The problem with complaining about the change in the Chatterbox now is that a lot of members called for the CB to be pruned, the very last member in that thread stating that the thread should be deleted. In essence, cleaning up the CB would have been one hell of a lot of work. In addition, developing a standard for posting would have been rather difficult when many posts were definitely below the current standard in the Lounge. What's the point of bothering to moderate a thread when the last one hundred pages of it have been filled with posts now considered not sufficient?

In essence, I think a prune (with a thread asking members which threads they would have wanted saved), renaming of the section, a couple of trashed threads here and there, a warning, and a few new ideas would have been great for an altogether better section.

But I guess the Lounge is a new start, and provides Staff with a better foundation to build upon, as opposed to a weak one.

It's for the current outcome that I wished a couple hours ago, Plaza Staff warned us specifically what the radical change coming would have been. Nevertheless, it doesn't make much sense to complain about this. Might as well adapt and move on.

New threads are made often and would clog up the search function with pages of new Blender threads saying "HEY ZARU" or something. Not to mention making Blender threads visible on the front page would involve getting rid of the forum link which allows us to have a Blender image.

The spam in CB had been neglected for far too long and we were getting VMs, PMs and SCR threads over locking like one spam thread at a time because members seemed to think it was allowed. It was far less drama to just start over.

That's exactly why this happened. We don't need two subforums with the same purpose. Blender is the spam forum, it was around first etc.

If they're that scared of the Blender they can always go to the fanclubs section to chat or Pachinko Parlour to play spam games. Also, the lounge is built on the same principles as the original Chatterbox. There will still be convo threads (While it is quite funny to see people raging that we've taken away their ability to talk to their friends, they can still do it. They just can't derail entire threads anymore). Both this section and the Blender just need to accept that there will be some crossover. Blender is for spam. Lounge is for discussion of NF and NF members.

Not really, negs in an FC are very rare, bitching is resolved in a matter of time and usually doesn't take long, and the drama's not really present. My point is, people get fucking negged for posting one tiny non-offensive post sometimes. How do you justify that?

I've been negged only once in fanclubs, but well over a dozen times in the Blender, always for some really ridiculous reason.

I'm probably like one of the most laid back members on NF and I don't like negativity. I post in places that I find to be the friendliest places on NF because I don't want to deal with stupid stuff. It's why I don't post in the Blender anymore at all, it's very unwelcoming. I always felt like I would get yelled at or negged or whatever just because I don't have "Blender humour" or whatever. It's very alienating.

In like.. I dunno.. Two or three weeks, maybe a month, this forum will look just like the Chatterbox again, except the allowable topics that carried over from the Chatterbox to the Lounge will exist in far greater numbers and really make up for the lack of ask/tell/spam topics from before. The building blocks for the Lounge are the same as they were for the Chatterbox. Like it or not, you're going to end up with the same thing over again unless you change those building blocks.
