It's true, hehe. I understand that we aren't all viewing Deidara through a fangirl (or boy) lens, but he is an excellent and refereshing character nonetheless. He spices up every page he's on:). And his personality and jutsu contrast so nicely with so many other characters.

...And hes a pretty character that has a lot of passion but lacks angst, which is nice to see in Naruto.

And for the rest...well, yes, those certainly are subjective reasons, so I cant really argue. I mean, if you don't like a character, then you don't like them, that's fine. According to anyone, any character is weak, so Im unconcerned.

And Deidara is just so fascinating! His motives, passions, and lack of standard moral compass. He's crazy and talented. Like him or not, he is pretty interesting.

Deidara's problem is that he is a bit too cocky, if he would have worked together with Sasori they might have had the Kyuubi.(maybe)

Now I can hear some of you say: "KAKASHI CAN'T BE REPLACED, which is true" but the foundation has been laid to a situation where Kakashi doesn't longer matter anymore. His tasks have been covered so far, Naruto grew older, so did Sakura, and Sasuke, made his own decision even after their talk
on that tree. Asuma's death was a first sign of decay of that generation shinobi of which Kakashi is a part.

The only thing that matters now are the "fans" he has. But the basics have been laid for Kakashi release from the Naruto saga.

I agree that Kakashi will probably die at some point, but I think it's still too soon after Asuma's death for them to kill off another character right away. Especially one as major as Kakashi. I could see him dying in the final fight against Oro, or something like that.

The former Iwagakure prodigy, Deidara, now resides with Akatsuki. - Chapter 263, Shannaro.



Name - Deidara's name probably comes from a story about a giant called Deidarabocchi (デイダラボッチ a.k.a. Daidarabocchi ダイダラボッチ) who was said to carry Mt Fuji on his back and create lakes with his footprints.

Dei itself can mean "Mud" (泥). Dara itself can come from Tara, which can mean "Codfish" (鱈), which could go with the animal theme in the Akatsuki members' names, or "The Deliverer", "The Saviouress" (多羅). The last kanji in the latter meaning is the same as the last kanji in Gaara's and Karura's names.

Hair - yellow
Eyes - blue

Especially to his famous sculpture Taijou no Tou (太陽の塔, "The Sun's Pagoda") which was the symbol of the 1970's world fair in Osaka. Okamoto also said the famous words "Geijutsu wa Bakuhatsu da" (「芸術は爆発だ」) meaning "Art is an Explosion." Deidara uses these exact same words to describe art.

Well, everything I've gotten back is A-'s, so far. Which is fine, except not as much of a safety net as I'd have liked for one of the classes I haven't heard from yet, since the whole grade was based on that one delightful paper I'd been bitching about so much. But I'd finally managed to drag my GPA into the 3.7 range last semester, and well...

Anyway, my school has something called January term. And since I never go, since it's not mandatory, I get a month off. ^___^

It has been quieter than usual. But a quieter time is usually followed by a perky resurgence once the manga picks back up, which is always fun. Plus when the anime starts up again in a few weeks, t'will be quite busy around here.

Hmm. Maybe it's because I have blonde hair/blue eyes by nature, that I usually prefer the opposite. I've always preferred the long haired look though, so that hasn't changed.

And yes Cy, that was the pic I was referring to. It's definetly one of my favourites...mmm. It's a tie between that one, the one in my avy, the one with the black and white background with his eyes closed, and...many of the Deis attached to Sasoris.

Do you mean the classes are full? Sometimes you can talk to the professor and they'll let you into the class even if there's technically no open spots left. Most of the professors I had in college were pretty good about stuff like that.

That's really messed up about your college situation :( . I wonder why they would make that so confusing. But seeing as you're already a ...third year student (= junior, I think?), they might make some arrangements. You should talk to a student advisor. They sometimes help in sticky situations. Sometimes.

Akatsuki 210 has a good point too. I always go and talk to a prof if the course is full and if I have the prereqs, they usually have no problem.

That's...really odd. I've never heard of a prom being required for graduation. Or of parents coming to the prom, either. We had teacher chaperones at our prom, but they pretty much just stood around in the back of the room talking to each other and not paying any attention to the students.

Cy, Sasori is quite possibly my second favourite character for those very reasons. I read his parts and Dei's (of course) over and over. I will never get tired of those two gorgeous, twisted artists.

Oh my, that picture has entranced me time and time again. Such fiestiness!It's so out of place! And yet not! The mystery that is Sasori.

He just seems to react so distantly to everything, to people, emotion, battle, but not a cold distant like Itachi, it's almost a curious distant, and I like how he seems old and very young at the same time...

Whereas Dei is all about reaction. Those boys are opposites in so many ways, and yet they fit beautifully together. Hence my love of SasoDei. Sigh.

SasoDei... it definitely intrigues me. I mean, at one level it can't work at all, because Sasori is just so untouchable. And yet if anyone could, it's Deidara. And I think that's really why he tries to anger Sasori all the time... to provoke a reaction, to prove that there's still some emotion buried under that shell.

It's interesting, how Sasori claims to not be able to feel anything, and yet we can see quite clearly that he isn't able to handle Deidara in a fully emotionless manner.

I love the pairing as a mainly one-sided affair.

Sasori's obsession with the eternal is interesting... paradoxical. He wants something to last forever, but seems to need to destroy it as surely as Deidara does to attain that end.
