'Once upon a time, in New York City in 1941... at this club open to all comers to play, night after night, at a club named "Minston's Play House" in Harlem, they play jazz sessions competing with each other. Young jazz men with a new sense are gathering. At last they created a new genre itself. They are sick and tired of the conventional fixed style jazz. They're eager to play jazz more freely as they wish then... in 2071 in the universe... The bounty hunters, who are gathering in the spaceship "BEBOP", will play freely without fear of risky things. They must create new dreams and films by breaking traditional styles. The work, which becomes a new genre itself, will be called... COWBOY BEBOP'

Cowboy Bebop is one of the most popular and well-known animes ever created, loved both for its excellent action scenes, its fantastic jazzy/blues music, and its constant genre-blending. Set in the year 2071, travel between planets is possible thanks to a series of interstellar gates. The Earth has been rendered unlivable due to a gate accident 50 years earlier, so people live among the stars, building colonies on different planets. In this wild and untamed space, the 'Cowboys' appear...bounty hunters who catch and kill for a living. The story focuses on a group of bounty hunters who reside on the spaceship Bebop:
Spike Spiegel, the ever-cool former gangster; Jet black, the ex-cop investigative genius with a cyborg arm; Faye Valentine, the voluptuous bounty huntress with a mysterious past; Ed (aka Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV) a 13-year old genius hacker, and Ein, the super-smart Welsh Corgi.

Together this band of bounty hunters travel from planet to planet, trying to make a buck and meeting ghosts from their past at the same time.

This 26-ep and one movie anime is still my all-time favourite, and still the only anime I would buy. So if you too love this fantastic anime, come and join! And if you haven't seen Bebop, then you should. Right now. Let's Jam!!

Its a really amazing series i think that i find hard for anyone not to like, it funny, has great action, drama, and a good storyline although 5 episodes of storyline the rest being filler(well not really but what else do i call it?) I would have liked to see a bit more action in it seeing as all the action we did see was amazing but I sincerely give it a 10/10. The end was also amazing, it was very well done. Definatly one of the best animes ive ever seen, in my top 5 and the best anime not adapted from a manga ive ever seen. But the music is what really made it so awesome. I love all the tracks on the OSTs, Yoko Kanno is a music genius.

Cowboy Bebop was a really good anime with a great music selection/soundtrack. Gotta love that jazz. Come to think of it, Shinchiro Watanabe's Samurai Champloo has a great music selection, too. What else has Watanabe done besides Ghost in the Shell?

Oh, and by the way Spike dies and there's nothing that can deter me from that conclusion.

Cowboy Bebop is really cool. Especially the idea with the musicbased episodes. I love it.
This Anime is just perfect in every aspect: story, characters, animations, music...

Oh and by the way CB is in my opinion the best german dubbed Anime(referring to the quality of the dubs).

I'll join considering it is one of my favorite all time animes. It has a great deal of detail. If you watch the backgrounds they are truly amazing he does a great job on capturing the fact that it takes place in the future but trying to keep it as simple as todays everyday life. He's a great artist and this is a great series

Yes you read it right, I went to the city today and decided to buy it. But the store where I had seen the special edition 2 months ago didn't had any CB movie nor a special edition :crying
well I went to another shop asked if they had it, they hadn't but they could order the normal edition. So they orderd it, had to do some other shopping and went into a music store. I paid €29.99 for the special edition of the movie, if I paid for the normal (non special) one then it would have costed me €24.99, I saw that they sold the series for €14.95, that's probably one dvd with 3 episodes.... To damn expensive if you ask me so I won't buy the series :oh

It's been a very busy weekend for me, dad reached the age of 50 and had a big party this sunday, but a lot of preparations had to be done on saturday so it was a fun but tiresome weekend :sleepy

Anyway... let's discuss what your favorite character is of Cowboy Bebop :D

for me:

1: ED!! - she is just hilarious and funny and the moves she makes are cool:P

2: Spike -well main character of the story, cool fighting style, talks cool acts cool = cool :D

3: Faye - Looks really hot (although she is drawn ugly sometimes but on art of the series make her look awesome :amuse ) has a nice storyline of her own which is a little better then the one of Jet, so that's why she is my number 3

4: Jet - he is the homebase of the crew, has the least interesting background (that doesn't mean it's not interesting :wink ). The coolest thing is that he cares about everyone, and that he cooks. He is almost like a mother :P

5: well I don't know a good number five, Vicious and Julia are on the same lvl I guess, and I'm not really fond of Eien (the dog)...
