. and i taunt frequently as it gives his next attack a lil more umph to it

good tactic. taunting after a super is also good, because you can't do a quick get up after being hit with one :). I tend not to taunt much though, because I don't like pissing off opponents, but iff they deserve it, then I taunt a lot and try to defeat them with his taunt as well :laugh

lemme try one of my favs first.

KEN!!as of street fghter 3
ken has a very usful movelist that bails him outta many situations.hes mainly played offensively while forcing the opponent o defend or turle where u go for the throw.shoryuken has good priority over many moves and the invincible frames at the start of the move make it invaluable move.light shoryukens are mainly used as the stronger ones leave u incredibly open to attack.hadoukens are usually used to throw the enmys rythm off and to set up kens confusing tactics.if unsuccessful at getting through the turtling taunt to add to kens strength for next attack and to aggrivate opponent.huricane kicks are mainly evasive for low attacks and are always light unless completly able ts slightly o hit.fwrd and mid kik is good for pokers as it has good reach but is very hard to predict when itll hit.try to keep the ken offense on the momemtum as he is slightly useless on defense.try to keep the opponent guessing with the low midkik+hadouken combo and with verhead attacks. the best special to use i the third one. it gives u the most ex attacks and is very good at both countering an opponents attack and ctching them off guard.also its the most comboable spec.last but not least taunt whenever it is safe. taunt all the time.kens taunt is fast safe, aggrivating,and very usefull as it strengthens the next attack.

pretty good strategy. Don't forget about the importance of his low light kick into his super. The light kick is really fast so it's much easier to punish missed moves with the light kick into a super combo. It may be weaker, but it doesn't do that much less damage since the 3rd super doesn't do that much damage anyway.

His ex hurricane should usually be the only hurricane kick used in a combo. In certain circumstances it can even be linked into the third supercome, though that's a rare occurence(in second impact it happened all the time :sad). His air ex hurricane kick has juggle possibilities. His regular hurricanes are less useful since it actually puts you in a frame disadvantage even if you hit the opponent with it.

His jab dragon punch is priceless. in a lot of circumstances, you can link two of them for a damaging juggle. If you master low mid kick kara cancelling then you can almost always link a two jab dragon punch juggle. Use the mid and fierce dp for combos into a super, or to throw off the parry timing for someone who knows you use jab dragon punch a lot.

DON'T COUNTER WITH A DUCKING ROUNDHOUSE KICK: it's really slow and if you miss you can leave your self wide open. Only use it if you're out of mid kick range. In any other circumstance counter with the low mid kick instead since that can combo into something else, thus causing a lot more damage then just a ducking roundhouse.

Learn to parry: this is essential for everyone in the game, but there are some people that ken has really hard times fighting. the biggest problem for ken is in fact ryu. if you can't parry his moves then consider yourself toast since ryu is really good at pushing ken back and hurting his offensive game, and once ken is in the defensive, then he's dead meat.

remember that if you catch someone with an overhead while they're ducking then if you're fast enough then you can link it into his 3rd super. learn to mix up ducking light attacks into the universal overhead and sometimes even into the command overhead.

one last tip. If you knock someone down then try to do two things with the ducking light attacks:
1. his ducking jab punch is usually fast enough to knock down people doing wake up moves and even dragon punches if you time it right, but be warned that if you do it too much then they'll catch you with a super or parry the punch and catch you with a combo...that's where the second tip comes in.
2. use the jab to bait a super or an attempted parry. by doing this, you can either be ready to parry or block an up coming super combo or you can combo them if you see that they tried to parry it and missed. to bait them just throw the light attack until they're about to get up and then just stop and wait for what they're about to do. press forward while they're getting up and you'll parry the first hit of their move and either continue parying or just block if you don't feel confident in parrying. also mix it up by baiting with overheads. that's more dangerous, but well worth it.

Indeed And It would be possible to decipher it but should we keep frying chips we'd run out of arcades since capcom doesnt produce these chips hehe sly devils they are

Ohh man I had a really tough battle two days ago. My cousin came over and he's like 1 year younger than me, but he's a maniac in almost every fighting game he touches (the only known game we knew I was better at during that time was GGXX, other than that he was better at everything else since we never played SF3 before we couldn't judge that). We had a competition where the first to 15 wins was considered the superior player. Throughout the whole competition he kept being in the lead by like 2 games and by the time he got up to 13 wins, I was only at 9 wins.

Then he said "you're good, but the difference is that I got your technique down and you're not good enough to get mine". Let's just say that after that comment, I busted out skills I didn't even know I had. I literally read almost every frame that was thrown at me and parried almost everything. I mean I was parrybaiting supers, parrying special moves into supers multiple regular moves stringed high and low. I went crazy with the parrying and ended up winning 15 to 13. That last fight was really tough though. Even though I won 3 rounds while he only won 1 round in that last fight, each round was very close.

BTW I used my blue Ken, while he used Alex.
