Feh, I use it when they're on the ground, lying defenseless, but that's only in dire need. I prefer instant kills on CPU, especially in story mode. Which remind me, can anyone actually fight well using Zappa? X_X

I use Jam a lot even though she's not that strong, imo. But I've always prefered fast and combo loaded characters in my fighting games.

It's not that difficult to find Guilty Gear fanart. There are literally hundreds of doujins, both H and non-H, scanned all over the internet. GGX became a favorite for game fanart artists.

thanks for the welcome. what type of level of play to we talk about here? I use may primarily, but I also use jam, bridget, chipp, and dizzy in that order. I know a lot of pro combos and tactics with everyone actually...except for eddy/zato and venom, they're really difficult to use, so if anyone wants to talk combos and tactics, or has questions I can hapily answer some or talk if asked. Sf 3 is still my first love though.:laugh

oh. well ex sol has the loop as well. it's really cheap, but every tournament player tries to get people into it. It's a trap where you keep the oponent in the air with the air dust it's hard to learn at first but then it gets to be second nature....ah I'm just blabing now. anyways what's up Bass.

Hi. I play GGXX#R and it 's really cool. But since I only play it alone, I suck. Can't wait for a new part of the series, hopefully on Xbox, cause I don't have a PS2.

My favorite chars are Baiken and Axl. And I think an Anime of the game might be cool, if it gets a good storyline.

Heh I thought the demo thing that came with the game was a trailer for a ggx anime. I was so pissed when I found out it was only a promotion/mediocre recap for the earlier ggx game. Baiken and Axl huh? those two characters are hard to use, yet really dangerous when mastered. Learn their frc's and you will be a master whether you play with people or not :)

you are correct, but did you know that May has the only frc that can only be done if it hits? It sounds bad, but it makes her timing much easier, and she has really damaging combos with it. I really with I could show you guys some stuff I did. She is rather overlooked in tournament play so I try to change that, but I don't usually go past round 2 or 3.:laugh

remember that normal characters are what's needed for tournament level play. I stay away from ex characters now because I can't join a tournament using them, cliff, or justice....robo ky is allowed in #reload though, except for his ex version ofcourse.

basically when you fulfill certain requirements in the game like beating the story mode or going through survival mode, you get to unlock ex versions of characters which have different move sets. Most of them are more powerful than their regular counter parts

krismas, most tournaments are based off of the arcade version which doesn't have ex characters in them. ex characters were added in the home version. Plus they are really inballanced and the ex characters aren't even balanced with eachother since some ex characters are better than the normal versions (I.E. Jam) and some just plain suck even compared to their normal versions (ie. Johnny).

GGx regular didn't have ex characters, but GGX plus did. Though it worked in a slightly different way than GGXX. The ex characters were chosen through extra colors, and I don't remember if everyone had them. I do remember that ex Ky fought like how robo ky fought in the first GGXX (not #reload though)

here is one big rumor I can't believe I forgot to tell you about: In an alternate

speaking of Testament....he has the cheesiest trap with his ex beast. I learned how to do it, but I don't want to use it because I think I would get shot if I used it too much. It involves his ex beast being frc'd and then rushing in and either doing a punch (which is a high move that can be canceled) a low punch (also cancelable) or a forward and punch at the same time (wich is an overhead that can be comboed...unfair). basically the opponent will block the ex beast...or not :laugh. after you frc the ex beast you rush in on him and do one of the three above options. If the opponent was hit by the ex beast then he's helpless, if he wasn't hit then he'll try to block the rushing in attack from the three options. Since each attack you do can be linked into the ex beast and since the ex beast can be frc'd, then you just rince and repeat until you run out of meter or you hit. If you hit then you just go into a big damage combo (he has lots) or you can just keep doing the same tactic.

basically the ex beast has to be frc'd but if the opponent is too confused or is hit by the ex beast then it doesn't necessairly have to be frc'd and the opponent will be in block stun. also the opponent will be really confused since you are switching from high to overhead to low attacks and the opponent will have to continuously guess where to block.....a really evil tactic so in general:
1.do a standing slash from far or close
2.do an ex beast
3.frc or if you feel lucky and want to save meter don't frc
4. if ex beast hits either do a big combo, or run in and do one of the three punch options stated above.
5. if ex beast doesn't hit then he'll mostlikely be blocking it (hopefully it wasn't jumped over, but then again you can always hit the person from off the air with his blood trap counter him with poison, or use his grave digger). keep him in block stun by frc or not if you feel lucky and do the rush in with one of the three punches.
Note: make sure to keep the punches different so that you can keep them guessing and don't make a pattern. every once in a while do the same punch when you rush in again.....a really cheap tactic indeed and use it for good not evil.

with practise you will get good. I have combos for characters if you ever want me to share any. I think there are websites with combos and combo videos, but I don't really have many. I mostly learned though having friends who were fanatics. I then learned combos with other characters through them, and was forced to make some really good combo's with May and some others.

Well, is the order sol thing official or still a rumor, no one seems to know much about it's official information, but then again I haven't checked recently(there were rumors of a new FRC on chipp's beta blade, which would make it worth doing instead of his alpha blade RC combos). Well, is the order sol thing official or still a rumor, no one seems to know much about it's official information, but then again I haven't checked recently(there were rumors of a new FRC on chipp's beta blade, which would make it worth doing instead of his alpha blade RC combos). I would have looked at the earlier pages but I have a crappy 56k connection, so it takes literally 15 minutes to download a page of this picture infested forum.:sad

Yeah I've seen a few combo vids but I mostly make my own combos. Once you get FRC's down then it's not that hard to go from there with combos.
I've found that the top 10 keys to badass combos are:
1. FRC timing.
2. RC timing
3. Instant air dashing (especially with may and jam), try to keep them low
4. Dash cancells
5. land canceling
6. for characters like eddy/bridget: MULTITASKING (but that's more of a tactic thing than a combo thing)
7. Frame reading. You really have to know when a frame starts and ends (this definately goes with FRC's)
8. DO NOT USE PUNCHES IN A COMBO: only do it if you have to or towards the end, or in an infinity (like Jam's infinity)
9. Know what links (links are different from actually canceling. Linking involves moves that can't really be comboed in, but since the opponent may be stuck in hit stun then you can connect another move continuing a combo. a big example of this is Johny's mist canceling which is essential to proper Johny usage).
10. reaction time. this is probably the most important one. without reaction time you basically won't know when to take advantage of staggers and frc's at all.

yeah it's kinda a forced list, but each one is important.
