Who is the strongest captain of the gotei 13? (genryusai excluded)

I've been thinking about it for a while but who do you think is the strongest captain in the gotei 13?

For me i think it's Kyouraku.
I've also been thinking about Ukitake but he always listens to Kyouraku.
It'll be close but i think Kyuaraku will be stronger.

I think Kyouraku, Ukitake and Unohana are on the same level and equally as powerful. They represent the elites of SS, and can probably beat any of the other captains. Besides Yama, I think only Aizen can beat them. They are probably even stronger than most of the Royal Guard

As I said above, they are probably all equal but I think Unohana is slightly stronger of the three

I found out a while ago that on the Bleach Wiki site, if you look up each of the captains separately, there is a picture of their battle data in the power and abilities section! It even tells you how strong they are in each section (e.g. kido etc). If i could be bothered I would have memorized each data total and told you who was the strongest out of the captains (except genryusai) :laugh

The three senior captains are the strongest but Ukitake has health problems and Unohana focuses more on healing so I think Kyouraku is a little stronger then them.

He'l take anything another capatin can throw at him,absolutely, your right, oh exept :Soi's nuke (he gets oneshoted), Byakuyas Imperial sword, Mayuri's poison, Hytsugaya's HH , Shunsuy's shikay games(let alone his bankai),Unohana's frankly anything,oh and lets not forget Ichigos Shikay at max reiatsu, so your obviously right, no captain would even touch Keny :zaru

oh and one little thing:Keny will never obtain any sword release, it is contradictory to his entire character,

As much as I love Kenpachi, I'm going with Shunsui because he's one of the oldest captains and because of the Starrk fight. I'm still waiting to see if the hype around Unohana will be justified.

in truth i dont think Kenpachi is the strongest, he just has an advantage over the other captains until they release their zanpakuto, u know the whole getting cut up thing, and having fun ( that guys fucked up ) i'll prob be the first one to vote for this person but i think that soi fon can take some captains because of her speed and her release, two hits ur dead like kenpachi, he'll be having so much fun and then two hits to the same spot and he starts to disappear

I would definitely say soi fan. Most people will say Kenpachi because of raw power and what not. But Soi fan seems most qualified and experienced and suffered and well aware of the outskirts / training/ battles of soul society.
Next would probably be kenpachi.

And for those who left, they qualify as the strongest as well... ehAizen, tousen , gin.
