Both of my wiimotes no longer work. Regardless of battery, rechargeable battery, or banging/shifting the batteries, the wiimotes do nothing. Not even the frustrating blinking lights. No lights whatsoever even.

For the time being I'm wondering... is there any way to play a GCN game on my wii with only my GCN controller, even if I don't have a working wiimote? If not, then damn Nintendo, that's a really inconvenient design flaw.

I needs my nostalgia quenched with Wind Waker and Thousand Year Door :argh

Wat? Either you are doing it wrong or you are very unlucky.

Sell your Wii.

Retarded suggestion here, but hell if it doesn't need to be said.
Try re-syncing them.
Also download a program to sync them to your PC and see if that'll work, to test if it's your Wii or the controllers' bluetooth that's fucked up.
On Mac you can download DarwiinRemote. Not sure about PC, but you could probably find one really easy.

How?

Sell your Wii.

I'm getting a new wiimote instead eventually. I can't just give up all of my GCN and virtual console games! (Plus the very few wii games that were actually worth buying!)

Try re-syncing them.

Doesn't work. Even when I press the sync buttons not even a single light blinks on either wiimote - and that's supposed to happen regardless if the syncing works or not. No matter what button I press, no lights go on, and the situation doesn't change even with different batteries, rechargeable batteries, putting the wiimote on the recharging station, or shifting/banging the batteries. I think the wiimotes are just fucked up. Maybe one of my heavier friends stepped on it or my impulsive friends threw it when I wasn't around or something.

Anyway, it looks like I'll have to sell them as 'broken' to Gamers/Gamestop and buy a new wiimote.
