I'd like to know what everyones favourite punk band is.

I'm just really curious!

I'd have to say, Minor Threat.

I don't listen to them as often as I used to, but they rock.

They rock hard.

I actually can't decide between the awesome power of Minor Threats 'In My Eyes', the way Ian Mackaye is yelling, its like hes talking to you.

Or Husker Dus' 'What Do I Want?', Bob Mould screaming at the top of his lungs at the beginning of the track 'What do I want? What will make me happy?", is like a person dying.

Both are amazing.

Bad Religion is my favorite conventional punk band. Offspring and Greenday are really good too (yes, thats right, I did just say Greenday is good).

If we're allowed to pick folk punk bands, them my favorite is without question, Flogging Molly.

God, Punk is so diverse, I love it.
Thats because there is nothing that really defines punk. These days a punk band is basically any band whos lead singer is under 30 or any band who doesn't constantly scream.

One of my favourite punk bands that I can think of right off the bat would be Black Flag, you just have to love "TV Party". Another would be The Ramones, but come on who doesn't like them. And I don't know if they would be punk or alternive, or maybe even both, but the Smiths aswell.

"Favorite" type of threads seem to be popular in any part of the forum. This results in duplicate threads being created. I will be trashing or merging them and creating "official" threads for each that is made (i.e. genre favorites).

I'm doing this because one, I want to encourage the forum goers to use the search function. If they do so, they'll find one thread in which they can post in instead of 5 or 6. Two, this should also encourage variety. Threads present here will have range and hopefully keep the place fresh instead of having us just posting the same things over and over when duplicates are made.

Expect more to pop up. And if I'm missing some, feel free to PM me the links to duplicate threads that deserve being made "official".

Happy posting.
