I was just wondering, how is killing intent supposed to help Orihime's use of Tsubaki? Is he supposed to become sharper, faster, what?
I was just wondering because Tsubaki was blocked by a sword, I don't see how wanting to kill would've changed that. Would Tsubaki have dodged it? Would he go through it? Tsubaki seems like it can't cut through non living objects but can kill living ones easily(by splitting them in half).
I don't really see how Tsubaki is affected by killing intent. He's not like a sword, he creates shields that cut things in half.

Orihime's killing intent probably translates over to energy. That energy might be used to enhance a lot of things, like shields that cut things in half.
It's just like in the real world. If you don't WANT to win, you WON'T win, there has to be the will and dedication to go through with something, anything, whether it's playing a sport or having the intent to seriously harm someone, which would most likely be hard for most human beings, such as Orihime.
And if she wanted to seriously kill someone she would think about it more and not just blindly fire at an enemy.

Didnt one of the fairy girls say that their powers were tied to Orohime's emotions/will or something like that?

The more hatred and intention of killing that Orihime has, the more powerful and destructive the blade Tsubaki will be...
That's what I think of it.
She can't attack the enemy while she is soft, it will make Tsubaki's attack soft too.
It is quite related method to Ichigo's Zanpaktao uses
When you want to kill, "I will cut it" or sort of thing like that....

I think she had doubt about attacking people which makes he lose total control of tsubaki but anyone will fall for her big breast hnmm...

Thats just it though, I can understand if she was using a sword or bow, but this is pretty much a fairy, so what does it matter if she's firing blindly, he's a sentient being, he can see, he can change directions. The only difference might be power, but he's not a blade, he just puts up a shield inside the opponent, its not like he can put up a shield inside of Jiroubou's sword to split it in half. So why would more power make a difference?

its not power we are talking about here. its the killing intent of Orihime. If she has the intent to kill a shinigami or a hollow, then she will persist in the attack, and her will to fight can also transfer to her fairy guys like Tsubaki, making them probably faster, more agile, able to dodge things quickly. maybe........

Thats exactly how it is. Orihime might have the best powers in the series arguably but she doesnt have the heart to fight.

^hmm damn, imagine what a lunatic like Zaraki would do if he had control of Tsubaki. His killing intent is so high he'd probably take out old man yamamato.
@ Insipidipity-- remember that Orihime's flower power fairies' strength is based off of her EMOTION and WILL to fight, she basically controls how much power Tsubaki will have when attacking, it's not that he can control his strength, her will and intent to kill must be there for him to be able to go through with the attack.
